Homemade tomato sauce, or as the Italians call it, tomato gravy, is super easy to make homemade and tastes do much better. Cut up tomatoes, some onion, garlic, and green peppers, Italian seasoning. I'm sure there are a lot of recipes online. Most people add a tiny amount (like 1 reaspoon) of sugar into a big pot of sauce to eliminate slight bitterness.probably 1 date would work. Cooking times vary. I cook an hour or as needed. Easy peasy. Great video today.

In Mexican cooking, I like to use salsa twice. I add it into my crumbles after browning them, and let it cook in, then add it raw to the burritos, tacos, or "Tex Mex Dip." This is just refried beans, spread out on a plate, topped with the cooked crumbles and black olives, and Vegan cheeze, then microwaved till hot, then topped with chopped lettuce, salsa, and Vegan sour cream, served with the lowest sodium tortilla chips one can find, because this dip, as made, is already a salt bomb, without adding any during cooking.

    Nettles!
I know that it's not a very common food.
But they are very nutritious, readily available and cheap and definitely a good addition to every diet every now and then.
Especially the leaves of young plants in smoothies or slightly cooked as a cheap an super nutritious spinach substitute are really amazing.
They also grow almost everywhere due to the nitrogen intakes into the ecosystems through industry, traffic and agriculture even though you have to watch out for where you pick them. Would not recommend them near a busy road.
Another tip. Where I live in Central Europe and probably many other places as well the seeds of them are now ripe and can be harvested (with proper protection obviously) in masses and stored to use them during winter times.

I'm excited for this channel to reach 1 million subs at some point. Your Amazing Food video on Oats totally brought them back into my daily routine. I work construction in often 110 degree weather and folks never believe that I can do it while being vegan and healthy. But those oat cookies saved the day and saved me a lot of money. Used to just eat 3 or 4 Clif bars at work instead.
