TAMA‘s revamped Iron Cobra Power Glide kick drum pedals won‘t get in the way of your drumming, no matter how expressively you play. Thanks to their innovative Cobra Coil pedal spring, each gives you an incredibly smooth and fast response, as the Cobra Coil quickly returns the footboard to its original position after each kick. By using the LiteSprocket design from the Speed Cobra series, TAMA has made the Power Glide pedals the speediest, most responsive Iron Cobras yet - each cam comes in at 40% lighter than the previous versions! For a fast, responsive kick drum pedal that‘s built to last, TAMA‘s Iron Cobra pedals are proven winners.

I've been using the same Iron Cobra for the the last 13 years now, and it's endured 4-5 gigs per week every week and I've only had to replace a single spring in that entire time. ICs are built like absolute tanks!
My double pedals kind of fell apart. The kick side was still perfect, but the left driveshaft and cam continuously gained play over the years. Kind of like hitting it with a breaker-bar thousands of times.
I suggest everyone slap a Trick driveshaft on them.
Nick seems more excited to present the IC over the DW Pedals. Oh well, Iron Cobras are the best!
Absolutely the best pedals ever. I have been using it since 11 years and I haven't even replaced anything yet. Been playing 4-5 hours 7 days a week to this day! Such great consistency of the pedals...These things would last long.
Iron cobra all the way. I have one that I just bought a few months ago, As well as one that I've had and played for almost 20 years. Strongest name in drums.
LETS GO!! Sweetwater is the definition of top notch quality through & through!

Best pedal ever….bullet proof. I’ve owned an iron cobra for ~15 years. Never a single issue
do you like the iron cobras better than the speed cobras
@@Jcurly1 personally yes. but that was mainly because it suited my purposes better. i would just compare them side by side at a store. if the build quality is the same, then you should have no problems.
I just got the double pedal from you guys and love them!
man i've got the normal version of this pedal but this all black looks beautiful and watching nick's playing is what excites me more than the pedal.
How would you use this kick drum pedal on your kit? 🥁 You can jam to the latest drum kits, snares, cymbals, and more when you like and subscribe! Thanks for watching!
The speed-o ring is the best thing Tama has ever done for their pedals
I love the "Squib Cakes" style groove at the beginning ...
I’m want one, but I’m afraid of the black fading out or scratching
Best pedals and hardware. Period
Good lord LOOK AT IT 😍
The best kick pedals ever.
I've got the speed cobras (910) pedals and double pedal, the only change I make to them is , I change to the very old red danmar wooden beaters and I add a cobra coil to the foot boards , probably the best chain drive I've ever used since 1987 .
I have a Chrome Iron Cobra PG double...love it although I rarely use it since i prefer 2 kick drums
I think it looks really cool 😎
The Iron Cobra 900 bass drum and hihat pedals have been the two best investments I've made to improve my drumming. I had gotten to a point where I knew I could physically play things that were not translating through my old pedals that were beyond adjustment of the mechanisms in them. After buying the bass drum pedal my foot finally had a pedal that could keep up with it. After a while I realized my hihat was no longer able to keep up with the agility of the bass pedal so I got the hihat and now I have pedals that can actually do what my feet want them to. If there are any pedals that work better than these new they are probably at least twice the price which I would pay if I felt the need physically but for now I feel I can continue to progress with these pedals which are truly reliable workhorses that are expensive but worth the price.
Just get new ones, they durable af. I mean if your breaking them easily then your probably not playing them right xd
@@xanderdelatorre3890 I never broke anything. Some things can be fine for what they are but not good enough to be as responsive as they need to be. The Iron Cobras fixed that issue for me over my older but inferior pedals that I sold because they were in great physical condition but not good enough for me. Learn how to read English...

I have a sonar twin FX pedal, DW 9002 double panel and a very old Tama pedal from 1985 just before the iron cobra 🐍 series came out. My favorite of the three is my
tama pedal. The main reason I like it best is the footboard, I’ve got big feet and this is a really big footboard, it’s even bigger than what the iron cobra has today. And it is so doggone smooth after all these years it just feels like an extension of my foot I don’t even notice the pedal is there. TAMA makes great drums and petals! 🥁❤️
I sold my previous Iron Cobra double pedal (early 2000’s model) and bought a Speed Cobra single pedal which I still have. I came across a deal on a used DW 9000 double pedal thinking that would be my be all end all…Turns out I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. Never felt right to me and the adjustments were difficult compared to the IC. Traded those in for the current IC model and know for certain they are my preferred pedals. The Speed Cobra is amazing too just takes a while to get used to.
Some nice upgrades to the Iron Cobra. I'll still never understand why they make the locking nuts out of plastic though.
I Just Love Tama Iron Cobra Pedals. They are Simply the Best Pedals Out There. Hands Down.

So Cool!
Nick! Thanks
Thank you my friend they they come with the the pedal comes with the with the case and now my time 1525 years ago there went okay spell you just bought the pedal I like that
I have iron cobras, double chain from 2000. Still have it n use it
What snare was that used in the video? Looks like a Sensitone, I got one of those, gloriously constructed drum
I love this
I fucking need this double bass pedal!
Tama should bring back the iron cobra clutch
Why is it not available with rolling glide??
Is anyone else having the issue with the (case) not shutting all the way? I have serious issues with mine not closing no matter what I do to eliminate the 3/8-1/2 gap. At 7:43, I'd be on my way to a gig but I have to carry all 3 components in a damn bag. What's up Tama..?
is that a steel snare drum?
Finally. I had been watching these
nice. Nick your awesome buddy.seen your mapex add in MD mag 10 plus yrs ago. a pic of your mapex kit .I was so young but seen you in modern drummer for mapex. peace happy drumming. I need financing help from sweetwater. for new she'll pack.
Since these beaters are rubber do you recommend not using a nylon type kick pad? Just wondering because I run an evans eq patch on my kick as well, but Im noticing the beater is a little chewed up now, and I see Nick using the clear plastic ones here
The beaters are felt man, only the speedcobra has rubber beater.
How's the durability of the Cobra Coil? I'm looking for a new pedal but a lot of people raise Q's about this part of the pedal
Hey, SFV. Thanks so much for your interest. I haven’t heard of any issues. Mine has been performing without any issues for the last 5 years.
Thanks again.

Is there a matching hi hat stand?
Too bad they didn't bring back the Black and copper hardware color scheme edition from 2014 on top of it. I also would've loved to see a black nickel hardware verion as well. And too bad that they didn't release black edition hi hat stands to match the pedals..
Love case .... love my dw9000 but comes gym bag type of case
I like both types of cases/bags. Hard cases protects better your gear, but they are more expensive and uncomfortable to carry. If you're on tour, and your gear makes long trips on a van or a truck, especially if you're not the one who transports and mounts it, yeah, it definitley worth it. But if you play local gigs and you're the one who transports and mounts your stuff (and most likely will be more careful), a nice soft but well padded bag will fit better in your car and will do the job just fine.
That said, I have a double Speed Cobra wich came with its hardcase, and it's nice except for the locks, that are made in plastic and will most likely break eventually (not yet). Another tiny detail I don't like about it is that, while being big enough to be uncomfortable to fit in my car, is not big enough to place the connecting bar with the extension lenght I use, so I have to fully retract/extend it every time, or, what I do, throw it into my hardware bag with the rest of my hardware.
@@isihernandez9752 you can keep it extended and just throw it on top of everything else and it will close and it won’t be moving too much in there. It doesn’t have to be placed in the spot where the rod is supposed to go cause yeah mine is extended to long for that spot as well but just try to put it on top of the pedals and close the case. Also the latches and everything has held up for me. I’ve had mine since 2016, practiced, gigged, toured, everything possible with these Tama pedals and they are built to last for sure.
@@andyham6094 "on top of everything else", do you mean inside the pedals case, or with the rest of the hardware as I do?
Because the first option doesn't seem too reliable to me, it doesn't seem to be enough room for it and I'm afraid something could break if I force it. Maybe I use the bar more extended than you, I don't know... 🤔
The second option (what I do) seems simplier and safer to me, but hey, every one has its own ways... 🤷🏻♂️
I have mine since 2017, and as I said, so far, so good, but it's just I think that moving parts made in plastic will last less than metal ones. I've seen some of these cases, and a few were broken just there. Yes, they were older IC cases, but they're essentially the same except for the size (SC are bigger than IC).
Anyway, they give you the hardcase when you purchase the pedals, so I'm not complaining. That's more than most brands do.
Appears that only the Power Glide version was made for this Blackout Edition. No love for the Rolling Glide. I guess that means the PG sells more than the RG, but I prefer the RG myself. There's always Krylon I guess. :D
I never compared the Rolling Glide to the Power Glide & didnt want to buy one just for the comparison
@@neilschlemeel5751 You can buy the different cams separately and swap them out yourself pretty easily.
I wish they'd make a pedal that fits into a trap case.
So what is the difference between the speed and iron cobra now?
As in now that they are both black, or now as in 'nowadays'? Answer is the same either way. They are two very different pedals....and feel very different under foot. Different footboards and cam designs will make a big difference to how they feel. Maybe you thought the Cobra Coil was the only difference? Can one be adjusted to feel like the other? Maybe so but I imagine it would take some effort. But what do I know? I use a Sonor Perfect Balance (standard) and am very happy with it.
Exactly the same as before. They only made a black edition of both (Iron and Speed), but nothing else changed.... maybe the price...? 🤔
I think the SC have the Rolling Glide Cam and the IC is the Power Glide. The SC pedal is more off set.
@@coachcrusher7819 This is correct, and I'll add that the IC is also available with a Rolling Glide cam (though not in Blackout version). But as you mentioned, the SC has the footboard placed further back which changes the feel/response even compared to the RG equipped IC.
Whats the price for the single pedal
You can check the link in their description to get pricing. As of today (10/26/21), they have it listed for $229.99.
But for a Speed Cobra its $260
nice looking pedal but, a pass for me i wish i could see something more and different like possibly converting that double pedal into 2 singles would be ideal for me...sometimes i have room for a double kick and sometimes i only have room for a single kick.
They did :/
just get two of the single pedals
No pedal has ever been better than the Ghost pedal. Too bad they are no longer made
Would John Bonham approve of that bass drum sound?
My friend good morning or good afternoon or good evening I like what you show today today is Sunday 8:18 in the morning I like what I saw that pedal of the timer it's upgraded at the one I have and I like what you said is it to me it's easy for me to ingest is a drummer thank you for thumbs up on that 3/8 I like that I like what you sure I like I always liked it the time of petals and you mentioned old school panels yes yes you're right and yeah I like what you said that it will fit any bass drum hold one new one I agree thank you I appreciate it I'm serious yes I'm a drummer so that was 9 years old I'm already 63 already and I
This all black edition is wayyyyy better colur than th 50th anniversary edition (psychedelic rainbow + coral marble) that looks like a lollipop and childs play.
I do need a new/better kick pedal
Hmmmm....... 🤔
