Oh no - I misspoke! Color corrections are *not* available on console. Sorry everyone!
such a pain
Thanks for clearing that up Phil!
@M7 A No
Gutted, I wish they could find a way to make it happen
Got excited there for a moment! All the more reason to shut pull the trigger and build myself a PC
Tanking the economy so you can buy up stocks only to undo the policies that tanked the economy in the first place is the most accurate financial system simulator ever. It's not even a glitch!
LOL! That’s what I was thinking too!
...and this is why insider trading is *technically* illegal but almost impossible to enforce.
Not a glitch, but a flaw in the game - there should be major consequences (both short- and long-term) to messing with the budget sliders and those consequences aren't currently in the game.
Maybe if you put a Federal Trade Commission building (or it’s a default mechanic) in your city there’s a chance every year for your corruption to be found out and you can’t trade for a certain amount of time when you are
@@macstrong1284 but that's not realistic.
The most realistic thing is that there is no consequences for doing so.
@@TrinityShoji nah nah they get a fine that’s not even 1% of what they earned through illegal activities.
City planner discovers insider trading. “It’s like an infinite money glitch!”
City Planner discovers real life
City planner discovers that there are zero exploits and it is perfectly balanced.
Next DLC will be law enforcement with a FBI headquarters to arrest you for your white collar crimes 😂
And all you'll have to do get out of it is pay some meaningless fine and send some poor middle manager to jail. Rinse and Repeat ad infinitum
There is an intelligence agency asset haha
@@CityPlannerPlays 🤣🤣🤣
And the CIA coup d'état the player if he spends to much on social services
"Let's make a quick city" Proceeds to make a city that looks better than what I can do in hundreds of hours
I'm sure yours are great! But practice makes perfect!
10:13 let's go, its the corruption dlc
But I absolutely love this and cannot wait to see you incorporate these assets into your builds, especially Verde Beach and your new skyscraper districts
it's pretty realistic in that sense hahaha
Those are rookie numbers.
exactly what i was thinking 💀
Brazil DLC, nice!!!
Roleplay as Phillip DLC
With the release of the new Insider Trading...er, Financial Districts DLC...
Amusingly, the exploit you pointed out was pretty much the first thing that came to mind when I read the dev diary on how it worked.
Do wish there was genuine punishment for using this, like a massive unhappiness boost or riots.
This map seems inspired by Dubai
This looks like an episode that should be titled “Learning about SEC violations!” Still love the content, just thought tanking the economic to make financial gain was almost too realistic lmao
fun fact: the skyscraper bank is based off the old 270 park avenue(jp morgan hq) in NYC, which was recently demolished a couple years ago for a new headquarters. I do like the design on the new skyscraper theyre currently building though.
So it's basically an insider trading simulator?
you are doing something really special, cpp. your content is in-depth and complex, but you manage to make it relaxing and easy to understand. on top of that, you have a good attitude and a soothing soundscape in your videos. i really think you’re the best content creator in the cities: skylines community.
bro I swear his voice is the most soothing ever
like I could literally fall asleep listening to it
Congratulations, CPP, you just discovered "Insider Trading." 🤣
This is some crazy levels of open insider trading.
“Let’s just make a quick city”. His looks better then my builds 🤦🏻♂️
If a mayor traded like that in real life it would be incredibly morally dubious
And yet the members of the US House of Representatives are allowed to actively manage their investment portfolios. Makes you wonder. . . .
My guy … if you only knew ..
wait until you learn about the housing market
This is incredibly illegal. Its called insider trading
Not only is it morally dubious but it’s literally illegal. I kind of wish that was reflected in the game and somehow it would detect if you are manipulating the markets and give you a fine as a punishment.
A lot of people have already said it but I'm laughing at how realistic this thing is. And you even did it with the Oil Industry as an example.
Love the new buildings and plazas.
Thanks for the stellar content as always.
I’m so glad PDX and Colossal Order finally added insider trading, the bureaucratic experience wasn’t complete without it
At first I was confused why you weren’t using Tutoria, but that map is fantastic!
Yeah what map were you using in this?!
Welcome to New Tutoria!
I just can't wait for the assets on the workshop. Banks from real life, armored trucks that actually work with the DLC, different branch styles, etc...
10:41 I don’t really care about the Wall Street simulation. I’ll play with it a bit. I really like the banks and armored trucks. Just a touch more realism.
Just like the post office, you either love it or you hate it. Almost all towns have both.
It's so funny (and sad and angering and terrifying) that the "infinite money exploit glitch" is basically just insider trading plus lobbying... Kinda put some people riches into perspective 😅
They should have put in Scrooge McDuck's Money Bin as a skin for either the skyscraper bank or the max level stock exchange.
I've recently gotten into Cities Skylines - and you are one of the largest reasons I managed to come to love the game. I'm grateful for your videos.
City planner plays insider trading tutorial
Cities Skylines allowing inside trading is the most accurate depiction of modern capitalism.
Tanking economy to gain money, it's not a glitch, it's exactly how stinky stock markets do every day.
What the stock exchange can help you to do is to reimbourse a loan or compensate for a slightly tanking city budget without resorting to the unlimited money mod.
The elevated and underground plazas have spare space to put metro stations with Move It, especally if they are norrow ones (like one tile stations in the workshop).
As everyone else is saying, there needs to be a "Corruption DLC". But this glitch could be fixed with a simple update... When insider trading is detected by the game (funding level changes associated with invested stocks), then happiness plummets, causing crime and protests, which increases traffic and noise pollution, which eventually decreases housing value and ultimately decreases population. With a simple Mod, it could make insider trading disastrous.
19:37 evil CPP trying to take control
CCP, you are the only person on YB that I can actually watch the entire video from start to finish. Many other people that play cities: Skylines aren't the same lol. Hats off to you. This DLC is going to be great. I love the amount of detail in your videos. Keep up the good work! I watch your videos as I'm playing CS it keeps me from rushing ahead in my own city and actually work on crafting detail.
Same! I watch the whole thing no mather how long hahaha
Loved the harmony at 19:37
Excited to see the new DLC in Verde Beach!
Can't wait to see this DLC in your builds!
Ah yeah, the insider trading DLC just dropped
Edit: do the shares give dividends, or is buying and selling the only way to make money off these? I fear they don't
I asked the developers. There are no dividends. I wish there were. I also think there should be government bonds and debt introduced into the game. I hate it when I can't buy stuff when the city is in debt - Governments are always in debt and spending money on everything.
I wish! Would make a ton more sense imo.
@@drewsteps Bonds are huge - cities generally aren't allowed to have a surplus to save up for things, so bonding is the only way to go. Would be nice to be able to play that way, but also very frustrating, ha!
This is going to be a revolution for the speedrunning community. I recently watched a couple speed running videos, and I am tempted to get the dlc just to see if I can beat a world record by the power of the stock exchange. I'm not a speedrun-type of player, but I focused on growing my most recent city faster than I normally do, and it's really balanced out my playstyle. It's much more enjoyable and time efficient.
Keep ‘m coming CPP! Love the videos
Today in City Planner Plays, we discover politician insider trading
Phil, it almost seems like you decided to take a page out of The Spiffing Brit's playbook with this one! 🤣
Love you CPP great video as usual
Awwww I was hoping for a Texas/Nevada/San Diego build. I love the desert with green areas scattered around the map.
Probably one of the next ones!
Thank you so much for clearing up a few questions I had, like whether the Industries DLC counts towards the "200 squares of buildings" and what the "productivity" of services was based on 👍
I personally love this dlc and have already purchased, just not played yet. Thanks for the walkthrough. Blessings
Great vid, love the "glitch"!
Love the new content. Thanks for sharing.
i always watch your vids when it comes to new stuff for cities: skylines.
you're usually the determining factor for me making a purchase or not.
thank you for this, CPP. 🙌💯
#great #stuff
I don't think it counts as cheesing when members of congress legally do it every day. Great video! This isn't my type of DLC but you made a good point about supporting colossal order so maybe I'll pick it up anyway.
Solid content as always, Phil
I just love this channel 😊
Phil, only a 22 min episode?! I’ve been refreshing my home page constantly for your video and you only give me 22mins?! Lol I love your vids bruv. Keep up the great content! 👍🏿
I know this DLC has been out for a while, but I want to thank you for the short cuts and how I can make the stock exchange look more realistic in my city. Did not know that I could unlock everything and then remove/replace it to a level that fits. Thank you.
20:27 this is game is in my top 5 favorite games. I am buying the DLC on Christmas 😊. I don’t play it all the time (You and a few other content creators allow me to vicariously play, when I don’t have the time).
that's not 'glitch'.. that's the insider trade and market manipulation. A very realistic feature.
I don't know that I'll add this to my game but I'm excited to see how you play with it!
Gives me spiffing brit vibes😂
Favorite city player by a long shot👍🏽👍🏽
Great video as always! Thanks for that. Amazing how you manage to build something understandable so quickly and also, so beautiful in so little time, I so hate you haha!! Take care
19:37
So were just gonna ignore that City Planner Plays cloned himself for a second there?
Pulling a little federal government move with the insider trading, niiiice. haha
the Stock Exchange is becoming President Business's building from Lego Movie
Great video man… I love your content.. you mentioned something in the begging of the video that caused me to think about the concerts dlc and how I don’t think you’ve implemented any concert assets into any of the builds in Superior… I feel like there should be one close to the Hamilton Experience or the new stadium area in Verde Beach and there for sure should be on in Van Buren close to the university in Clearwater County… I’m not sure there’s a spot for one in Nicolet Bay yet… but yeah that’s a cool dlc that can add a lot of entertainment value in an area that will raise its land value (it does create a lot of noise pollution tho) otherwise I can’t wait to see you implement the Financial Districts into your other builds too
I love the video! You explain things so perfectly!
This DLC though ... seems a bit pointless to me. A lot of things I don't think I'd ever really use.
I am about to steal that street layout for the financial building because that is too beautiful😍
The "that said" in stereo at the end made me jump!
The financial buildings really remind me of the Chicago architecture!
At least the area where I am usually at
Fun fact: the exploit you used exists in real life too, but most lobbies have applied a patch where you go to jail if you do it
I work in banking, and boy o boy, City Planner Plays I can tell ya you would go to jail for a lot >like a lot< of years for stock price manipulation. But I’m laughing my a** of that your first instinct is manipulating public assets, brilliant 😂
I love your stuff ❤
I figured you'd be turning off parts of the oil industry to crash its worth so you could snap up its stocks, but I didn't realize it'd be as easy as defunding the whole place for a day or two. Either way, I could see it happening on a less extreme scale - a manufactured crash, essentially.
Insider trading simulator. Love it.
Great video
Love the updates the pass few months. All I need now is a 3 and 2 road to be complete for vanilla
I am PUMPED to see this DLC in Verde Beach! The International Trade Building would be great for expanding the Tax Bonus to wealthier communities.
This is great.
The architecture on the financial district buildings remind me so much of DC
1:06 let me explain what I've done here. Getting some serious Bob Ross vibes.
Hey Phil, I think it'd be really interesting if you started making more stand alone cities doing challenges and teaching things, or like, mini series with cities with different themes.
Can’t believe the support this game gets. It’s awesome. It almost seems impossible to do a true sequel at this point.
Phil doing some insider trading! You're basically qualified for the United States house of representatives!!! Congrats Phil you're a politician now!!
Like many of the other expansions, once you've unlocked the buildings, you can design the area you actually like the look of with just a selection from the palette. You don't have to keep all of them in the city. This selective strategy is the only way to get something of everything, but also means every city can end up being different.
And even on a throwaway city it looks like you were doing landscaping and making it special, before even getting into the financial stuff.
Oh god this is railroad tycoon 3 insider trading level of a game break mechanic
Interesting shift directly to insider trading. Maybe they are just teeing up the next DLC: Cities Skylines - DOJ, FBI and SEC Edition, featuring criminal defense attorneys....and no new prisons 😬
i love the viddeo :) thx
19:37 *THAT SAID.*
thanks for the honesty "i'll just leave it as this ... ... most attractive version..."
I think it's hilarious that your "infinite money glitch" is hardcore, obvious stock manipulation. The simulation is not wrong! But I guess the SEC isn't simulated.
The double "thats said" bout made me S&*t my pants. I thought someone was right over my shoulder. 🤣😂
Can't wait to see it in verde beach
I LOVE ARTIFICIAL PUMPING STOCKS LESS GOOOO
Spiffing Planner Plays :D
OPEN THE DOOR MR. CPP IT'S THE SEC!!! Your being arrested for insider trading!
Wow, totally unrelated but I absolutely love this city.
Insider Trading Moment xD
CPP basically recomending insider trading lol
yes finally
*STONKS*
the game
When you buy and sell shares in something you operate and own, almost exactly like insider trading 🤣
It helps to be the chairperson, regulator and have the ability to act on insider trading. Almost like how congress works lol
That's not a glitch, that's how the stockmarket actually works
In before Phil bobs away the stock tickets on the exchange for every modded build. (I wish those new variation features would let you have versions with/without!)
i can already see some cheese happening with buying/selling shares of deathcare in a city with huge deathwaves
Phil is now an Inside Trader. Don't let the FCC find out.
