  • Katherine Pakradouni, Horticulturist, Educator, and Owner of Seed to Landscape, discusses the Southern California region as a "biodiversity hotspot", challenges to biodiversity within urban environments, and local ecosystem regeneration strategies. Katherine shares thoughts stemming from her local work on "micro-forests” in Los Angeles that was derived from the concepts developed by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki.
    The POPS + PARTS Symposium was presented by the City of West Hollywood Urban Design & Architecture Studio and Green Team and examines the dynamic, changing relationship between public and private open space in West Hollywood.
