This concept as a business idea is genius. It’s something some people love to do and something some people can’t stand but want done for them.
I live in LA. I have friends who do this. They're usually very highly trained and completely in tune with the foodie inner circles...but they opt out of traditional restaurant work because they are pursuing something else, like art. If it weren't for the fact that I find a lot of pleasure in cooking, I'd use their services. They save you in the long run because they do the shopping and know where all the good deals are. I mean what normal person will travel to the next county just to pick up lobter at $5 per pound?
Lauren Conrad it’s such a great concept
Lauren Conrad it’s my business and I’m happy to say it’s going so well. And I get so much joy nourishing people’s bodies for them so they can focus on their mind and soul ❤️
this is not genius. just work from 1 location make multiple batches and supply your clients. you can do more clients with less time
You were great on the Eric Andre show
Being disabled, I could use a meal prep service. Never thought about that before.
Paranormal Seeker that’s such a great idea!
It would be great for me too. But for the quality of the food she is making I wouldn't be able to afford it. As I don't work because I can't! Anything I eat in the day has to be microwavable as I sometimes forget I left the oven on with food in it 🤦(part of my illness). Everything she makes looks so fresh though 🙂
@@lucya3359 I understand that. Sometimes I can't leave my bed because my legs won't work. But it would be nice to have so I'd actually eat during the day. Plus Proper nutrition is a huge thing for helping manage the bodys pain and the mind. I feel the best when I have proper nutrition. Also dinners would be nice for my fam on days I can't stand long enough to cook and the hubby is working 16hrs a day 6 days a week. I use to meal prep dinners for the freezer with my mom and sis in law. We would get together and cook all day.. I'd make 3 different meals for 3 family's and they'd each do 3 different meals for 3 family's, then we'd swap. It worked out nicely. I just can't do all day cooking anymore.
@@imablank9701 I completely understand, I hardly leave my bed (chronic pain) and am in a wheelchair. Proper nutrition is so important
Or just use skip the dishes or any other food delivery service, order from healthy places, for sure it's cheaper then having a private chef.
this might actually be my dream job
Bella Biddle go for it!
You can start next week.
Yes, I encourage you to get into it if you enjoy cooking! It doesn't have to be a dream. You just have to learn how to obtain clients.
I wish someone would pay me to meal prep for myself. Then mayebe I’d actually do it 😂
AMEN
Girl. Same.
I would do it if someone bought me the groceries
You are hired!
Yea ….? You’d be paying yourself. How much money you’d be saving every week
What a terrific idea for a business, not just making money but you get to do something you like and provide something so worthwhile to people! I'd recommend doing this for seniors but then again they might pay you in Werther's haha
There's a whole business in cooking for seniors actually! This is a luxury service, so luxury prices are recommended. Not all seniors are living off low incomes.
If she can afford airpods she's doing something right
Yeah that s what I thought
Billie is my life stealing isn’t that hard 🤭
Mine were free with my phone. So were my daughter’s. Neither of us use them!
If you have literally any job, you can save $100
@@powerpuff4ever I need six figures before I can try to convince myself to pay someone $100 to snip the wires off some earbuds
I’m honestly so impressed omg! Her dishes look aesthetically pleasing and very delicious.
Like damn, my perception of meal prepping had been thrown out the window because this is a whole new level!
Also, very cute cat :)
My meal prep is boiling a 12 pack of eggs so i have something to eat when im running out of the apartment to catch the bus.
Egg farts on the bus are so wrong 🤣🤣🤣
lol
That's smart! 2 eggs a day
**coMpLetELy oFf ToPic** but HER HAIR IS GORGEOUS😍
it should be in a hairnet though
This is honestly SO COOL and has definitely reignited my meal prepping flame.
This has done the opposite and made me want to hire a meal prepper or maid lol
I wonder how much she charges, or how she charges etc. This was very interesting!
Yeah, I was wondering the same. She seems to have a nice place, so it must pay decently.
Wondering the same, also because she doesn't have prices on her website (Checked because I was curious)
I guess it depends on dietary needs, portions, and such
its probably pretty expensive, you have to count the money spent on grocerys too, and groceries are not cheap to start off
so I basically do this for the family I nanny for. Except I cook dinner. Instagram aesthetic, restaurant/casual/healthy stuff but indulgent.
Tonight I did lettuce cups with half ground turkey, half Smart Ground some popcorn shrimp and made potstickers with various sauces I made.
If I had to charge for the cooking dinner alone it'd be at least $100 a night plus groceries. So I guess I'd charge the same for 5 days of meal Prep. (I don't recommend more cause the food gets kind ehh by day 5 in my opinion)
The wife is pescatarian and the husband is a major carnivore but he has gout and really shouldn't eat a lot of meat. That's why I used smart ground for the wife's lettuce cups and ground turkey mixed with Smart ground for the husband and child!
I typically spend $20-50 per meal to feed 3* adults and a child (*they encourage me to add a portion for myself and take any leftovers, though I've gotten better and usually only make enough for one portion of leftovers which the wife likes to eat for lunch the next day).
Cost is not an issue for this family so I get to play with fun ingredients and basically have no restrictions so sometimes I spend $60 on Sea Bass alone or get Lobster just 'cause. However, I usually try to see what they have in the fridge and add on from there. I always photograph the food because I think I'd like to eventually like to make an instagram for it and do it like this girl. It's awesome!
I thought about doing this before i knew this was a thing and people laughed at me and said nobody would pay for that. You show there is a demand for this. Thank you.
she probably charges a fortune for this but honestly? I support that. get them coinz girl
i would definitely use this service. I work crazy long hours and I only get about 3 hours in the evening before sleep. It would be nice to not have to spend one of those hours figuring out food.
Can't you meal prep during the weekend.
@@timowthie i get almost no free time during the working week, I even have to work a lot during the weekend, so every minute of free time I get i want to spend enjoying myself or socialising.
@@tipsycat27 let me guess you live in America?
@@timowthie i live in the UK
@@tipsycat27 why do you have to work so much? Do you live in London?
I thought meal prep was getting things ready to cook later on. She is fully planning, cooking and making each meal. Kinda like hellowfresh but made and clean kitchen. Good work girl!
She cooked things, so all the client has to do is simply reheat the dish.
I guess the two things apply to meal prep, but i would call the "preparing the ingredients for cooking later on" action "mise en place" more than meal prep.
@@saraangel6696 mise en place is prepairing a workplace in gastronomy.
Same i thot she wil just prep it
i want to know the history. like, how did she even come up with the idea and actually got clients
Working in the food industry as a line cook for many years , I can say this is a great. Not only do you get to be creative, but you get paid to do what you love.
I do this since I am pregnant, its so fun, I have made so many new recipes, my client loves low carb foods. I honestly love this job more than any other jobs I have had
Girly AK could u let me help get a job in this????
So cool :)
@Maria Barrera If your good at cooking, I did allot of keto and low carb meals, I started at $11.50 an hour and after 3 months she loved my service, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning she gave me a raise to $12. Talk to a potential customer and hash out your skills and what is expected and be timely. I used the website care.com to find clients but there are many websites you can use
Thats awesome, i used to work in meal prep to be sent out by delivery for pregnant women. Its nice to see someone vlogging in my neighborhood in BK. Looks Yum!
Awesome video! I’d love to see more videos with Erica, and this kind of content.
0:15 Anyone else think that side angle is weird?... Side angles are usually only a bit off the to side, not completely _at_ the side.
or her nose.
Ha! I thought the same thing lol
I work in a neighbor's garage which they turned part into an industrial kitchen to do basically this but in bulk and then people come to her house to pick up their food, delivery is an extra fee, I think this is also awesome.
I love the insight :D Thank you for sharing!
I was also meal prepping professionally. At one point I had a lot of clients and started to cook in my kitchen and deliver. It was so much easier to organize ;)
the music is incredibly annoying sounds like a phone call or alarm going off
@South I will give a tip whenever you are watching a cooking video and there is annoying music, but they are not talking just open another tab and listen to your own music
Agreed!
Saekoa ikr
Yoir user name is so true tho
Yah
Girrrrl your hair is booomb, also you’re so sweet and CONSIDERATE, loved this video ❤️
I love cooking and it's great to see how respectable the job is in the US. In China, when someone cooks for you and takes out the trash, it's called "ayi," and no parent would allow their kids, if ever educated in college, to do that when they graduate. Part of the reason is pay, but also this profession is generally not considered part of the decent middle class life.
Interesting how your culture varies, in the US someone who meal preps and cooks for a client like that is usually revered, if not slightly famous in their circles. However, cleaning people are still looked down upon, because it is a low paying job, and thought of as low skill.
Yeah same in India
I truly love seeing her videos! I need to see more!
RESPECT!! She's my new hero!!
Love it keep up the amazing work, bringing healthy and delicious food to people, all while doing something you love! GREAT JOB
Didn’t even know this was a job but now I respect people who do this so much☺️
I’m a fan of your videos during the pandemic lock down, and now I am taking Nutrition-Dietetics degree for college. I aspire to have the same job as you to help and provide nutritious meal 😊 thank you for the inspiration! 💘
I need a service like this in my area. Being disabled makes cooking hard, as well as just getting stuff from the store.
It's very hard to prepare and cook when disabled. I completly understand. I'm looking into my areas technical career school for students to come prep meals for me and my fam.
"I'm blowing too much $$ on takeout. I really need to eat at home more and take lunch to work." Next day: hires someone else to make the brown bag lunches.
This is amazing! Great video!!
Great video! It gave me real points to follow. Keep them coming ;)
Well Done... Your one amazing girl.😊
Love the video :) You're killin' it!
This girl is brilliant! What a genius idea.
I’m one of those people who used to pay someone else to meal prep. I’m on a budget now but man it was AWESOME to have someone else do it.
Lots of respect for the hustle!
This is something I would love to do , definitely a need for it out there
Alison Edwards ok my name is allison edwards and it just freaked me out because i thought i commented! 😂😂
She does so much work and saves so many hours of work for these people. From menu plans to grocery shopping to taking out the trash at the end. I completely understand why someone would want to hire someone like her
Great service! Keep it up
Thank you fur sharing! Wish you lived here in Vegas! Would hire you immediately! 😉👍
I’d love to see some type of composting routine it’s so important for everyone but especially those in the culinary field!!
I needed this after my surgery. To be honest I still need this. This is great for people that want to eat healthy and can't cook for whatever reason..and have money lol
Omg this video was so amazing!!! Thank you for breaking everything down!!
The Hungry Vegan
Hello!
I am a personal chef and gathered all my knowledge about meal plan business in this EBook and it's now available for the public!
Take this quarantine time to learn a new skill and make money working from home. Enjoy!!!
transactions.sendowl.com/products/78270319/84DD2EF7/view
This girl is killing it. I want to do this
I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE!!!!
I started doing this as a side biz specifically for peeps who are gluten free. I have Celiac Disease, & love to cook, & figures lots of GF peeps either don’t cook or don’t want to cook & have constraints around finding safe, GF food. It’s now becoming my primary business (& currently only 1 of my clients actually lives a gf lifestyle)!
This would be great to advertise at a gym, college campus, daycare anywhere people are either too busy or out of ideas for cooking. There's a HelloFresh in my town making a killing. She's giving me so many ideas.
Looks delicious! You are such a boss lady! And btw your hair is gorge 😍
I meal prep as a side hustle for 2 coworkers! It’s fun!
Using this for a high school Culinary Arts/Entrepreneurship class :)
Nice business at the same time you love what you are doing coz it's your passion 😘😘
This is fabulous!
LOVE miss KITTY SO ADORABLE :)) I APPRECIATE WHAT YOU DO BCUS ITS ALSO WHAT I DO, JUST IN A DIFFERENT CITY :))))) great job!!
I just found this vid and instantly subscribed to you. I looove this video!! I am super inspired to do this with Keto food. I am now keto and I love cooking. You should offer an outline of how you advertise, charge etc, etc, etc and sell it to people interested ( that aren't in your area..? ) and email it to them. I would certainly buy it :)
I'm a personal chef and I can relate to this. Cooking for private families to dinner parties to large events. Except when I'm in the home I'm in charge of everything. From the meal plan, prep, serving, and all of the cleaning at the end. In all I'm there for an average of 5 hours. But nothing is more rewarding then making them happy.
I wonder if the client pays her in full before she starts working? Menu suggestion fee? How do you ensure that clients reimburse you for groceries you bought and othed things like that? Would love to hear a skeleton business model
Usually you calculate out total acquisition cost, and then you have to decide what rate/percent you think is fair to be payed. Something similar to a florist.
@@ItsWhoIAmItsHowILive acquisition as in purchasing the required ingredients? i assume most of the cost comes from the labor aspect so you'd be charging quite a bit if this was a big part of your income... sounds hard to find clients
also how tf does she get into their houses?
@@KD-dr3gy she probably has a key 🤷 like a nanny or housekeeper would. Especially if it's a regular client, it just makes it more convenient.
@@shawneeherendeen haha yes I figured. I am a nanny and didn't have keys till about a year in and they were loose family friends. I guess there are a lot of apps and services now that require home access so it's not as weird for people to give a kinda stranger access to their house.
Amazing service!
I love this video. I meal prep weekly on my own and now I’ve got my gears turning as to whether I can do this as another side hustle🤔
This was so cool!! What an awesome job
This girl deserves a series.
This is a really good idea and negates the need to pay one of those online businesses that send you food that's heinously overpriced and you have to cook it all
I ain't gonna lie. I'm more dazed by her natural beauty than anything else 🥰
She is very neat and organized!
Loved this can we get more day in the life’s very interesting to see how ppl go about their day
I I meal prep for myself & my uncle who's also interested in Vegan Vegetarian Pescatarian eating options.
I would love to be able to do this as a side job.
Thank you for sharing!!!!
This is actually already pretty common amongst indian-americans in areas like DC, New Jersey, and New York for busy families/single people!
Brilliant idea
You’re amazing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I like this video would like to see more when you meal prep for clients
Nice I need to learn how to be this organized while cooking lol
This is such a cool idea for a job!
My mind is blown. I never thought this was a thing! (Meal prep for $$, not meal prep.) This is such a great video. 😋🥑🌰🍞🍅
Fascinating!!
this was a great vid!!!
plot twist: she breaks into ppls homes and makes them meals cause shes a frickin stalker
I'm going to culinary school soon and I have been thinking about career options (post-college) and this looks IDEAL! How do you get started (eg. get clients, market your services, etc.).
I have never wanted to be a chef or a culinary anything but I am so jealous of this job.
hair is stunning!!!!
Such a good idea for a side hustle 👏👏👏
Looks amazing and delicious.
Love this!
I have the same bowl for my cat! But we use the blue and white one for water and the black and white one for food.
Her hair is literal goals
I didn't know this was a possible job. Seems really nice.
Hey! im upcoming on the meal prep journey, & actually have started my own side gig to meal prep for people! But i have a question, how do you kind of set yourself up? like do you charge for sessions? or do you charge for your meals you make? do you plan out your menus based on what they're looking for? or do you have like a set menu where they can choose from or tweak a bit? I would love your feedback on this stuff. Maybe just some guidance? Thank you so much! :) Have a great day!
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BY THE WAY!
Wahou! I have never think to put mozzarella on the spaghetti courge. It's a really great idea. I will do it !
Best regards from a frenchie who love to watch after American way of cooking
I wonder if I could do this in my little hometown. That would be so much fun
Ohh how I wish you lived near me!! I try to meal prep as much as possible but it gets tricky sometimes.
so she’s like personal chef
yeah basically
This job sounds fun ✨
Thank you for this great video! Question, how much do you charge for your services? Im thinking about doing this myself! I really appreciate it!
I love it!
WOW so smart!!!
Her hair looks great.
I feel like professional meal prepper would be my side hustle to do on weekends plus I'm not a culinary student even though I cook a lot lol
