      Hi Rachel! We're so glad to know you enjoy our videos. We're a tiny team and we're also trying to run our yoga studio, so we aren't able to make videos as often as we'd like. But please know it's perfectly ok to do the same practice (or same few practices) every day for a long time. We'll record some new videos as soon as we can! :) - Zelinda

    I’m so so happy to have found your videos! I’ve just completed the ‘gentle’ yoga, and found it so wonderful. I’d been at the gym the day before, and my legs were feeling pain, but this really helped! Going to do a few more sessions before starting this one, but I’m so grateful for a size inclusive video like this. It’s not sassy or patronising. Absolutely love it!

    Hi, I really like these videos, thank you. I used to do a bit of yoga several years ago and I'm trying to get back into it, but I'm not comfortable walking into a local yoga class full of skinny people so this is perfect for helping me start a home yoga practice!
    Just wondering if you have any suggestions for how to make some of the lying down postures more comfortable, other than bending my knees? I really struggle with raising my knees while lying down (like at around 18:00) because it feels like my spine is pressing against the floor. A blanket helped a little bit but not much, and I had the same problem in the gentle video as well. Is there something else I could do to work the same parts of the body but not lying down? Not sure if anyone else has found the same difficulty as me... I'm definitely not as fit and flexible as Denise. Thanks again for the videos though - I only discovered your channel a week ago but already I've managed 6 short yoga sessions and am loving it. :)

Denise makes it look so easy. Please keep making videos and continuing your wonderful instruction. I started with flexibility level one in mid March, did all three levels a week at a time, the decided to do the 7 day challenge. After many years of not doing any kind of physical yoga practice, I spent a week doing the "Gentle Yoga for Bigger Bodies" routine and loved it. Yesterday I decided that I should switch things up a bit and having liked that video I looked to see what other videos the channel had to offer (there is quite a selection!). I did the "Beginner Yoga for Bigger Bodies" routine and found it to be not enough of a challenge, so today I did this and WHOAH! That was a step up in intensity I was not expecting! My Virabhadrasana III (Warrior III) asana was embarrassing and was mostly just me wobbling around trying not to fall over. I was grateful to be home alone and not in a yoga studio surrounded by more experienced yogis when that happened. I'll have to return to this routine everyday for a while until I can do it with some level of skill. Thank you so much for putting these videos together; this channel is a true blessing.

      @yogawithzelinda  Před 3 lety +1

I didn’t realize how tight my arm and chest on that side were until I started your videos. It really helps stretch and loosen things up. I also have a connective tissue auto immune disease called scleroderma, which tightens the joints and skin and this is wonderful for getting joints and skin stretched in a nice way. My fiance recommended I start yoga to get into something again and I really denied the benefits at first but it REALLY works! Not just great for the body but I always end up feeling way more relaxed. When I was starting this. Which I need to get back too. I can't believe how flexible I can be. If my friend from school. Who is same age as me. Can loose some weight and get fit. So can I. She is also doing Yoga. I can't wait for my Hula Hoop and Exercise Ball. :) Not sure if I will be as fit as my friend. But who cares. As long as I can loose some weight and feeling better. I'd be happy. :) It may look funny bigger women doing yoga. But who cares. We can do it just like anyone else. We can be Flexible. :) Just turn on some Meditation/Zen music. And just Do it.

    These videos are saving my sanity and my spirit in quarantine! I graduated from the gentle video to this one and I really feel the difference. I did have some trouble with the twists and side bends - I feel like my top arm is going straight back on the twist, not up. Any recommended modifications? Also, do you have any videos specifically for hips and lower back? Thank you for sharing your gifts, both of you!!

      @yogawithzelinda  Před 4 lety

      Hi @Anna Miller! Yes, the arms can be tricky in the side bends and twists. It depends a lot on the tightness of the shoulders. If it helps, keep the hand that is meant to go up toward the ceiling on your hip for now so that you can focus on lengthening the spine and the twisting aspect instead. We can figure out the arm a little later. I'll see if I can record a video to explain in better detail. :)

    I just started yoga few days ago and I love it so far. I'm doing this practice whenever I don't do cardio in a day or when my backpain strikes.
    In this practice, I'm struggling at 25:00 position. Both wrists kinda hurt. The blanket helps but I don't last long coz it hurts again. Also, I'm struggling on the last posture, I can't bend forward that much 😂
    All in all, I love this yoga practice. Looking forward for more videos ❤️

      Hello Angelica, welcome to yoga and to my channel! Here's a video I made a few months ago about what to do when your wrists hurt: czcams.com/video/jBe-IsF1C-0/video.html Sometimes the best option is to avoid doing the posture that causes pain for a while. You can do a different kind of practice, then come back to this one later.
      Here you'll find my monthly practice calendar, which gradually increases in intensity throughout the month: www.rryogaroom.com/youtube-practice-calendar.
      Also, I'm currently doing a Beginner Yoga 7 Day Challenge. I livestream the sessions at 7 a.m. Central time (GMT-6) and here is the playlist of the recordings: czcams.com/play/PLFr6eAcUWqfAqtt6ORfeC3pZ1Y1Cm_vSS.html
      I'd be happy set up a short call with you (free of charge) to talk with you about your back pain, how yoga can help, and when to be cautious. Please email me if you'd like to set that up (info@rryogaroom.com). Otherwise, please let me know if you have more questions along the way! :)

I do have a question. I notice on the breaths Denise doesn't open her mouth...on my breath out I have a tendency to breath out through my mouth. Does this matter? Thank you!

    • @yogawithzelinda
      @yogawithzelinda  Před 3 lety

      Hello Della! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos - thank you so much for sharing them with your friends! To answer your question, in yoga we try to regulate our breathing by breathing in and out through the nose (unless there is some kind of obstruction that prohibits breathing through the nose). The idea is that since the nostrils are smaller openings, we have more control breathing through the nose than through the mouth. Also, we can consider it a mindfulness practice to consciously breathe through the nose. Try it and see if it's comfortable for you. Let me know if you have any follow up questions. :)

      Hello @Rabab Fadehl Al Baghli, thank you for asking! We definitely don't want you to do any kind of movement that causes pain. Three options:
      1. Substitute a standing version as shown here: czcams.com/video/tkvWsttQVew/video.html
      2. Rather than put your hands down, put your forearms down. In this case it might be comfortable to clasp your hands.
      3. Skip the posture and rest.
