    Becoming a Financial Hub with a Regional Stock Exchange & Financial District | Verde Beach 113
    Hello everyone and welcome back to Verde Beach! NASDAQ has been searching for a new home for a regional stock exchange and Verde Beach has been identified as the perfect city to meet the bill, since the new exchange would be focused on hospitality and tourism stocks. The NASDAQ board has very specific requirements for the location of the new exchange, which we'll work to fulfill. We'll build a beautiful financial district and replace some of our older city service buildings with newer, high-capacity buildings. By the end, the financial district will be something that Verde Beach is known for. Enjoy!

    I think the subway extension would be a lot of expense for very little benefit. Making a transfer in a city's main station can be daunting but it's nothing that a visitor wouldn't have to do in a city with another major stock exchange such as New York. For the cost of making a redundant connection to the Hamilton Experience, the city could construct a line that went beyond the stock exchange that could benefit more residents.

    • @alc3biades262
      @alc3biades262 Před rokem +7

      Yes! I think an Elizabeth line esque service from the airport to the Hamilton experience would make more sense, making new stops at major population, employment, and transit locations.
      It would also serve as a relief for the downtown area (I’d bet that a lot of these lines in the downtown are super congested)

    • @johannesgutsmiedl366
      @johannesgutsmiedl366 Před rokem +9

      I can take the airport shuttle line since it's at least interlined with other services but no city is going to build that parallel tunnel from the central station to hamilton... I think it really would be worth looking at where both ends of those lines are pointing and seeing if they can be extended to make them more valuable

  • @mkvicala
    @mkvicala Před rokem +106

    Big Brain Name: During the planning of the financial district many were skeptical of not only if it was needed but also its proximity to the government buildings. Due to this as construction began and the hill began forming, many city residents started calling it Capital Hill due to the capital it would bring in and also a play on the much more famous Capitol Hill since it was close to the government buildings. Once construction was complete the name was already too widely used to try and name it something different.

Today, the top news is that the verde beach government has authorized their official developer, Phil, to build a new financially aimed district in the city. This will aid in the cities economy and connecting us further with the world. How do you think about this new movement of financial institutions coming into the city? I’ll talk with you in the comments! This has been Andrew Hamilton, and youve watching been watching The Daily Fire Starter! Goodbye!

    During the planning phase of this district, the city only referred to it as the Financial District Zone in various internal communications. When it came to light that this construction would replace a significant amount of already scarce downtown housing, the marketing teams had to immediately spring into action to prevent revolt.
    Lacking an official name, they dubbed it The FDZ, a work destination for yuppies and a symbol of progress. The locals remember what it once was, however, and now call it the Fifty Dollar Zone

    I wish that instead of adding express long metro lines to one destination we did some consolidating in the downtown area or provided bus service to e.g. the new suburbs on the other side. Also my feeling is that we could just add way more density in the mainland given how excellent highway and metro connections we have. There shouldnt be any low density anymore

  • @shmubob

    Two different naming ideas for the finance district.
    Aureus, basic gold monetary unit of ancient Rome and the Roman world. It was first named nummus aureus (“gold money”).
    In ancient Rome, the goddess Salus was the personification of security, prosperity and well-being of both the individual and the state, publicly and privately.

    I love the idea of calling the new financial district the Greenwood District, one keeping the green theme of Verde, but also honoring Tulsa’s Greenwood District, which back in the 1920s was called Black Wall Street for its financial significance to the African American community

    I think you could improve the metro between the financial district and the airport by going under the existing line running down the beach and connecting up to the metro tunnel that goes to the airport instead of it going through a station that it doesn't have a stop at, just to cross over to the other tracks to get to the airport.

  • @t.c.sodano3260

  • @mattjones6577
    @mattjones6577 Před rokem +16

    Hey Phil! I think a great name for the financial district would be the Maggie Walker Financial District. She was the first African American woman to open a bank and serve as a bank president. She's a big deal in my city. I always try to name something after her in my builds, and I think it fits here as well!

  • @juliahenriques210
    @juliahenriques210 Před rokem +2

    That Southwest grill without breaking the stride was priceless. More of these, please. :) Also, urban highschools are in fact most often just plopped wherever they'll fit, especially when they're built decades after a neighbourhood develops, which is often the case. If you can just clear stuff to plan a new highschool campus in the middle of town, you're probably not in a dense area. However, you can just plop a compact highschool in anticipation for future development, and that's what it looks like in the case in this video. Verde Beach is considerably high in the US and Canada density scale, maybe along Seattle or Vancouver, and you could expect this to happen. For most of the world's population, density means NY, downtown Chicago, Tokyo, MX City, São Paulo, etc. Los Angeles and Miami, for example, are not dense cities at all.

    How about calling it the Cupra Verde District, using copper and green for coins and cash?
    The area is reminiscent of Nashville's Memorial Plaza area, just south of the capitol. But much larger and more attractive.

I was fiddling around with it a little bit, until I realised that, since I wasn't going to record anything, I didn't need to be _exactly_ in tune; that was the moment I uttered those all-too-famous words.

    Hear me put on this one Phil,
    Moo-lah Palms. The moo is for the bronze bull and moolah is money. The palms is for the many palm trees placed in the development of the area.

    I don’t think I’ll be using financial districts, but I really enjoyed you placing them in Verde Beach. Have a good day.

    I would name the financial district Coin Roll Hill after Edgar Stickel. He was a German immigrant banker settling in Verde Beach. The city’s industry suffered under poor investments from the city but Edgar profitted greatly, at one point causing his pocket to break and coins rolling down the hill

    Hi Phil, great video! Thanks for the reminder that downtown doesn't have to be cheek-by-jowl, I make the mistake all the time...
    For the name of the ne Financial District, I was think Green Square, or Green Court, or Green Towers, something with "green." Plays on 'Verde,' as well as the colour of American (and presumably the cim's) money, and gives a narrative of the corporations trying to greenwash their reputation.

    The flock of planes reminds me a little too much of the Southwest Airlines meltdown during the holidays… how appropriate 😂😅

    I think "The Green" would be a fitting name. Many think it comes from the money made inn the district but it actually comes from the dutch familie de kreen who had a farm there many hundreds of years ago

    Hi Phil, greetings from Brazil, this is my favorite of your cities and as a Brazilian, I wanna add to your pronunciation of jacarandá tree. The accent in the end of the word signalizes the word stress, so this last "a" is the stronger syllable. I'm not correcting you, just wanted to share it with you. :D Great build btw.

  • @dragonlukasmapping805

    1. Southwest doesn't use the hub and spoke system.
    2. Omar Al-Hasan's Central Airline Group is still private, but with Central Airlines increasing its routes to Northeastern and Upper Southern cities (BTW, is Verde Beach in California or Florida?), and Central/Michigan Airlines (formerly Lower Peninsula Airways) becoming Central/Great Lakes Airlines, bringing traffic from smaller airports to Central Airlines cities, an IPO is being considered.
    3. Why not just put tables in the middle of the food truck court? And no restrooms or even porta-johns?
