"Thankfully, this game has a fan-made English translation available..." This game has a fan?!
I feel like golf works the same in every language.
A lot of translations are done just because some people want to develop their skills on programming.
Just how grateful are we?
Well I mean obviously if there was a fan patch made.
Maybe they're just hardcore retro game fans who want to make different games more accessible by translating them.
We have San Andreas at home
I'm gone 😂😂
It took me a moment to get your joke 😂
Took me a moment to get your joke 😂
Bro 💀
I didn't get your joke at first 😆
It's Friday my dudes!
No it isn't. It's Saturday, 1:39AM in New Zealand. I should be asleep but y'all Friday people are too loud.
@@Roflcrabs What was that? I can't hear you over the sound of Friday.
@@RoflcrabsNew zealand doesnt exist. I know because Old Zealand doesnt even show up on the map.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah
@@crypto1upteam750wait.. what about New York? What happened to the old one?
Sources are telling ESPN’s Shams Charania that ThaBeast does indeed mean all of them
I love Thabbs shock and surprise when he finds out a 72 hole open is played at the same course 😂. It's almost like this is a golf game.
Gotta love when old games randomly have menus with higher resolution than anything else in the console.
That's typically because menus are flat pixel art (but of course not always). So you end up with N64 3D graphics for the game, and then you get really nice pixel art that looks better than anything the SNES could ever do for the menus.
The marble game selection has been such a great addition to this series.
IT s like its own new series.. thought id hate IT but i love it
@@doktordave420 Missing the "What is that?" thought...
The next game was the first game I ever pulled an all-nighter with my friend with. I still remember looking out the window and realising the sun had come up! It's a really fun game, looking forward to it!
I'm a huge soccer fan, been watching and playing my whole life - would love to hear what teams you were a fan of back then? Or if you just enjoyed that game which is totally cool too lol
just want to say thanks for the non-spoiler comment. and you're right, the next game is a gem.
You pulled an all-nighter playing Eiko No St Andrew's Golf with friends?! Oh, I misread. 😊
ISS 98 was a big park of my childhood!
I. am. DYING. at the other golfer names. That's some goooooood engrish 90's PGA stuff.
Bless you, Fred Coubles and Greg Morman.
And Lee Trevino, NOT Travino.
J. Daby !
FYI, St. Andrews is the oldest golf course in the world. The old course was basically the first golf course ever. The St. Andrews golf club basically governs the global game of golf.
I like how so many of these games make so little sense that Thab never seems to even question why a game about this specific golf course exists.
@@fenzelian the 90s were a fun and interesting time for gaming. Things didn’t need to make sense, haha.
Have you seen the Robin Williams special "Live on Broadway"? He talks about St Andrews and how the scotts invented golf. Hilarious bit.
FYI it isn't the oldest course in the world, Musselburgh Old Course is the oldest active golf course on the planet. St Andrews is somewhere around the 12th oldest active golf course
complained about the water on the first hole, not the first guy to do that.
While I miss the “what is that” the marble race is actually very hype. I love that part.
Yeah it really sweetens the deal when the game is just kinda...crap lol
@@mrcheesemunch wayyy more drama on the marble track than the St Andrews links haha
He could have numbered the marble so he'd still have to wonder, "What's that...?" But it wouldn't be as exciting to watch a bunch of unknown numbers racing.
Even if it’s a game I couldn’t care less about like last weeks pachinco or this golf game and I skip through, I STILL watch the marble race it’s super entertaining haha
St. Andrew's looks like old people Heaven.
You ever play Golf Story? There’s an old person’s golf course that basically is old people heaven
@BR-jw7pm I've played maplestory does that count? 🍁
@@toddalexander1903 have next to no knowledge on Maplestory soooo…
Sure….
It basically is.
4:35 someone probably said it in stream but st Andrew’s only has 9 greens for 18 holes. Every green has 2 holes. Which is why the greens are so big.
Close. It has 11
Man, that is a ROUGH looking game.
Heh, rough, get it? 😂
@@NoCoastRaps nice!
@@asymptoticspatula I'll be here all week
255 CMs translates to 100 INs or roughly 8’4!!!
Can't wait to see how you got on with ISS ... those games were my 90's childhood.
I fired it up recently and WOAH BOY does it ever have some some very up-beat and catchy music! The presentation of the game and the UI is surprisingly good. The game itself is quite good for its day too. This was considered a very good sports game at the time.
11:24 - "ohhhhhh yyyeeeaaaaahhhhhhh"
easily the best title for a game in the series so far
That golfer is just the default runescape man!
When it came to golf, my dad always told me: "You gotta hit the little ball before you hit the big ball"
Mischief Makers in the top 5 was such a tease haha. Can't wait to see you play this one!
hey man I love this series fun fact this was the 6th N64 game ever released and definitely one of the first 3d golf games
“St. Andrew’s is a course in Scotland.”
“That was rude design by the course owners.”
“You have to golf the same holes four times in a row!”
“I get it it’s one of the oldest… N64 games”
“Look I get it, this is one of the first golf games… on the console”
“The golf course is not that interesting either.”
Amazing 😂
Just taaap it in. Give it a little tappy
Tap tap taparoo.
Go home! Don't you want to go home?! Are you too good for your home?!
Two things this video was lacking: end cards, and Lee Trevino’s Putting Challenge jokes. I mean, come on! He was one of your group on day 1!
Thab has selected MAX POWER!
Golf Tournaments in Real life plays the same 18 holes 4 times, Thursday-Sunday.
My friends and I play with this format in Everybody's Golf on PS5. At the same time I'll also play the Master's on CZcams so we have the crowd noise and announcers lol.
“That was rude design by the course makers." This sounds like something about Mario Maker coming out of Thab's mouth.
Man I love Fridays!!! Thanks for the video Thab!
I will be here until the very end of this awesome journey ❤️
I don't typically watch the intro to these, but I'm glad I did today. 0:05 had me dying 💀
I remember playing this game when I rented a japanese N64 console in 1996. There were five games and this Golf game was one of them.
The International Superstar Soccer series is the best sports series on the N64. Reay looking forward to seeing you play this. Also the fake player names are funny.
These episodes make my Friday just a little bit sweeter
I'm pretty satisfied with how this series handles the boring N64 games--with the worst case scenario being that the real game just starts a bit later, like in this case at 10:14.
Thanks for being a part of my friday routine, Thab
I can't believe That is skipping the first 63 International Superstar Soccer games!
I look forward to these every friday and try not to spoil myself on what is coming up.
Yes! ISS64 is still one of my favorite football games. Looking forward to next week.
Wow very consistent video views nice job!
Yes, 4 days is a standard major tournament.
this fella should get way more views for this stuff. some of the best on youtube
I'm thrilled to see some ALEJO tricks in the next game!!
It's so much fun to be part of your journey, AND...
... I'm SO glad I don't have to play some of these titles lmao.
I have you know that live down the road from St Andrews and today was sunny! It looked like it could rain and everyday for over a week rained but today was sunny!..mostly
The swing animations are actually nice
Another super obscure Japanese game I never heard of before LETS GO!!
Was ready to watch you suffer there but the gaming gods took pity with that save system.
Yo dawg the Japanese exclusive's are always interesting, thx for gaming these games.
Fred Coubles!‽? Amazing 😂😂
You've clearly missed your calling to narrate marble races, you are really good at it
Lol the pause after "the last 2 holes where the easiest for me" was genius.
Omg the way they got away with the names of the golfers is amazing John daby 😅😅
Watching this series makes me realize how bad the ratio of awful games to good games is lol
Ya if it wasn’t Nintendo or rare the games on n64 weren’t that good lol
came for the marble race, stayed for the shocking N64 golf game (that I liked not knowing existed) and now excited for ISS 64, the game you could cheese by passing quickly across the defensive line and the CPU would take over for you and score (as the AI was programmed to only go after the human player). Won the World Cup with Northern Ireland with that Strat... aware this is probably 18 months too late and will enjoy a soccer game review anyway
Damn that was the best marble race yet. Was more entertaining than the game shown this episode lmao
Love these videos! Still waiting for fate to allow Hybrid Heaven through!
6:16 putting instead of chipping is definitely the play in real life.
Putt if you can. chip if you can’t put. pitch if you have to.
St. Andrews, the birthplace of golf.
Kinda unrelated, but this reminds me of Robin Williams' bit about how the Scottish invented golf. It is certainly worth watching or rewatching.
As that old Bible saying goes, "first is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairy chest."
Love that it has little head mode, very novel
Dude I’m so ripped and the thing with the heads has me so weak 😂
Awesome serious of videos. What HDMI mod do you use and what are your video settings? Just got one of my own up and running and having trouble...
I can't wait for Road Rash!
OMG THE GAME THAT WAS CHOSEN, quite some memories
I played the shit out of the Mega Drive version at my friend's (the only friend I knew who had a Mega Drive), I'm actually excited to see what the N64 version was like! :D
I'm no golfer or golf fan, but I have played a little when I was younger and visited St Andrews once. It's a gorgeous place irl, not like this drab, samey and pixelated mess. Despite whatever issues and reservations we may have about the game, a nicely sculpted natural golf course is like a very civilised park you'd find on some utopia world in Star Trek or something. I absolutely get the aesthetic appreciation. It's more just the types of privileged and dodgy business people the game mainly attracts, but it is nice to have a relaxed, fun knock about and you get a real satisfaction from a clean hit that goes roughly where you aimed it.
As a golf fan, the fake names they use to get around paying the golfers royalties is comical. "F. Coubles" and "G. Morman" is equivalent to a basketball game featuring Michael Jordin or Kobe Bryent.
All of them... The last two episodes are proof. And we haven't even gotten to the horse breeding game...
Must have been torture to have to watch all the computer players shots
Man! 3 0/10’s so close together. Can’t wait for the good games to get their big break.
The best Scottish Asian fusion since haggis eggrolls!
My favorite marble race so far
I'm playing all the marble races... and I mean all of them
Marble Madness, Monkey Ball...
@Blas4ublasphemy I'm playing All the Monkey Ball games, and I mean All of them.
Hoooold up… Is he playing EVERY N64 game?!
But with a twist!
Unfortunately.
Well, yea, but also, yes.
Dude honesty I'm not sure. I really wish he'd let us know what the game plan is :/
Yes. And he means all of them.
I get that this is a historic course, and I love golf! But making a whole game about one course? Thats a recipe for fun!
That's why it's called Eikō *No* Saint Andrews
Great video. Who is saying "Oh no." at 11:23?
"The draw distance is pretty bad"
Literally miles of terrain rendered.......
Wow this is a deep cut - a Japanese exclusive golf game 😮
Neo Turf Masters golf was released the same year for Neo Geo and it was superb with at least 6 courses so this reeks of a rushed game to cash in on the 3d craze.
Lol, as a golfer this is kinda cool. It shouldn't be a game though since it's just 1 course but st. Andrew's is world famous for its course.
On to the next!
Happy Friday ☕️
It may not be fun but its nice to see a golf game be difficult.
I always have a good time even if these sports games are uninteresting. Better times will come 😂, but thabeast is forever.
I remember playing the Rugrats golf game i think on ps1 pretty fun game
I don't normally play sports games, but I heard that soccer game is pretty good.
What a marble race! 😮
You know what they say, "A hole's a hole".
I'm in Scotland and it's literally raining right now
the second half of your sentence is a bit redundant m8
@@rjbeefy5020 wish I could argue but can't
Marble game doesn't autoselect the worst N64 game possible challenge (Difficulty: Impossible)
the Technician? Like in Neo Turf Masters for Neo Geo? (the best golf game ever btw)...you should do a beating every Neo Geo game series
Choro Q 2 is actually the sequel to Penny Racers but it was only released in Japan due to low sales overseas
Another game I have never heard of.
No your awesome! Ty love the challenge ..so much I even donate
International super star soccer 64 is legit! Had so much fun slide tackelimg my brother with that game
When I see games like this I get so scared that this challenge will end, not by ThaB giving up, but by a game so badly designed that it’s unbeatable
12:37 Cool, I have this game and ISS 98, the only one I don't have is ISS 2000
i actually found this game at a flea market in my home town!
Can’t wait for every ps1 game when you finish all n64
