Any connection?
I think more should be looked in to events that took place in similar locations and similar times .
This is becoming the UFO channel. There are so many other stories to tell.
Lads, when will all the old episodes be restored to the podcast?
I am really, really sorry but the first thing I thought of was "Mississippi Squirrel Revival."
As the daughter of a police officer who was trained to be a polygraph examiner following being injured in the line of duty, I cannot emphasize this enough. Polygraphs machines are not and never have been lie detectors.
The basis of the machine was wrapped around a early 20th century notion that when someone lies, they have a physiological reaction to it - either by their heart racing a little faster, their respiration speeding up, maybe even their temperature increasing. But by the time the polygraph machine was designed to measure these bodily functions, science had already proven this to be nonsense. Nevertheless, this machine measures things that the police know perfectly well have nothing to do with lying. So why do they do it?
Simple. To bypass your Miranda rights.
Consider what is done in a polygraph test. You are not allowed to have your lawyer present. Your lawyer is not allowed to see in advance the questions you were going to be asked. You are not mirandaized. You are strapped into a device, bound to a chair which the questioner places where he wishes to in a room - often directly under the heating and cooling vent so that when that vent turns on, it will cause your body to react and will of course result in you having some reaction show on the machine. Likewise, the questioner will choose which emotional tactic he will take before he questions you. Will he be kind and seem to be on your side? Will he be aggressive and obnoxious to you? All of this is part of the game. Then they repeatedly ask you the same series of questions, frequently phrased slightly different, over and over again. This is to irritate you. It's human nature to dislike being asked the same question multiple times. Either we become anxious or we become angry.
And that is exactly what they want you to do.
They then tell you that they detected deception in your answers. So they'll go over the points again, further upsetting you. Quite frankly, the wonder is not that people flunk the device, but that people ever manage to pass it.
Exactly, that's why the results are not admissible in court.
@@JohnnySmithWhite-wd4ey Bingo! But I personally believe that the entire process is so deceptive and so likely to cloud. The judgment of the investigator is in general and the population who hears about the failed test in particular that the test should actually be illegal in the United States is a violation of your fifth amendment.
Yeah they're a waste of time. I usually brush off any notion that refusal to comply means anything. One also has a bill of rights protection not to self-incriminate and if you have any heart condition like an arrhythmia or anything, it will read strange on the recording even when you're perfectly calm.
I hate that they bring this up in every damn video when someone says they refuse to participate. WHO CARES. It's pseudoscientific mumbo garbledeygook like a lot of the nonsense we do here in the states.
I also think that people forget how NEW forensics is as a science anyway. We are still figuring all of this stuff out.
Just another reason to know your rights. Really, Miranda Rights are so famous, people really don't have an excuse to not know them, regardless of their status with the police.
Unfortunately jurors weren't aware of this for decades leading to many false convictions and guilty parties getting off scot-free after passing the tests.
Love bedtime stories so much
Hello MrBallen
Love your channel!
When can we expect more ghost/alien stories? I miss those camp stories
@MrBallen me too! I live in Pascagoula, right down the road from where this happened, and it's crazy to see Bedtime Stories cover this.
@MrBallen and we love you too. Thank you for your recommendation to watch Bedtimestories. Greetings from Europe.
Calvin Parker was one of the most genuine, nicest people I have ever communicated with on any form of social media. I was genuinely saddened by his passing a few months ago. I have no idea what ‘really happened’ but I do know that Calvin genuinely believed in his experience and was forever transformed by it.
yeah I've listened to several podcast interviews with Parker, for both Exploring The Bizarre and The Paracast, and he seemed completely traumatised by the incident (as well as his later abduction in the 1990's he mentions in one of his books) - no doubt SOMETHING really weird happened to him
@@TsothaCalvin parker had a 2nd abduction?
By the same er people?
yeah - he's talked about it on interviews he gave on The Paracast shortly before he passed away@@stuartd9741
My family moved to Pascagoula from Miami, FL....I was a young child when we lived there...eventually moving to nearby Gulfport where my baby sister was born and I started elementary school. Although young, I remember when this incident occurred. At that time, we were living in Gulfport but during the early 70's, the region was still rebuilding from the massive and deadly Hurricane Camille that devastated the MS Gulf Coast in 1969...Gulfort, Biloxi and Pascagoula are neighboring towns/cities that also was home to an active and large Airforce base...A base that had F-4s, C-130s, and every other type of aircraft flying in and out due to this time America was still involved in a war, Vietnam. Although I do not recall all of the details I do remember my mother talking to us kids about the incident. As strange as it may sound today, many were concerned resulting in many kids not being able to ride bikes, and wander off exploring as much as we use to do. Interesting and sentimental to hear this story shared...especially since my family and I lived in the area at the time
I was living in Biloxi at the time and heard all about it. My godfather knew sheriff Diamond very well, who confided, "Those boys saw something". No one ever really doubted it.
We Rednecks bear witness to so many oddities and horror's! Grüsse aus Mississippi
if the memories are 'implanted' by 'aliens' why do they do it ?
Yeah my mother went to school with one or both of the guys, I remember growing up listening to her tell me the story about every three years or so. I was born and raised in Pascagoula
I remember when this incident happened, watched it on TV at the time. These men were roundly criticized and ridiculed. They were called every name in the book, it's a shame.
Look at the two men who told this thick as two short planks, B O L L O C K S
As a lifelong Mississippian, thank you guys so much for making this! 🖤 Our state gets very little attention in regards to the paranormal despite there being more than a few notable incidents of various paranormal natures which have taken place here. The names, dates, locations, and details regarding this incident were obviously very carefully and thoroughly researched, and this is just one of the many reasons why I love this channel. Thanks again for the amazing content and the work you guys do! God bless! ✝️🖤
A squirrel went berserk in the First Self-Righteous Church. The incident is known as the mississippi squirrel revival. True story, look it up.
Yeah, it was a fight for survival that broke out in revival! 😂

@@daviswall3319 Oh I know.. one thing I have learned is that there are good people everywhere you go.. from the inner city of Detroit to a cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon… I never doubted that. I’m a PNW guy so I like mountains and cold streams with salmon and trout… but everywhere has it cool stuff.
RIP Calvin Parker & Charles Hickson. Great video guys
As a resident of Mobile, AL its always funny to hear these southern town names mispronounced with non southern accents, lol. Love y'alls work and accuracy of the story itself. ❤

This was a great story! One time a kid named Ray took his pet squirrel to a little church in Pascagoula (he wasn’t from Pascagoula; just visiting his grandmother). He was showing it to his friend name Hugh when it got loose and started running up people’s legs. It caused a serious ruckus. People thought they were possessed and everyone got baptized whether they needed it or not. He never said what happened to the squirrel once it was over.😉
I love that song. It's hilarious. 🤣
I heard they was jumpin’ pews & shoutin’ hallelujah…

Do an episode on the spirits that haunt The Strid.
I’m from this area, my dad knew one of the guys’ cousins, the younger one, she told him, quite frankly, that he wasn’t smart enough to come up with a story like this
The alien abductions always seemed ridiculous to me before this channel, the way you guys tell the stories make me sympathize with the witnesses and wonder what really happened to them.
Look up Brothers of the Serpent UFO series with Marty Garza
UFO stories always have this one fact, no physical evidence. These are evil spirits. UFOs cannot read minds, especially flying high over populated places, but evil spirits can take over your body and mind, and are localized in nature. Just like UFO stories.
Nothing happens to them. It's all bs. Isn't it odd that it's always some hick Americans that these aliens have travelled light-years to abduct ?
You know, the land of conspiracy theorists, truthers and millions of gullible religious nutjobs.
It's a big universe out there
@@SamuelBlack84 I figure any life advanced enough to achieve ftl travel, something beyond impossible with our understanding of physics, wouldn't bother with our planet.
This has always been one of my favorite encounter stories. It's so incredibly unsettling. I've been to that spot where it occurred and just standing there was surreal.
Ahh, a classic case! Apart from the Pt Pleasant flap, the Flatwoods Monster sighting, and the Thomas Mantel tragedy, this is probably the most well-known and carefully investigated UFO incident of the 1950 - 1975 period.
Don't forget the Betty & Barney Hill case
Kentucky Goblins and Washington DC ufos too. tbh there are a lot of classic cases from that time.

Ah, the joy of a new Bedtime Story episode! Especially when you don't want to get burned out, but have been binging the back catalogue anyway!
I remember hearing about this on the news when I was a kid.
It actually made national news headlines.

I'm always happy to see a new Bedtime Stories! I've even got my two teens eagerly watching. 😉
this channel never disappoints with the content provided.
My mother knew these men, went to school with one or both of these men. Told me the story growing up about every 3 years. I was born and raised in Pascagoula. She said she believed them and they weren't the type to have made it all up. She said they didn't get money or fame. But to the contrary one lost his mind. Both were mocked.

I appreciate all the detail work on these so much. The artwork, the careful attention to building up a mood, the extra humanizing details, the extra bits of local and surrounding history of the time and era to give things more context. Good stuff.
Do the Holland, Michigan UFO story from March of 1994. Next to Roswell, it has to be the biggest story ever. Corroborating evidence among the hundreds of eyewitnesses, including law enforcement and radar operators.
You should do a mock episode called, “The Bat-Man of Gotham City.”
You forgot to mention they rammed something in the guy's mouth, and he showered with bleach and hot water afterwards to disinfect himself, and it burned him.
The bleach and water burned him?

The Pascagoula abduction is indeed one of the most interesting, from the weird looking entities that have alternately been described as "robot mummies" or "elephant skinned" to how the 2 witnesses had somewhat different recollections of the event. The video does not mention this but Parker also recalled the robot mummies being commanded by a beautiful human-like androgynous entity and would go on to have a 2nd abduction experience in the 1990's where the human-like commander now appeared distinctly female and seemed much more openly malicious. (having evolved from Ziggy Stardust to Sil from Species, so to speak) Parker went into detail about this in his interviews for the podcast The Paracast.
Do you have something to search for about that second one, because I just watched an interview with him and he didn't mention it. I'm very curious.
@@mage1439 it's the interview he did for the Paracast on the 6th of October 2019, I also remember Parker talking about that on episode 153 of Tim Beckley's show Exploring the Bizarre
Statement that alcohol make you to hallucinate always crack me up.
It certainly can. One time I was drunk on whiskey at a bar and brought home a perfect 10 but when I woke up in the morning she was barely a 5!
The day the Squirrel went berserk at the first south Baptist Church in the sleepy little town of pascagoula lol😂

Your episode "The Trucker's Wife" is my favourite. I highly recommend it to those who haven't watched it yet.
Have to admit, I was expecting this to be about a crazed squirrel in a Baptist church!
I live in Pascagoula. I'm right down the road from where this happened. I've heard the story before, and seen it covered a few times, but it is awesome to see this covered on one of my favorite CZcams channels.
I see a new Bedtime Stories? Im happy. I see that its about aliens? I'm really happy. I see that its about a case that I've never heard of before? I'm psyched.
Thanks, one of the few abduction/Close encounter cases that really convinces me. I don't know what happened to those guys, but they clearly are telling the truth about their experience.
the interview with this guy is chilling. i absolutely believe him
You never disappoint! I can't wait to see this year's Holiday Special!
Calvin Parker passed away in August. He was not lying about the incident as others had seen the light too.
Then how come the other guy admitted it was a hoax..I totally remember this story when I was in Junior High. I've known people who were in the immediate vicinity and they saw nothing- and I'm originally from New Orleans which is about 40 or so miles from there. I don't believe everything I hear and read..

YEEES!!! As a Mississippian who’s visited pascagoula multiple times in my life, i think about this case all the time! thank you so much for covering it!
A couple of discrepancies: Charles said the creatures weren’t as tall as him, he stood 5’8” so obviously they weren’t 6’. Also he was fully conscious the whole time, it was Calvin who supposedly fainted but he changed his story years later & said he recalled everything
they get so many things wrong i wont even bother to mention them.. its obvious they havent researched this incident
So, I've barely gotten started, but I'm just going to go out on a limb and guess that this is not going to be about how one Sunday in the middle of church service, a squirrel got loose and went totally berserk. Because that's the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Pascagoula, Mississippi. ^^;
I heard that a squirrel went berserk in the 1st self righteous church in the town. I don’t guess anyone else is going to mention that incident?
What happened in Pascagoula? It was a fight for survival. And it broke out in revival in the First Self-Righteous Church. Legend has it that they were jumping pews and shouting “Hallelujah!” when that squirrel went berserk…
Where is the sheriff's tape of their conversation?
Good question :)
Somehow I'm reminded of 'The Whisperer in Darkness' by HP Lovecraft when you described the aliens.
That's exactly what I thought. The description of the aliens sounds just like the Mi-Go.
Bedtime stories you seriously deserve 1M subs, your stories are so good ❤
I don't subscribe to many channels, and the ones i am subscribed to, i don't really get excited about a nee post. This legit makes my Sunday nites.
Please do more cryptid stories
I find it interesting that a lot of the older UFO stories had aliens dressed in shiny metallic suits and then it seems to have just gone out of style. Either fashion changed in the galaxy as a whole or something else is going on here.
retrofuturism wasn't out of style yet
And what stumps me even more is how is it that these purported extra-terrestrials are able to breathe our atmosphere, do not need pressure suits and are able to withstand our gravity and levitate in the air? AND! Go under water? I'm sure if we visited their home world we would probably be dead in a few minutes breathing in their alien air.
brilliant as usual mate. keep em coming.
What happened in Pascagoula? I'll tell you what happened! Some kid brought his pet squirrel into the church and it went berserk and folks started jumpin pews...
On another note, I don't recall if the color of the entities was mentioned, but the illustration of them reminded me of a strange, and at the time terrifying, dream I had as a kid where I didn't have a face or hair or anything, my head was red and just looked like the 'rippled' bodies the entities had in the illustration. I remember I tried to scream in the dream and couldn't, and I also couldn't breathe because my mouth and nose were gone. That drawing kinda gave me the heebiejeebies because it resurrected that dream from the graveyard of forgotten things in my head lol
😮 I thought they were mummies in bandages. 🧟♂️🌴🏜️

Did you hear about the Chumbawumba incident? (Bedtimestories voice) "The man was knocked over several time by an unseen force, each time getting up again, only to yet again be thrown to the floor. However, the veracity of the incident has been questioned, due to the fact that the man had at the time been seen drunk by a neighbour who testified "he drinks a whisky drink, he drinks a vodka drink, he drinks a larger drink, he drinks a cider drink".

Then the story worked. The sole purpose of the story is to make you buy a book.
You might want to check out the UFO crash in Cape Gerardo Missouri in 1942. It was a very large craft but was quickly moved by the army.
I did deliveries to gas stations in and around cape Girardeau a few years ago. I had a stop in Chaffee, to the west, which required me to take the roads north and south of the airport and some farmland. This area always seemed a little off, but I had no idea why. About a year after I startes this route, I heard about this incident and immediately knew this is where it happened. In the farmland to the west of ths airport I ended up finding a misshapen discolored area across a couple of fields, where the crops are a slightly different color than the rest. I did a time lapse on Google earth of this area, and this discolored gash is in all the satellite imagery. I have no doubt this is where the crash occurred.
