    Excellent review. I'm so on the fence but I'm very happy with my Oneplus6T. It's weird after all these years of enjoying larger screens I'm so ready for something a little smaller. If ONeplus 7 had a mini version at around the Galaxy 10E size I'd be all over it.. especially with a 90hz display.

The phone feels sleek, and the camera beats my old note 8 colors are more (Real Life Accurate) and picks up fine details like beard hairs and pores lol. 4k recording is a beauty. I did manage to test the pixel 3a xl camera before making my purchase....And honestly can say it's the best camera iv'e seen on a phone. Nobody is beating the pixel's camera, but SD 670 I cant' stomach in 2019 even with stellar optimization.

  • @hasunkhan
    @hasunkhan Před 5 lety

    Hey Tim this review was really helpful and I love the idea of reviews that take into account that you do need to spend a good amount of time with the phone to learn more about it. There was one statement you made that felt a little off though. "there's no actual waterproof or water resistance included in this phone" this is wrong. If you watch the breakdown of the One Plus 7 pro the areas susceptible to water leaks are treated to prevent water from entering the phone. You're right in saying it isn't IP certified but that doesn't mean that it isn't waterproof or water resistant. For anyone curious about seeing the phone tested underwater (albeit under very controlled environments), Dave 2D and Matthew Moniz do submersion tests that should help clear things up.

    Wireless charger not needed, head phones use bluetooth, on screen double tap or raising not hard, ip rating vs actually being water resistant, auto brightness great for battery life even though battery is already very good. Camera is great and will get better. Trade in money is good. 90 hz refresh rate is forcing other brands to make better products instead of stealing money from ppl. Holding finger print open useful apps quickly like Google assistant and notes. You didn't mention any sacrifices, apart from: Wireless charging ( I have never used the one on my Samsung s9) IP rating. Isn't necessary, the company has assured it's water resistant. Paying another company to confirm it doesn't make it more water resistant . I've wasted a 30minute OnePlus7pro submerge in water. 3 weeks later, nothing is wrong with the phone. Why isn't anyone mentioning the interior screen of P30PRO is a compromise? Yes it has a better camera than the OnePlus but it has inferior screen 1080p plus OnePlus had this 90hz , plus notchless . Plus UF 3.0 . Why are you guys picking on OnePlus?

    Waiting for pixel 4, if that doesn't come to my liking will probably switch to the seven pro, thanks for the review. I went to the launch event of the seven pro and my only two cons was the screen bleeding to the edge and the camera. Currently on pixel 2xl that isn't friendly to use anymore.

    I want this phone but after finding out they added an additional $100cdn to the price, which they haven't before... I can't justify spending $999 for the base model for this. It's no longer "affordable" in Canada. Though in the states I can understand the hype but.. it's just too expensive now.

    i had the OP7 pro for 3 weeks now. Coming from a OP5t. I had to take it back to the store and get a Galaxy s10 (Not plus version).
    Simply because of the size.
    I love oxygenOS and how its a simple and minimalistic as stock android, but added just the right features you need to tweak it how you like.
    Other minor downside was the lack og Audio jack, but not biggie.
    At least samsung now have OneUI instead of Touchwiz which was horrible. But samsung still have a lot of unecessary apps.
    I wish OP made a phone which had the size roughly with the S10.
    I started with OP1, OP3, OP5t and the OP7 is the first OP7 which wasnt perfect for me.
    OP3 is probably the best phone ive ever had, considering competition at the time

    This is by far the best flagship out there in my opinion. I can honestly get over every objection. I think wireless charging is overrated as it doesn’t charge as fast as wired charging, I’ve seen dozens of videos where the 7 Pro has survived being submerged in water quite a good amount of time, as far as the camera goes I’m no photographer so it’ll take photos that are good enough for me, and I can get over not having a headphone jack, for the price of an S10 which does have one I can get a 7 Pro and a pair of OnePlus Bullets wireless headphones and still have money left over. There’s no way I can get a P30 Pro for *legal* reasons, and the Pixel just doesn’t have enough RAM to suit it. I 101% love this phone.
