For those of you wanting to see more film on Trey Lance, check out Every Play from his College Career: czcams.com/video/vi9JU1wwlhU/video.html
You will find more passing plays in other games as NDSU did not pass often in this video versus James Madison.

A lot of raw talent, but I agree that its very raw. Not saying he couldn't end up being a really good quarterback at the next level, but his stepbacks are sloppy, and his feet are all over the place when he sets to throw. Those things, as well as better reading of the defense, will be critical to his potential success in the NFL

On the 44-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter, Trey Lance's top speed was 21.54 mph based on GPS tracking. Only 12 times did NFL players post faster times while running in 2020. Raheem Mostert (4.32 40 time) of the SF 49ers had the two fastest times - 23.09 & 22.73 mph. KC's Tyrek Hill's (4.29 40 time) fastest GPS tracked run in 2020 was 21.9 mph. This was easily his worst game that I've seen so far. But having said that, he's the least accurate of the 5 projected first round picks pretty comfortably. The reason he might go top 5 is because teams will see a QB with a good arm and good legs that is already comfortable running a system similar to what they're running in the NFL and he'll also only be 20 years old on draft night. It'll boil down to whether or not they think his accuracy is correctable and how accurate they think he needs to be to make it work with everything else he brings to the table. Josh Allen was similarly inaccurate in college (and a much worse decision maker) and obviously that pick has worked out very well for Buffalo. That kind of improvement isn't easy though.

      @wade5941 Před 2 lety

      So much for these highlights

  • @emiiiliioquiinttanall3569

    After watching this:
    *Negatives*
He can’t scan the field, if his first option is covered he goes crazy and starts running around.
He’s not accurate in the deep ball if his receiver isn’t wide open.
His timing is awful, especially on the deep balls. He got bailed out of at least 3 terrible deep throws by penalties.
He’s accuracy overall is average, not great.
He’s more of a runner than a passer, at least 70% of the plays were run plays. So his arm might not be developed enough to be a NFL arm yet.
    *Positives*
He has great pocket presence and can avoid the rush if he needs to.
He’s extremely athletic and can naturally do most things pretty well.
Great at extending and keeping the play alive.
Great runner of the ball, can identify man coverage and take off.
    Strong arm.
    *Draft prospect*
I’d give him a B as a prospect, high ceiling for him, he’s a project tho, not a day 1 starter if you draft him, he needs great coaching and someone to teach him the ropes. I’d take him 2-3 round, pushing a late first. Also he played fcs, and ndsu dominates fcs, he was playing down to competition.
