    That was a nice calm hive of bee's to work with. I know you prefer to having older comb to frame up but that white comb just looks so clean and tasty with wonderful honey!! The homeowner looked like he could have been one of my relatives, tall with white hair 😆. Great video thanks to Good Time Charlie. God Bless you both!!!

      The new comb is so beautiful, but due to the weight of the nectar, it turns to mush almost as soon as it is touched. Thankfully I was able to salvage some of it and get it framed up. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. Until the next one, God's peace Phil.

    • @JeffHorchoff
      @JeffHorchoff  Před měsícem

      Yes they did, and they had it removed. It is a very common occurrence to have bees reoccupy a space they previously lived in as the area is impregnated with the smell of propolis. Unfortunately, that smell can not be removed or covered over which is why the bees return, they smell it. This is the reason the entrance or opening the bees used to get into the space MUST be sealed up. Thanks for watching. Until the next one, God's peace.

      Não, o Bee Vac não é um aspirador normal. Como o aspirador de abelhas é especialmente projetado com uma sucção muito baixa, há quase zero mortes toda vez que removo abelhas usando o aspirador de abelhas. Obrigado por assistir, e espero que você confira mais de minhas aventuras de luta de abelhas/resgate de abelhas e me diga o que você acha delas. Privet is considered an invasive species in US but it is very useful for bees for pollen and honey. If it is useful, why consider it invasive unless we can replace it with natives is my question. 😊

    do they get mad if you cut through brood or squish adults?

    • @JeffHorchoff
      @JeffHorchoff  Před měsícem

      Unlike humans, bees do not get mad, they simply react to the situation at hand, and in a sense, they are not emotional but rather reactionable. So yes, it is not a good idea to kill adults or brood in a hive, but it does happen unintentionally often. Very good question. • @phillee2814
      @phillee2814 Před měsícem

      Ten days, if the flow is on, and for a swarm - swarms are loaded up with all they can carry and are predisposed to start building. If you can keep them supplied with undrawn waxed foundation they will keep going, too. If you have somewhere to store some, it is worth swapping out a frame or two as they build it, as freshly drawn comb is great for baiting a swarm trap, if you don't have any old used comb.
