      You think is normal for cops to stand outside, while the shooter is inside killing the children and the teachers? The cop that lost his wife, stood outside and did nothing? This cops had many shooter drills, so they where prepared for something like this. Could it been a drill? that's why the cops didn't engage the shooter? Would a real police officer stand by while his wife is inside in danger? No no one would stand outside, and let wife die. The story keeps changing, now the border patrol man changed his story, now he said that he didn't even go in. So why so much lies? I believe kid that asked a man that what are they doing there today? and the man answered, it's a training. The kid asks again, what's a training?

This man is so correct, we have ballastic vest and the students/teachers have nothing. So many wrong decisions made by officers and commander on scene, so many. Because of Columbine, protocals, polices and procedures were put in place for “all” agency across the nation to “act, find and engage” immediately with the shooter. All those officers on scene failed to follow active shooter protocals. I rather disobey my commander’s orders and get fired than live with this guilt. If I'm not mistaken initial reports were that the police were ordered not to go in and later defied that order and went in and killed the suspect. A good rule of thumb is not to Monday-morning-quarterback, and unless you've been in a situation of life or death (combat, shooting, etc), ask questions and not merely post misdirected rage. If an investigation finds fault in the actions of the on-scene commander then he should be appropriately dealt with. Let's not forget who actually killed those children.

    Most of us have children, just the thought of losing them it's an unthinkable nightmare. When I initially saw this tragedy unfold in the news, I tried to make my wife aware of what had just happened, while I tried not to sob because the pain I felt. Hearing this teacher describing those horrific long minutes , had me in tears while driving home from work. I can feel he feels guilty for the many things he believes him and others could have done to save those kids, even when he followed all the active shooter protocols. Survivor's guilt is another consequence of his life being spared . Sandy Hook should have been the last school shooting where elementary school students have to die because of teen having ascess to AR-15 rifles. The Republican party refuses to do anything because all the donors that support their party and the gun industry. Shame in them.

    • @thekamotodragon
      @thekamotodragon Před 2 lety

      it's obviously terrible this happened but brother, i gotta ask... why is everyone so fixated on Ar-15s? It really does feel like people just are ignorant about guns, crime, and everything really and are just regurgitating what the news tells them to say, like i'm sorry, but every line from your comment at the end there just seemed like scripted propaganda. I say this because targeting AR pattern rifles really makes no sense if you're actually following gun violence statistics and mass shooting trends, like most mass shootings are done with handguns, in fact most gun violence is done with handguns, and most school shootings are done with handguns, including the most deadly one ever, Virginia Tech, so it's not like the handguns are any less effective than rifles either, and rifles only make up a very small percentage of all of gun crime, they're used way more for self-defense than criminal action, so knowing this, my question isn't "why are they not targeting handguns instead?". it's just that i don't get where this targeted attack on ARs comes from, is it just because of this one event? I'm suspicious that it's just because the news tell you that this is the problem and that it's "scary looking". I'm saying all this because banning ARs will not solve the problem, these shootings will keep happening just with different guns, and this whole thing feels like a manipulated attack by media to ban "America's rifle" so that normal people can't have it.

      @Dyson Fisher I got a question for you, did you know when police are on scene and actively chasing them into a school protocol dictates they DO NOT TREAT IT AS BARRICADE BUT ARE SUPPOSED TO TREAT IT AS ACTIVE SHOOTER. The cowards came up against someone who had a gun in a room with kids and they ran BECAUSE HE SHOT AT THEM. The little girl who called 911 told the news that an officer yelled asking if anyone needed help, that is why another girl yelled back, saying "we're in here" notifying the gunman she was alive. How stupid can a cop be in a situation with kids to do that? Not that it mattered since they waited until the 8 kids alive bled out. More would have died if the border patrol hadn't arrived and did their job for them.
