    You should sell these. This looks really professional.

      Hi Eddie, I had thought about it. It's an original design of mine. The logistics of packing and shipping was the biggest problem to solve. I am considering plans to sell for a couple of dollars. Generally, I enjoy making and putting up videos that help people. Thank you for the compliment; it keeps me going. And thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

    I like this it's great, watching birds is very enjoyable for both me and the cat, I'm always buying bird feeders, but they never last long, they get wet, dirty rusty and mouldy, you have to clean them often, because of rain, this was a nice project, enjoyable. Thanks new subscriber Laura in uk

    Hi what size dowel did you use? I bought a 3/8” and it’s way too small. It’s the size of the end pieces.

    Great design!! I love that you can secure the window. Do you sell them?

      Thank you! I modeled it using the Tinkercad website. I do not sell them because the supplies and time would make them too expensive. I know people would complain. 😉 If I made plans available to download, would that be helpful? Let me know. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

    I like the bird feeder a great deal but (there is always a "but"!) I would like the round hole reducer to be even smaller. There are some birds - jays, starlings, etc., that can get at the bird food and `I would prefer to limit access to small birds: tits, sparrows, robins, etc. Is there a product available?

      Hi James, I didn't think of bird sizes when I designed this feeder. I know blue jays can be aggressive, and the doves sit all day eating. 😂 We have that happening every day. So you could probably reduce the height of the sides, leaving the landing too small for the larger birds.
      Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck selling my projects. The cost of materials, time, and shipping make it more expensive than most will pay. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

    It’s angled toward the window. Any rain is going to run down toward the window frame and rot it out.

    • @DIYXplorer
      @DIYXplorer  Před rokem

      Hi Douglas! In the direction our window faces, we don't get a lot of rain under the roof overhang. When it rains with winds towards the window, the only problem is the seed getting wet occasionally. Overall I have not experienced that problem.
      I recommend placing it somewhere a little more protected from the weather. I hope this helps. Thanks for the question and watching.

      Hi Gregory, it's an acquired talent. Over the past few years, I've significantly improved. The feeder is going well even after a few years. We don't have a lot of squirrels due to feral cats in the neighborhood. We had one for a while, but he disappeared, either moved on or 🙀. Sorry for the delayed response.
