      That's what life is all about. So nice to see open water again. The winter is beautiful but very long.
      Thanks for watching mate.

    Hi Tim. Great way to start off a Sunday---with a Kuukkeli Bushcraft video. Miraca''s knife is really beautiful. wow. Tim, brother, I believe that was actually a Stonefly with two tails, they were mostly stuck together., Mayflies have three, and are generally not as robust. Love this kind of video. "Nature with a knife." Hello Uni, sweetheart. Thank you and keep them coming.

      @KuukkeliBushcraft  Před 20 dny +1

      Yes I think you are right about the stonefly. Oh well. Unni enjoyed being out and about as always. No squirrels today though 😂.Thanks for pointing out my mistake mate. I am no insect expert, but always good to learn these things.

    Ha ha !..my demented (and arguably perverted) mind read into the title of this video as 'wifewatching in Finland !!' 🤣🤣
    Great video Tim bro !! ..some lovely wifelife there !! lol ..the beer looks good too !! ..how interesting to see the Mayfly !! ..awesome !!
    Bless Unni as always and very best wishes to you too my friend !! The knife is superb.. what an awesome handle !! ..nearly as pretty as the manufacturer !!
    No chasing the swans !! lol 🐾🐾

    • @KuukkeliBushcraft
      @KuukkeliBushcraft  Před 20 dny +1

      I definitely prefer her chasing squirrels to swans 😂. Much safer. Wife watching however is not a very safe pastime in Finland either, even if it is your own wife 😂.
      Thanks for watching Andy, give Jimmy a hug from me and the Unni beast.

      @@KuukkeliBushcraft Ha ha ! ..which is why I prefer the 'booby' neighbour's wife !! lol ..she dances in the shower.. just for me !! lol
      Blessings to you bro ..and of course the Unni beast chickle !! 😉😉

    Awesome! What a beautiful river!! I love the bird! There are quite a bit of Koskikaras in nearby rivers and rapids here from late autumn to late spring. But in summer they dissapear and move to north...
    Aah, my beloved Kuusamo! (Hoping to do trip there late summer!)
    Haha, beautiful video my friend!! Thanx!!🙏and hölkynkölkyn!!🍺

      @KuukkeliBushcraft  Před 20 dny +1

      They used to live in a river behind my council flat in Bolton 😂. I think it is an indicator that the water was a lot cleaner than you might expect. Strange seeing them hopping around abandoned shopping trolleys in the river. You get them a lot in the rivers and streams up in the moors around there. Not seen many elsewhere.
      Thanks for watching Ilaria.

    Wow, videos from you and Old Forest Bushcraft both in the same day! Jackpot. We have a similar bird here in the United States. It was called the water ousel, but now I guess it's called the American dipper. Amazing birds. Thanks for sharing your video with us.

      I will be taking my camera and my fishing rod up there in the summer I think. Also would be a good place to put the trail camera if there are otters. All of these things of course will be a lot more concentrated when nearly all of the water is frozen. Something for me to bear in mind next winter.
      Thanks for watching mate. Glad you enjoyed the video.

    Hard to believe snow,, it's been 21-26* Celsius hear. Went straight from winter to summer... Time to start cutting firewood for me. Great video, Unni looks good, and your helper makes a beautiful knife

      Been snowing again today, it starts to melt then it snows a bit, then it melts a bit more 😂. It's normal for this time of year. Probably will have snow for another week or two. Already not really going dark in the nighttime though.
      Thanks for watching Joe.

    hi Tim, another interesting video, thanks. I have the koskikara sitting on my shoulder! This little interesting bird is a winter guest here in Denmark where I have seen it occasionally - dipping into and out of streams. I haven't seen it in Finland yet, but maybe I will keep a look out this summer in Vätsäri on my canoe trip! Greetings from DK, Martin

    • @KuukkeliBushcraft
      @KuukkeliBushcraft  Před 20 dny

      Hello Martin, it's a bird I used to see a lot of when I was growing up in Northern England, not seen very many of them anywhere else really.
      I will be definitely keeping an eye out for them this summer. I will visit these rapids again and maybe combine with a fishing trip.
      Thanks for watching.

    • @KuukkeliBushcraft

      But Unni got to chase, it's fun. Especially those squirrels, got to catch them.
      Thanks for watching Flu mate. Hope you are keeping out of mischief.
