  • You may have noticed for years that many artists don't play Florida, and just skip the state all together. This has nothing to do with politics, it's been happening way before controversial leaders. This video explains why some artists skip the state of Florida on their tours.

What's that sound? I have Tourette Syndrome. Happy to chat about it!

Great take. I live in Miami and I have to travel for R&B shows I want to see. I never thought about the length of travel it takes down to Miami. It definitely takes 8 hours just to get out of FL. And you’re right only certain genres do well here.

Great video Chris! I'm a Touring Tribute artist; developing a National Tour; playing some small theaters in the State of Florida; Will have to rely on a Regional Band to make it work given expense of Touring these days.

I wonder why artists skip past Las Vegas & choose to go to AZ & Cali when both are 4 hours away

@@chrisgoyzueta yes it would. We have some really good house shows in citus county and lutz, fl. Bri bagwell (Texas read dirty female singer) played their last year. But I know some of the house shows have a ton of sponsors to make those happen. I think some of the artists play the house shows for a more "intimate feel" versus the big venues. As a fan its really cool experience. But these are independent artists not signed to huge labels. And I also see them hop around to orlando, tamps and possible gainesville in same 4 day stretch. So I am assuming they dont have to sign the contract that says they cant play in a near by city in x amounts of days. The die hard fans go to every show in florida and even take off friday work to go. And some of them are also great friends with band.

HOB is great, but massive 2,100 cap venue. Other options in Orlando for smaller artist are the Beacham (1,250 cap) The Plaza live (1,250 cap), and the Social (450 cap).
