    4. Munich SAW 2018.

Kinda wild how low buoyancy it has. It's much like the real life Bluebird K7 or unlimited hydros in the US for instance. They push sooooo much water until they're up on plane. Though I think Jorg has really pushed the limits. It floats about as much as a submarine in surface mode. The fact that its planing surfaces appear to provide very very little lift as well is quite interesting. Plus the sponsons, if I'm reading the lines correctly, will actually provide a measure of aerodynamic downforce probably contributes to how aggressively it digs in if the launch angle is just a tiny bit too low.
All that said, I think the most impressive thing is that physics even allows such a small propeller to still provide thrust at such high rpm!

It is impossible for those riggers, correct. But that's the only thing you got right. The riggers are working with a fraction of the horsepower of these SAW boats. That's why they are so slow in comparison. The flip side is that they can run at top speed for more than a few seconds, unlike these boats that are pulling hundreds of amps for a very short burst and trying not to smoke themselves in the process.

I also think that all American SAW driver Jörg M. from the Jag`s team understands. Each of our SAW competitions takes place in Munich, at which time the "Oktoberfest" takes place. Anyone who does not believe it can come by and watch the spectacle or go for a ride. Then, of course, observe the rules where to comply. The 40 -50k rpm range is not high enough for this boat. I'm running electric - driven outrigger boats for oval - racing - use for years at this rpm level. This boat runs at a significant higher rpm level.
      You could hear the difference.
I think the Jörg - Mrkwitschka - outrigger needs around 70k rpm for its maximum speed.
LMT motors offer custom - made versions with a titanium ring around the rotor ( rpm limit 100k ... not only 65k ).
      J. Mrkwitschka' s battery is extraordinary powerful for its size.
I never heard how powerful his battery really is. But remembering data from former record attempts... with lower power level on board ... I think his battery is able to bring out 22 or 23 kW peak.
In my opinion... not bad for a battery pack weighing not much more than 1100 gr. 😉.
