I don’t think he needs to apologise for focusing on other things but like what do CZcamsrs think people with full time jobs do when their dog is sick?? You can’t just drop everything to dogsit you manage your other responsibilities 😂😂
@@mazhev it’s a good thing his job allows him a lot more flexibility then, isn’t it? i know quite a lot of people with full time jobs outside of youtube that actually *do* take time off whenever their animals get really sick and are in need of medical attention, and if they can’t do that for whatever reason they end up relying on their friends and family for help, so it’s not such an unheard of concept :) your animals *are* your responsibility, so while i do agree with you to some extent, i also firmly believe that from the moment you bring an animal home that little creature becomes a member of your family. if they get risk or injured, you do your very best to make sure they have everything they need in order to make a full recovery, and that includes *you* being there for them as well. (as long as you’re able to, of course. for example, i took the day off work when i knew it was going to be my 16 year old dog’s last day on earth, and i took some time off again a few years after that when my second dog got really sick and almost didn’t make it. i know that’s not the case for everyone, some people simply cannot afford to take time off, and that’s okay. if you’ve friends and/or family that are willing to help, you can always ask them to be there for your pet on your behalf, i personally didn’t have that either of those times, so I made the decision to be there for my dogs myself)
@@ChronicallyGaming I mean yeah fair enough but my point was more so that a lot of CZcamsrs make posts like “sorry I haven’t been active lately I’ve been dealing with XYZ” while most of the population deal with these things and still show up to work... I’m not saying they owe anyone content or an apology for taking time off but it comes across as a little tone deaf.
Honestly this bistro reminds me of a European cafe (usually not this big) but still in Italy a lot of cafes will have “secret” gardens and outside seating outback, usually in a courtyard surrounded by other buildings. I love those places! The outside parts make it fun. This build gives me that same energy. I could see sims going on dates here ❤️
I know it isn't base game, but the red velvet rope from get famous fence would be cool by the stairs to block the entrance! Kinda like employees only

I had this exact idea!! That way you could still visually have the seating but the sims can't access it

it is a random bistro, but it is one you would call your friend to go there and advertise like "you gotta see this amazing place I just found out about"
I am such a dog person, and owning two large, very active dogs, I know how hard it can be at times to keep up with them. I really appreciate the fact that you and Deli give quality care to both your dogs and your fans with the content you create. I purchased both kits and used your creator code for one and Deli’s for the other. Thank you for all you do.

One thing you could do with the top floor is turn it into an owner’s apartment. And then either create a hallway for the balcony or just have it for family use only by locking for everyone but the household.
@@brittnieblackburn8649 Maybe the top floor could become a Yoga studio?? You could remove the tables from the patio and add in some of the meditation chairs! Have one Sim who does classes a few times a week while another Sim either plays/sings for tips or works as a bartender!

There's a music store near where I live that has a fancy garden from when it used to be a restaurant. This place has been bought and sold to different music stores, but the garden never changes. Maybe for this place the garden was always there, and the new owners just decided to keep it and use it.
You could totally turn the upper floor into an apartment. Own the business downstairs and live upstairs❤

Glad to hear Bowser is doing better! And I love the idea of the bistro kit - it really reminds me of the sims 3 bistro lot in sunset valley and I think it could really provide a new direction for lounges/bars/cafes/restaurants. The riviera kit is exciting in that we haven’t gotten new pool stuff (excluding the intro of loungers in island living) since Get Together - new pool ladder/tile is long overdue. I just still can’t bring myself to spend $5 each on kits.

I feel most people that have dogs have more than one, a lot of people out where I live have 3 or 4. Although I've seen lots of people with a half-dozen or more, even on tiny properties...
@@thisisnotthechannelyourelo407Sheesh and they call cat people "crazy" 😅 🐈⬛ I don't know a single person with more than 2 dogs, but I live in an area with a lot of multi-family homes and property owners don't tend to want their renters having a bunch of animals.

As a Parisian, seeing a bistrot kit makes me happy. Just wish it was more like a pack with its own world, ngl!
I wouldn't get our hopes up but it really seems like the new expansion pack coming later in the year will be a paris inspired pack, seeing as the theme is romance! either that, or something like venice!

There are a lot of items in the game that should have multi states besides doors being open/closed. You should be able to open and close windows, curtains, toilet seats, kitchen cabinets...I don't even need the sim to interact with it, I just want to be able to set the state of the item, just like you can change light settings.

Are you sure? On my mac on the EA app this kit is also offered for free but until the 17th of June

Being able to open and close doors has been my biggest want in the game! Same with windows and curtains. It would be cool to be able to have a door or window open and if it rains or snows it would puddle inside or something.
I can't wait to get my hands on these kits, I know exactly what I am going to do with it. I am going to renovate a lot I made when University came out. It's called the Old Light House Cafe. With all the new doors and windows, it would look stunning! I was watching DrGluon last night and I think he did a great job!

I feel like this would be fun to have a pizza making room upstairs because this bistro reminds me of a pizza restaurant and sims take three years to give you your food with dine out anyway lol.
Riviera kit looks like cc to me. I dunno if it's just me though but I feel like I've seen something similar to it from a cc creator
You might be thinking of Max 20's Poolside Lounge Kit. It has a fountain for the pool, but it's very different.
I think some of the kits in general give that vibe, especially the CAS ones. They're usually better meshes than normal (like bows and stuff are 3d)
I'd be curious to see Laird's little cafe done up with the pink swatches on the bistro kit.
I feel like upstairs would be a great place for a dance floor, stereo, or maybe even a movie theater if we were able to use more packs! I’m imagining it’s a space where there’s dance classes once a week or specialty movie showings. Just an old timey hangout spot
Since the bottle is just decor, with the horse ranch nectar could add the Nectar racks on the wall behind the bar with already made nectar bottles in it for sims to “purchase” a bottle since they can drink from it if left out on their table maybe? And maybe the maker too. It’d probably look cool too
I'm glad Bowser is recovering nicely. Great video, James. I like the idea of building upon an existing room build. This build looks great. I hope you use it during a future LP.
It is giving renovated Australian pub vibes. Old-timey bistro inside, then they have taken advantage of every bit of outside space later
Honestly, EA should release these mini kits for free. I can guarantee you that every simmer would love that, and people may even buy more DLC afterwards!
I just keep adding them to my collection as they have periods of time they are offered for free. They aren't value. You're right, it pulls folks into the app and makes them far more likely to pick something up, even on sale. Much more effective than any of the other techniques they've tried.
Dine out should be free out of everything. A nice bundle to go with the base game being free since dine out is bugging without mods. I don’t know if more people will buy DLCs because of free kits. I think more players buy them during their bigger sales. Them making the kits free isn’t really providing a good incentive to buy the kits at their full price since they’ve made a pattern of making DLCs free for a window time.
i really love the building off of the premade rooms!! it’s a cool idea, i’d love to see you try doing more builds like this :D
When I want to fill in space with tables but don't want Sims up there, I use a bar-height table or an end table with dining chairs. From a distance it's not super obvious the chairs aren't situated correctly, and they can't get to them if you scooch em in a little with alt placing.
ya know, I wasn't that excited about the new packs but this video has made me want to purchase them. that's the power of a James Turner build!

I seen someone try but couldn't. Have you seen a video on it or tried yourself? I'm super curious, as I may be getting the kit. I usually don't get kits but I like the vibes of both this tine around. The amount of swatches are impressive.
I own the kit, and I know if it is untended you can Have Quick Drink - Tea ($5) or Coffee ($5). Not sure if you can purchase either from a bartender, I haven't tested that option.

I feel like the quality of the build kits has really been improving. The textures and swatches of these items are really good.

The whole video i was going crazy that the open door at the front of the bistro was misaligned
I feel like this build could also work for a wedding venue. Just add in a wedding arch and whatever other necessities for that kind of venue. Would love to see James try to build a wedding venue now that he has these two packs.
That pergola has swatches with curtains on it so it was funny that you put the arches and curtains on it separately.
The bistro kit really inspires me to build a jazz club.

love it! you should do a video attempting to combine both packs again, but also incorporate the garden packs. You would do such a great job. You always do.
Thinking the torch is a fire hazard with the pergola setup makes me think of a common patio item in my part of the world. I wonder if they were designed by firefighters who like to show up and do a sexy dance lol, but an "umbrella" made of dried straw type material that closely shades your BBQ seems like a fairly risky landscaping choice. Love the builds and like the kits as well-I wonder if the code helping the channel could become a regular option for Sims content? Not sure what's going on with Bowser but happy he is getting better❤

I play on console and they had a little questionnaire to take and they asked if there were any changes and I asked them to please fix the dang lagging issues as I'm sure a lot of us have told them
I think the outdoor area actually suits quite nicely. Lots of little cafes and bars have special event spaces and that’s what I envision it as. It would be nice for a small engagement party, baby shower, business luncheon, etc 😊
I would have loved to see an open balcony area so the tables up top could see down to the stage or an additional outdoor stage area for spring and summer entertainment! ❤ but I do love the build and the combination of the two kits :)
Combining these two kits makes it have more of a "country club" vibe sort of. I wish there were tennis courts or golf course or something lol
Hey James! I just got an idea for a sims challenge I would love to see you do. I dont know if it already excists but i got the idea while watching this video.
So think like a super small legacy challenge or something to add to your super sim challenge. Move in to a 64x64 lot and with inspiration from Winchester Mystery house you have to keep building. So everytime the season change you have to spin a wheel and build that room. Bedroom, library, bathroom, kitchen, gallery, pool, etc just keep building until there is no space left on the lot! I think that would be such a fun idea! Between the seasons just earn as much money as possible, and when you have more money maybe add and spice up the rooms you started with so you get a crazy manison

The bistro kit really appeals to me. I don't ever buy kits, but these destination ones that have the feeling of a holiday or a weekend away to a different city, I really like that idea. Nice to inject some different culture into the game that's not going to cost a whole expansion pack.
And of course, huuuuge love to Bowser and Franny! I hope she's being kind to her big brother ❤🐾

Every time I watch builds I think hmm… how is this going to come together. And then in the end, it works!!
My dog tore her CCL one year and then the other the next! The vet said it's a common sports injury. She's a very hyperactive chihuahua/terrier mix. Keeping her contained for the twoish months it took for the surgery to heal was torture for her.
Hoping Bowser is dealing with it better! My dog is years out from healing and she's perfectly healthy and happy! Wishing you guys the same!

I just played with Batuu and it's just soo cool! I had no expectations maybe that was why hahahaa But there is so many missions if you play with the different groups! I just had a great time 😂 Yay Batuuu

I have to admit that I feel like the items in these two kits are the "leftovers" from other packs...
I feel that the heavy wooden dividers and furniture with wine motifs present was supposed to be in the Horse Ranch pack while the gazebo with its swirling heart motifs makes more sense in the Bistro Kit rather than the Riviera but it's like they noticed it at the last minute that the Riviera Kit was lacking a show piece and moved it over.
I can't justify almost ten dollars for each of these sets either...

Something off topic: I have a little problem with changing the "wall" of platforms created by raising a room. It just don't work, even after reinstallint the game. Ist there something I'm missing? Maybe a mod I need to install or something? Cuz the standard grey concrete very rarely looks good and I'm getting annoyed seeing all the others changing it and me just being incapable, cuz the game won't let me... 😅

I tried the DX11, and it made my custom content glitch out so I removed it. I did like I though, however it didn't make a huge difference because I do have a new PC.
