  • It has become way to commonly accepted for promoters to charge artists to open for national acts. Especially in Hip-Hop, EDM, and Latin Music. Artists should not have to pay to go to work. They should get paid to go to work. Here are four alternative strategies that promoters and venues can pay local artists.

    Would love a video on putting on a great show and what that looks like for upcoming artists performing to new people .

      That sounds like a good idea. So, how a new artist could play a show and have a good turnout and smooth day working with a venue? Something along those lines? Thank you!

      @@KDazee saved this on my list. This would be a good two-parter. Focusing on doing one a week, so it might be a few weeks. I'll post it here once it's live. Thank you for the idea!

    SO I HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME. I WAS ASKED TO PERFORM AND THE PROMOTER DID NOT PAY ME AND SAID HE WAS IN A "PICKLE" WHAT COULD I DO IN THIS SITUATION? NOTHING WAS WRITTEN DOWN JUST WORD OF MOUTH DEAL. CAN I SUE OR NO?

    • @chrisgoyzueta
      @chrisgoyzueta  Před rokem +1

      That sucks to hear. I’m sorry that happened. This is why I create content like this to help inspire change. Unfortunately, suing will be your word against his if you don’t have it in writing. Best thing you can do is call them out or send me their name and I’ll add them to a list I’m creating along with some others in the industry.

    Disagree I will pay to open , I will pay to get on the radio. It’s cheap marketing artist need to invest in themselves

      Many different philosophies and ways to do things. I just think if you have a good product and content, that money is spent better learning how to properly run digital ads, and sell tickets for people to come see you. Never said not to spend money on marketing. I just think there are better more productive ways to build your career. Best of luck!

      @@chrisgoyzueta I run nights and use digital ads and I’m one of the best in the world you’re a top 1% advertiser in the world if you can get cpa for 8 dollars a person. So yea if a show has 1000 people paying 3-500 bucks instead of running my own show is absolutely worth it
