You act like only 6 teams were affected by the introduction of the expansion teams. Yet the draft works in such a way that the top teams fall even further back in the draft, making it harder to sustain long term success. Furthermore, the only years that the expansion teams were given a plethora of draft picks were 2010 (Gold Coast) and 2011 (GWS). All other drafts were decided by ladder position and trades, not including players taken that were ineligible for the draft. Meanwhile, Gold Coast were "gifted" those picks, yet still hasn't made the finals in 8 years of existence. In contrast, GWS has made the finals 3 years in a row, including two top 4 finishes.

To think that in 2004 and 2005 Hawthorn finished in the bottom 3 of the AFL ladder and since then they have gone on to win 4 flags they've won 4 flags in 9 years and probably will be the last team to ever win 3 premierships in a row its an amazing story. in 2011 we lost a preliminary final to Collingwood a match we shouldn't of won. we then lost the 2012 grand final fair and square to the Swans we then came back in 2013 very strong and won the flags against Freo. but in both 2014 and 2015 Hawthorn faced huge adversity in 2014 we lost our coach for 5 games, 8 premiership players missed 8 plus week through injury and we lost the best forward in the game Buddy Franklin to the swans even despite of that we finished equal first and smashed the Swans. in 2015 we still had issues we lost multiple players again through injury, Roughead had cancer and our Assistant coach Lost his son and ontop of that we got smashed by West Coast in the qualifying final and had to make the grand final the hardest way possible we had too travel back to Melbourne and verse Adelaide which we did then we had to travel back to Perth to face off a Fresh Fremantle which we did and then we had to travel back to Melbourne to beat West Coast and not only did we beat them we smashed them. We are the best team of the modern era of FOOTY

When the Hawks beat Geelong in the prelim you knew at least the next two premierships would be won by us. Instead we exceeded that and won 3 and became the greatest team ever and we would of win in 16 if it wasn’t for that snake Ishank Smith.
