$20?....Deal! (Oddly Satisfying Lawn Care Mowing)

- This was a case where I was able to help someone get the yard back in shape for a pretty substantial discount and they were able to help me by providing a setting for an entertaining video. As always, making videos that support my family is the MAIN reason I underbid and film jobs like this.
Mowing and Weed Eating (string trimming) tall grass for a family going through some setbacks with their lawn care equipment.
I used the Ventrac 4520 with tough cut mower deck and ECHO SRM3020U string trimmer to clean up this tall grass messy property.
The homeowner's lawn mower was out of commission and wasn't able to handle cutting this tall grass. They saw a Facebook post I made locally seeking out folks who needed help with messy lawns in exchange for letting me film as that can lead to more money in Ad Sense revenue than the job would be worth to begin with. After I swung by to look at the place I knew I could help them out with the heavy duty equipment I have on hand, and it would also make a good lawn mowing video to put on CZcams.

Thank you for helping these people. I volunteer for a non-profit and we get so many calls from disabled and/or elderly clients who need help with yardwork. Most COULD maintain their yard, but at some point (often when the client was in the hospital) the yard got out of hand, the grass is tall, and they can't catch up. All they need is a lawn reset, so to speak. I wish I could find someone in my area to help them, like you have.
They would have to have a good YT subscriber base to get the views to make it worthwhile. These YT lawn video channels are not non-profit.

Tim here, Sheri's husband, I find it quicker to weedeat first so when I mow it cuts up the clippings. That being said you have a wicked machine and same skills, awesome video.

Thanks for leaving in the bits with the camera blowing over and over heating. Makes the videos more "human" and shares some lessons for anyone else wanting to film outdoors.. Great job on the lawn too - huge change and a big help to the people too I am sure.

I find it oddly satisfying mowing my lawn in a circular pattern, starting at the outside perimeter and moving inward in concentric patterns. Much more fun and interesting than going back and forth. That being said, thank you for helping these people for so little money. After all, it's all about caring and sharing in these challenging times.
I feel your pain with the overheating, happened to me a few times causing me to loose some good footage or shut down on the key moments 🤦♂️😉 nicely done 👍

Big Red handled that tough job with ease. Good thing the house had ole school metal under pining. String trimmer would have wrecked it. Hey was that a big field mouse 🐀by the number 5 sign string trimming 🤣
The Ventrac is one cool machine. GCITurf did a video of a property he started with the tough cut and went over again with the finish mower. Came out great. That would be more than a 20 dollar cut, regardless of video income.
Let's see, 105 degrees:
1. Would a nice breeze help? Yes, check.
2. Oh wait, will the breeze blow my camera over more than once? Um, uncheck.
3. Wait again, but the breeze might help the camera not to overheat.

Great video Brad. Here in Nashville the heat index has routinely hung between 100 and 115 the last month or so.
Today was a chilly 97 degrees, LOL. And I've been mowing a few yards with a tiny push mower. At least you just sat and drove around. 😉😉😉

Man, I can smell that hot, dry grass through the video. I don't miss living in places like that.
I can see that Ventrac mower deck has one big advantage over your old zero turn. It doesn't side discharge, so doesn't spray grass all over the road.
A couple years ago I bought an Exmark rear discharge mostly because I have to mow in some narrow places and I love it. I've found it's finicky about keeping the under deck clean otherwise you get clumping but I do 3 acres and scrape it every third time or so.

The bike-handle rig on the string trimmer is excellent for uneven terrain, especially ditches. Provides good control and is a bit easier on arms and back.
I wonder what happened to that trailer? Looks like someone circled it pounding in it with a ball-peen hammer.

You were out in some HEAT. How nice that your skills and equipment were "just what was needed". About 10:57 there is a bewildered little critter being evicted from vegetation. Nice you made sure the drain pipe was clear for drainage. That was a nice cleanup. Back to doable. Looks good.

Smarter Every Day did a video on trimmer line, but he calls it a weed eater. One video is a year old, and two videos are two years old.
I use the echo black diamond or black widow I cant remember exactly. But that stuff it cuts through small trees & thick weeds like nothing.
Depends on what you use you should soak it the day before in a 5 gallon bucket of water it keeps the line more flexible alot of people like stihl and echo black diamond I run echo in my string trimmer
