@kelleychilton2524 Why is that if I may ask? I've been only to Cincinatti 1 time, and it seemed like there were homeless everywhere, and larges parts of the city were generally bad and shifty, but then I went to different parts of the city and the suburbs and they were nice.
I've listened to Matt Emch himself tell this story on What Lurks Beneath, and he says the train blew it's horn only once, but Bedtime Stories says the train blew its horn twice! I'm surprised the creature ran away after only hearing one horn.
A similar incident happened in my town of Maysville Kentucky back in the 80's. Some friends were exploring an abandoned hospital when one of these creatures chased them and almost got one of them. He had some cuts on his leg from the creature supposedly. I think there was a police report for the interested.

the illustrations on this channel really set it apart from any other channel i've come across. none of that cheap looking stock footage most channels use. and the illustrations are always really well done and haunting.

Holy shit, I listened to the interview with this dude on What Lurks beneath and it was terrifying. One thing that stood out, was Matts dream... this thing knew he was talking about it... and he was actively hunting him down and would find him eventually. This thing has Matts number.
I was just about to comment this, I got about 4 mins in and realised it’s the same story. Both great channels

I first heard this story years ago, through an interview with one of the four boys in the story, on Dogman Radio I think . Recently, I've heard it retold through several creators, some of them interviewing the experiencer. Every single time I've heard it, the story has been totally consistent. Some retellings might have more details or may be a more streamlined version, but the story and sequence of happenings has never changed. That says something in itself. I find that terrifying, almost more than the actual story. Thanks for another great narration!

I've felt for a long time that cryptids and the Missing 411 cases are connected. That there are points in the world where the barriers between worlds/dimensions are thin, where people and creatures can cross through.
I agree, I have hypothesized that’s why Bigfoot is never caught as well as the Dogman they jump through portals back to their world, hell many cultures talk about faeries and other strange creatures being in cross dimensions to ours, that pop out of nowhere and cause mischief and vanish

If you look at the missing 411 case map and compare it to a map of the continents cave systems, it's almost perfect. Meaning that, yes, they're probably a pretty significant number of them that are crypted victim cases, and they're using the caves to hide.
That's what missing 411 leads you to think so congrats on catching this completely impossible to miss connection

I listened to the interview multiple times, and each time I grew much more curious and scared , when I saw the notification of this episode this morning, my eyes grew wide and I had the biggest smile on my face , I literally said "Oooooh" 😂 this is my fav episode so far.

Anyone else recollect some of the tales/events told in previous episodes regarding the missing 411 and "There's Something in the Woods"? Remember how several of the witnesses described things moving as if it was intangible or incorporeal; at least one person even managed to get a picture. What if...
I've always found werewolves scarier than most monsters. Maybe it's because I was bitten in the face by a dog when I was little.

To be fair, every werewolf story I have seen to do with the US, that is supposedly witnessed as an actual event has them as being OP.
They can smell from miles away, their vision is excellent in the dark, their movement is silent until really close by. In some cases people don't even hear them. Their movement is super fast, in some instances our eyes struggle to properly register their full movements due to speed of their actions. They also have inhuman agility.
The main differing thing I noticed with the stories is the werewolf is one thing, the dog man is another.
The dog man is reported to have a canine head, but there have been some that state German shepherd head.
And the biggest difference is the dog man admits a skunk or rotten flesh smell when nearby. Differs from story to story with range, suppose wind is a big factor naturally. Some can smell it and are attracted to it's presence before it spots them and comes into view.
Others smell it within 100 yards, by then they are well within kill range.
There's also another entity I've seen pop up from time to time, which is similar in build body wise, but it's head is more horrific and not at all canine or even big foot. It has multiple eyes too. And usually seen paired with a crawler. And in some instances a smaller werewolf which is strange to me.
The crawler or smaller werewolf does the sniffing and scouting, while the larger creature is the enforcer so to speak.
But, some instances have been rather bizarre. As people who have came face to face with it, have just been stared at by the creature and evaluated just by looking, before it moves on or fades away before them. Either slowly moving back into the darkness, or some suggest fade into another dimension.
Either way, there seems to be more and more stories coming out of such creatures, and something they all share... they are not affected by bullets.
I do wonder if it's like the old tales, silver being their weakness, if only a silver bullet/dagger/knife/sword and such are the only things to inflict mortal wounds.

I heard of a similar creature that ravaged Ohio in the 70's and early 80's. Beast was 10 feet tall if he was a foot, with thick fur covering his head. Nothing could stop it. When it was seen, it had a white, black and gold shirt on, with the number 32 all over it. They said it responded to "Franco."

I've heard the original story & have immense respect for the priest that believed those boys. I also am puzzled at how you can receive proper "counseling" from a professional that probably doesn't even believe your trauma & shirks it off on other possible things because of their own bias. Someone has to attempt to believe you before they can help you.

I listened to the full interview on what lurks beneath. I am very skeptical about these stories, but watching him tell his story really makes you think. He seemed very genuine and is very detailed about his story. Maybe it makes it more unbelievable. Idk. But I feel it's really hard to fake being genuine.

When at the end they mention that it happened in 1987, it reminded me of the song "The Legend" by Steve Cook that came out in 87, which popularized the myth of the Dogman and is closely intertwined nowadays with the story. So the first thing I thought, was that this whole story is a (sort of) fan project of the song and the legend of the Dogman as a whole. And the date was a nod.
But who knows.
I saw it in 1996, I live here also, I actually live just down the street from where his attack happened and used to go to the same spot he talks about, I know it VERY well.

@@lordhentatsu2838 There is the Mahoning river that runs along those old steel mills, naturally a patch of woods and creeks all connected, back in the 80’s and early 90’s that whole area was baisically abandoned, there is a Massive area for it to move, it came running at me and my buddy Chris in PV(pleasant Valley) in his Mom’s driveway completely unprovoked, it covered a distance of a couple hundred yards in an instant, Chris got a better look at it than me because he got in the garage first and watched as it supposedly took a swing at me as I rounded the corner, his exact words were”NOT a bear, it had a demonic looking face unlike anything I ever saw.
I’ve also struggled with anxiety/depression for years and always look forward to your uploads to help me sleep, god bless!

I honestly don't know what I would've done if I was in his place. Because I already did things that others find almost crazy...
One example is that once I was in my parents farm, it was more than midnight and something started making whistle noises outside. So I grabbed a wooden stick and went outside. More than once, but there was nothing there.
The other day I discovered it was owls. 😐
Its not crazy to bring a stick to fend off wild animals it's just retarded unless that stick is part of a shotgun

This channel is in my top favorites. I'd listen to this all day.
Well as an engineer working in an ohio steel mill this is somewhat concerning to hear. Of course my department (the oldest in the mill that's still operating) has a story or two about a ghost or two I'm not aware of any active hauntings around the mill or in my department. The only noteworthy story is of a figure disappearing through a wall in the old locker rooms that are now mostly used as storm shelters when the occasional tornado threat presents itself.
The idea is more like this dogman found a secluded spot in the shutdown mill, an operating industrial site is usually too loud and chaotic for things looking to hide

For all my faults and blatant shortcomings ive found ive got a bit of a knack for research and intuitively sensing when someone is telling the truth (not infallible of course, but my batting average holds up)..that said, i may have a hard time decisively claiming a person i feel funny about is lying but i can almost sense when the truth is told and the interview with this man on What Lurks Beneath is one of the most riveting things ive ever heard or watched and i absolutely believe him
Believing what you say you saw is one thing; what you actually experienced can be quite another. Testimonies of a paranormal nature do not, in themselves, provide any tangible evidence...it's just hearsay without supporting evidence and carries no substantial weight. Always keep the burden of proof high, not low.
@Turrican60 well let's just hope that you're not a scientist because you would fuggin suck!!..dont get me wrong, for the most part I'm all for using the scientific method and not considering something truly PROVEN or TRUE without tangible straight forward physical evidence but any legit and worth his/her salt investigator should know from pure common sense that witness testimony is highly valuable when analyze properly..like first of all whether or not the person seems believable but most importantly whenever you interview multiple people from different locations who don't know each other and their stories are lining up almost perfectly then there's a high chance that there's a bold layer of truth there regardless of any inconsistencies from varying perspectives

Awesome video as always. A story I'd recommend to make an episode of is the New Orleans House of HORROR: The Lalaurie Mansion. A well documented haunted house in New Orleans with a sinister and dark history.

I watched his what lurks beneath interview and I swear to God I was absolutely 100% ENAMORED with his story and how fantastic he is at storytelling. I immediately subbed his channel. Being from Cleveland, I'm wondering if this steel mill was once part of the long-since demolished Youngstown Sheet and Tube? I've explored many of the abandoned factories in the YTown area, and am fascinated by the massive footprint that still exists from the old mills.

I’ve heard Matt’s story on a few other channels. His account is consistent and hasn’t changed from the first time I heard it. For me, there is no way he DIDN’T have this experience. I believe him to be telling the truth.
It takes a lot more than a consistent story to be truly credible - it requires strong, supporting evidence, too. There is none, ergo such cases are certainly interesting, but far from convincing. Always set the bar high for tangible evidence, not low.

Great story; I have reared Mastiffs most of my adult life. They are very big powerful dogs. Funnily enough 3 of the 6 I have reared have been fascinated by trains! We walk in the cornfields beside the railway lines. They hear the trains, cock their heads and run after them. Some Mastiffs are also prone to standing on their hind legs to survey the world around them. They are mostly gentle creatures, but very protective of their own domain.
Not saying it was a Mastiff, off to listen to the original story.

There are no dogmen in Youngstown, Ohio but there were plenty of mafia toughs in the 70s and 80s.
What if one of them got turned into one of these? Yeah I know that sounds impossible and crazy but truth has been proven many times to be stranger than fiction. 🤷🏻

This is by far the best and most creepy story on your channel. You should do a video on The Cowman of Copalis Beach. It's one of the most compelling Bigfoot encounters ever told. Even better than the Ape Canyon incident.

I actually watched this guy tell his story on a different channel a while ago and without a shadow of a doubt I am 100% convinced that he is NOT making any of it up and you can very easily tell how emotional and traumatized he was after the whole experience but just listening to him as he recounts the events that took place is enough to know he's telling the truth. Now that being said, could it have been some sort of odd/rare animal that they encountered and due to having overactive imaginations they thought they seen more then what they did or something else like that, I still will say I absolutely never want to ever come across it in my lifetime and hearing what it's intentions seemed to be (plus the description of what it looked like) it sounds like it was incredibly terrifying and I feel so bad for these guys!! 😟❤
The only other thing it could have been, would have been a black bear, and one black bear is no match for a pack of wild dogs. It would have run off or climbed up a tree.
I've seen a giant flying V dart across the sky one night.
It would very fast but my unblinking eyes were just at the right place in the sky to see it.
