I am also excited about the developments he’s made the last few years. But on the other hand, not being his fault, we went to the moon in the 60s and early 70s And we put the whole thing on back burner. I thought for sure by the 90s, we definitely be on Mars , it’s been 40 years and we haven’t even gone back to the moon yet. How sad is that, except with robots. I’m so hoping that I can see people land on Mars Before I leave this earth permanently.🤪 let’s cross our fingers and see if he can make it happen.

Can't wait until animations like the ones at around 43rd minute when Starship approaches Earth or Mars will be broadcast in real time! SpaceX has turned the space industry upside down with its reusable rocket technology and Elon Musk is rightfully considered a pioneer in the space field. However, the one thing that I will always disagree with is that we are alone, because the universe must be full of conscious, intelligent and sentient beings at different stages of their development.
Some alien civilizations might even have discovered the secret of eternal life and others might be travelling in spaceships for thousands of generations already. And just because we aren't aware of the existence of extraterrestrials, doesn't mean the same is true the other way around. They might have been aware of our existence for billions of years. (CORRECTION: Okay, billions of years was a bit over the top!!! They might have been aware of our existence since the beginning is much better!!! Or they could have predicted the favorable conditions of our solar system million years ago.)
For once, they might have discovered us accidentally - during a flyby maneuver by our sun, for example. Maybe we don't see them but they can see us - because their home star is much smaller and doesn't stand out in our night sky like the stars in the Orion constellation. However, our sun could have caught their eye, because it is placed at the center of a beautiful constellation of their own night sky. And they have been sending a laser powered buoy to our solar system to check in on us and see what we are up to now and then? (Sort of like the one Avi Loeb suggests we should send to our closest neighbors in his latest book.)
Are they here? No. Some of their technology? Maybe. Some studies suggest that the universe has the form of a sphere. If proven true, we might gain additional insights about interstellar travel. We know that the universe is expanding, because we currently are in the expanding stage and our calculations are based on that. What if the universe is an expanding and contracting sphere held together by tremendously huge black hole structure and the galaxies are surrounded by some kind of wormholes? What if the galaxies are occasionally "shaken" by the contractions and are bumping into each other here and there?
And maybe we do not have to go that far at all to make groundbreaking discoveries that intelligent is common place in the universe. Some studies suggest that Venus potentially harbored life for millions of years. And who can say for sure that an interstellar war hasn't been fought in our very own solar system already? Who can say for sure that life didn't spring from Venus to Earth in order to save themselves and not to become extinct? And now the time has come for the next step: Mars, then off to Jupiter's and Saturn's moons.
However, my thoughts are just the thoughts of an ordinary girl. My knowledge of astrophysics is rudimentary at best (practically non-existent actually).
P.S. Was Andrea in charge of the sound for the small sequence at about 8:40? The one who came into a brief spotlight during Elon's virtual interview with the Space Studies Board on Physics on 17.11.2021😉 (Do not mean to offend anyone and I apologize if I do!)

Earth is 4 billion years old, that means that there could have been several advanced civilizations before us. Only 5,000 years of human civilization? I am convinced that there was several civilizations that aren’t even recorded in history.

There's a good article in time magazine that concludes that based on the likelihood of their being civilizations on any of the 2,000 planets within 50 light years of Earth it would probably take around 400 years (from now) to exchange a message with them (unless of course they were so technologically advanced that they had developed much faster than light speed ways to travel) in which case they could already be on their way but i think realistically they're probably out there somewhere but just havent received our message yet !

I have to disagree on one point, consciousness is not rare. Numerous species on just our planet are conscious. All of the great apes, all cetaceans are, it can be argued. Several species of birds. Even the octopus has a good argument for it being self-aware.

A major topic of conversation wss how much they hate elon and they will never buy from Tesla ever again. Some of them were even talking about selling their Teslas they hated him so much but the year before they all sang his praises and bought Teslas. Somehow the order came down that Elon is evil and they must oppose him with all their might as they sat on the couch drinking hot chocolate. The liberal hivemind in action.
