- This vegetarian curry uses chunks of creamy paneer in a fragrant butter-style curry sauce. It’s mild enough for the whole family to enjoy, but you can spicy up this paneer curry with the addition of some fresh chillies if you like it hotter.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes
Serves 4
Ingredients
• 1 large onion, peeled and roughly chopped
• 4 cloves garlic, peeled
• 1 thumb-sized piece fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
• 3 tbsp unsalted butter
• 1 tbsp sunflower oil
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 1/2 tbsp garam masala
• 1 tbsp medium-heat curry powder
• 1 tsp paprika
• ½ tsp cinnamon
• 180 ml (3/4 cup) chicken stock
• 400 ml (14oz) passata
• 2 tbsp tomato puree
• 2 tsp sugar
• 6 cardamom pods
• 175 ml (¾ cup) double (heavy) cream
• 450g (1 lb) paneer cheese, chopped into bite-size chunks
To Serve
• Fresh coriander, roughly chopped
• Thinly sliced red onion
• Nigella seeds
• Naan bread
Instructions
1. Place the roughly chopped onion, garlic and ginger into a food processor and blend until smooth.
2. Heat the butter and oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat.
3. Add the minced onion, garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally until the onion starts to brown at the edges of the pan.
4. Add the salt, garam masala, curry powder, paprika and cinnamon. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the spices start to release their fragrance.
5. Add the stock, passata, tomato puree, sugar and cardamom.
6. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
7. Remove the cardamom then stir in the cream and allow to heat through.
8. Carefully stir in the paneer and cook for a further 3 minutes, until the paneer is heated through.
9. Serve with some freshly chopped coriander, thinly sliced red onion and a sprinkling of Nigella seeds. I like to serve mine with naan bread for dipping too.
Tip: I like to sew cardamom pods together with a piece of natural cotton. This makes it much easier to find them and easily fish them out later.

Your videos are great. You have everything prepared so we don't have to watch 20 minutes of chopping. Brilliant.
This looks amazing 😋 I think even I could make it.
Thank you for sharing.
I really like the smell of the aromatic spices that fill the air.
Looks delicious 😋 mmmm
Thank you, we love a good curry in our house 😋
Wow, this was amazing, the sauce alone is magnificent, thanks guys.
Best look dish from a cinematic standpoint ive seen yet!

i make my own paneer so will be trying this . thank you
Looks amazing!
Each to their own.
Love Paneer, thanks for this easy, tasty recipe
Most welcome 😊
This dish was AMAZING!!! I added frozen spinach that I squeezed most of the liquid out of. I also used a whole cup of chicken stock, a whole cup of heavy cream and additional spicy curry powder! So easy if you are in a rush. Curry in a hurry as Gordon Ramsey says. FANTASTIC!!! ❤😊
Good morning Nicky, this looks so tasty and a good colour as well. At times we need a change from eating meat and this is a perfect recipe to follow. Thank you for sharing. Kind regards.
Oh yummy Nicky. Thank you.
Looking forward to trying this one.
Hope you enjoy it 😋
Beautiful recipe as always, really enjoying your cook book best wishes.
Thank you so much 😊
Hi
I love your videos ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Looks delish!!....but I won't be using seed oil 😱😱
Your meatless meals are amazing.
Thank you 😋
instead of butter can you use ghee ?
Oooooh nice.
If you dont like the feel of the paneer like this just fry them off first.😊
Oh brill - I’ve been hoping you’d do a few vegetarian recipes - thank you! I’m just trying to eat less meat.
I tried to buy the natural oil. and I don't know what it is. can you please help me. I don't know what I looking for. thanks
Nikki, I would love to know how you never get your tops splashed with curry sauce 😂.
I would need to leave the sugar out!
Unfortunately this tasted of tomatoes at the exclusion of everything else - admittedly we put a bit more passata in, but then everywhere sells passata in 500g cartons, not 400g like every recipe inexplicably refers to and what am I going to do with just 100g of leftover passata?
Ruin your dinner like you did! She said a specific amount for a reason. Can't beleive your stupid comment.
This is not for me
Don’t knock it until you try it!
@@envy99976 I’m a carnivore. Will not even try it, sorry😌
it should be combined with meat instead of cheese
You could do either. But panneer is such a good vegi alternative.
Why ?
Ok, but the title is Paneer Curry, and that means cheese. But a recipe isn't a legal document, so if you want lamb, chicken or beef in yours, just drop the paneer.
Oh wow Nicky 😮😮😮 this looks next level delish!!!! I love anything curry and I keep telling my husband I want to try my hand at making paneer curry, something else I've never cooked with is the paneer... this must be a sign that it's time for me to give it a try 😊😊 thank you so much dear friend for sharing your amazing recipe 😀 😊
