    One of the best walk arounds that I have seen. Very detailed and I like how you have it setup. Your jeep gave me some ideas for mine and the wifes 😁. Are you going to be going without the trailer virgil? If so, what made you decide to ditch it and go with the rooftop tent?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  Před 4 lety +1

      skull squadron thank you very much! I only did the trailer thing this year to test it out and make sure it can handle whatever I throw at it before I send customers out with it. It has been a great “luxury” to have and it made me pack way more things than I needed, which was great for comfort. But it obviously it is harder on gas and overall on all the drivetrain components. I will still take it every now and then when I either need extra supplies or if I’m taking the whole family along. Each has its pros and cons.

    I have a RoofNest too and trying to decide between Currie Antirocks or Swaybar disconnects. Even with your previous tent, do you experience any extra roll whilst cornering at speed on the highway with the extra weight up high with the antirocks?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  Před 4 lety

      Adam Grollo yes even without the tent, you get more body roll from the Antirocks than with traditional swaybars. But the convenience of never having to hassle with disconnects again far outweighs that slight performance reduction. It’s a Jeep so fast cornering isn’t a thing anyway lol. But if you are worried about roll overs, don’t be! It’s not that bad! It’s not like driving around disconnected.

    If you could go back in time would you start with a Rubicon as the base to this build? I'm debating between a few jeeps and dont really want to dish out the money for a Rubicon off the get go. How capable was the jeep as a Sahara model for overlanding?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  Před 4 lety

      Hollywood it did well for the most time and a Rubicon isn’t necessary, especially if you plan to modify it enough so that the things that make it a rubicon become replaced anyway, such as gears and axles. But if you aren’t planning on going to 37’s or bigger than a Rubicon would be the best option as you can do a lot with a 2” lift on 35’s. The D44’s will be able to take the add-on weight from overland equipment and the 4:10 gear ratio will still be quite manageable.

    What made you get the Sahara vs the rubicon?

    • @NorthBoundExpeditions
      @NorthBoundExpeditions  Před 4 lety +1

      Because all the parts that made it a Rubicon would have gotten replaced anyway, gears, lockers, axle, sway bar, with bigger and better parts.

      We had the intention of making these for retail, but their sheer size will make shipping as expensive as the step itself. We will revisit this down the road however. Ok the meantime if you wanted one of these you would have to make one yourself, or if you have a KMS rack, they have a katwalk that’s basically the same thing.
