In this video I will show you how I store my 18v batteries for when I'm on the go in a 22" Ridgid Pro Organizer. Thank you for watching, and I will see you on the next one.
If you remove the plastic insert from the top, you can stand the batteries on end and fit quite a few more batteries in it. I have one set up with batteries too and it comes in pretty handy.
That's a sweet trick. Thanks for letting me know. Glad I'm not the only one who stores batteries in this box. I think its one of the best value boxes you can buy.
Nice battery organizer thumbs up. I ended up buying a multi charger that holds and charges 4 batteries , when they get done charging the led lights turn green and then I unplug the cord from the 110 volt outlet and leave the batteries in the charger and so the charger is like a battery organizer when unplugged. I just bought a Rigid box like yours , I love it , In the end it came down to the Milwaukee or the Rigid and I bought the Rigid because I liked the black over the red , both nice boxes though
Thanks. I really appreciate the good feedback. Those multi chargers are pretty sweet and to store them on there like that is a nice idea. I've always said the Milwaukee and Ridgid box quality are both top of the line. I don't think you can go wrong with either and with the Ridgid being half the cost, its hard to pass up.
If they make a rolling tool box which opens from the front , that's the one I'll buy. I have the first Gen Rigid tool box set up. They are super durable. Their handles are the best!!. They also are easy to stack and unstack. Unless your Hercules, you need to unstack , restack for going up stairs..
You should check out their 28" job box. I think that is what you mean by a rolling box that opens from the front. I love how durable they are and yes, there handles are awesome. Here is a link to a video I did on the one I think you are asking for. czcams.com/video/f9GxWGFtg0I/video.html
@TGL Today no I mean like the Stanley, it has . 1. Bottom roller that opens from the front, 2. Drawers large, 3 . Drawers small, 4,. The top tool box. You can access all while they are stacked I'm a customers home. Unfortunately they just aren't built rugged , or durable.
Great idea ! I'm thinking maybe a Makita 5.0 in each of the 6 bins, and a double rapid charger sitting sideways down the middle, with maybe a 1/2" sheet of foam over the top for cushioning.
I like that idea. I did play around with using this organizer for my extra chargers as I sometimes borrow my tools out and they need a charger. I may still do that if I see the organizer go on sale I will pick another one up.
I have my box lid gutted and all the dividers and cups out. I can fit a Makita double charger and a dozen batteries if need be (currently have 9 with room for more). It's a great box for a battery box. I also have a second one set up with my Makita drill, impact, spare single charger, and most of my bits (potentially all of my bits if I reorganize my longer spades into something that fits in this setup)
I also store my batteries in this box. I have dewalt batteries and i dont use foam. I keep the dividers in and I just lay them on their side on top of each other ,4 - 4ah batteries on one side and a 9ah and 12ah flex on the other and i keep the center open for the charger and misc. bits and things.
I am looking forward to using the cooler box for my batteries, then I won't have to worry about leaving them in the truck in the heat. I should also be able to store the various drills that I have in that box as well. I live in Florida and it gets super hot in the truck.
I can't imagine how hot it must get down there. I know it was 79 out today and when I got in my truck I'm pretty sure it was more like 90. That might work really well. Do you plan on putting an ice pack in there at the start of each day or just going to see how it does keeping the heat out?
Thanks, I think it works well. I've since learned you can take the top part of the box out so you can fit the Ryobi batteries standing up incase you didn't know.
I do not know. I heard a rumor they had some in the makings but as of now it looks to be just a rumor. To the best of my knowledge the cold box wasnt ever released. My guess is the way world is right now might have slowed down any plans ridgid has or had. I'm really hoping a drawer system and some half boxes are coming. From looking at the top of this newest box, I really think they set it up for some new half boxes.
Indeed it does. It is its own injection molded part. You'll have to locate the retention points keeping it in, and using something like a couple of stiff, narrow putty knives to get it out. You will gain a significant increase in the interior volume of the organizer, but the potential downsides are (1) if you want to use the side-bins after that, there's no upper face to seat into the open tops of the bins... so they can hop around or spill their contents... and (2) perhaps a slight reduction in the structural integrity of the lid. But I don't think #2 is really an issue, unless you plan to put a lot of weight on the closed box (it's not a stepstool to begin with!)... so there's that.
@@floobertuber I might still do it. I think for right now, I like my battery set up so I will keep the lid in. But I was looking at it and wondering how to get it out exactly so thank you for the pointers.
Im on m12 m18 makita rigid octane ryobi bosh dewalt flex and now with this 99.00 battery combo at lowes i have the v20 radio... I store them in hard bottom bags stacked and secure I have so many batteries its insane. So I to would like a better solution to keep my batteries safe and neat 👌 but I'd need several more boxes I already have ridgid boxes
Wow!!! I have to say that sounds like a nice collection of tools. I've tried very hard to stop myself from joining any other battery platforms mostly due to having to have so many batteries and they are obviously not cheap. It took me a while to figure out what and how I wanted to do it. I actually store my batteries on a shelf and only use the rigid box for transportation. If I had as many batteries as you I would probably look into either the Dewalt organizers which are currently $9.99 at HD or use this Ridigid box as its the cheapest and very durable. I'd separate them by brand as well then. If you come up with any neat idea let me know I love organizing. Thanks for watching.
I use DeWalt tough system 1.0 my top box is my battery storage for my Ridgid batteries and bosch and have a few lose tools in there ds150 got enough room for my needs i got a ds400 box and a ds450 rolling box i got two of them they fit my needs i wanted a Ridgid modular system the full set up but my hd had none in stock checked other stores I did have them they canceled my order three times to have it shipped to a store near me at the time the hd had the DeWalt ds 450. For $59.00 free shipping order want through so then i ordered a xl ds400 box from Amazon along with a DS 150 got them both in an excellent deal probably going to get one more box
Can't beat a good deal on any of the top 3 modular systems in my opinion. The nice thing is, you can now get the Toughsystem 2.0 box to go with your 1.0 and then you can utilize the new 6 bin small parts organizer that DeWalt has for the 2.0. That's crazy your order got cancelled three times. Sorry to hear that.
