  • My dad Hugh Taylor Glenn has been a beekeeper since his teens. This is part 5 in our ongoing learning sessions with dad and my wife, newbie beekeeper Nikonya Godwin Glenn. Watch as Nikki and dad see our new honey production and plan to add new supers to the hive. We got our honeybees back in the early spring from Brushy Mountain Bee Farm in Moravian Falls, NC.

thank you so much for this video. I am a beginner beekeeper myself, with my daughter (8 & 12 years old) they realy enjoy the tranquility of this hobby.

These bees are cleaning. It's not because they are crowded. They might be but the back and forth movement you are seeing, are them cleaning the landing board. Great video

Your dad must have really worked a lot with his bees and they must have known him pretty well. It amazed me how he walk up and opened his stand of bees with no gloves or face covering.

Hello. Didn't see any comments down below, but the hive in the video is doing something that beekeepers refer to as "washboarding" referring to the backward and forward movement of the bees on the landing board, front door and lower hive body in this video. This is an excellent video of this phenomenon.

Need to be removing that burr comb where the spacing was incorrect. They will continue to build off of that and make a mess of it.

Awesome videos regarding beekeeping. I just bought my first jar of raw honey and I do love it. I'm probably let others handle the bee keeping chores however :)

I o not see over crowding they are hot so they hang outside, it's all about temperature control to keep them working
