Marlon just makes you feel good when he sings. He has some real sweet spots in that voice. I wish he got more leads. He brings a nice balance

I love how Jackie, the eldest brother, pats Randy, their baby brother, on the back at the end and next, pats Marlon, who rarely solos, on the back. Janet was right. After MJ died, she said to everyone else, he was Michael Jackson, but to them, he was their brother. In other words, they are a family, good times and bad. I get that as I age more and see my own family. Happy or not, here or gone, we’re family. PS Love the solos. Marlon’s smile is priceless.
I think Randy developed his lead singing voice a few years after this. He was mostly dancing and playing Bongos at this point. Later on he sang lead, wrote songs, and played every instrument.Randy's awesome.

Jackie has a wonderful voice.
I LOVE this clip! It's so rare to hear every brother sing, especially Tito. All the brothers had talent, Michael was just unusually special. And he also knew how to project his voice, enunciate, and his soul sang with more conviction. MUSIC was born in him so it flowed. Michael didn't look like he was consciously working at it like his brothers. Michael would scat off the cuff, not knowing what was going to come out of his mouth most of the time

Sorry, but i didn't see it that way. it appeared to me that the only singer that labored a little was Marlon. Jackie is 'fluent' in his tenor/falsetto, and Tito was singing in his natural (not head) voice like Michael was. I think you're mixing apples and oranges with your perception of things.
I personally think Marlon and Tito's parts were great. They obviously didn't sing a lot of lead roles in their J5 days (I haven't heard Tito until now), but they can sing in their own ways

Michael couldn't stand it anymore---he HAD to get up out of that chair! I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous tone of his voice! His interpretation of a note was always so interesting and unique. Love seeing all the brothers singing together. MISS MJ SO MUCH!

This was great! Michael was like a race horse itching to get out the gate. Sitting on a stool is just not his thing. I love how you could hear him lacing the other brothers verses. I wish they had allowed little Randy to have a part.

This was NBC-TV TONIGHT SHOW WITH Johnny Carson. Freddie Prinze was filling in for Johnny Carson. Also the reason behind the J5 singing these types of songs. Was because they like the rest of the Motown artists had a show for the Las Vegas audience. Which was generally an older audience.

Mike showed why he was the lead in the group not just cause he was the best dancer, but by far singer too. Actually though his brothers sounded better then I would expected
im an insane mj and Jackson fam fan. Jermaine, who had left the group by now, had the best natural singing voice but mike had the best control, manipulation and range with his voice

yea its hard to explain. ill put it this way. if both were trying out for American idol type show and had to sing acapella like boys to men end of the road I think Jermaine would be a lil better but if they said take the song and put your own style and funk on it mike would kill him.

yea ive seen it. it may just be a matter of taste too. Ive only seen mike live on utube and dvd but I saw the jacksons live last year on tour and Jermaine did a great job for a dude in his mid 50s. but either way mike is the greatest of all time

I'm not sure how i found this video, but I'm glad I did. I of course love all the guys, and they all did a great job, but When Jackie did his song it gave me chills!! Jackie has such a smooth voice and when he was singing, I saw him as like a Michael moment. I have to give love to Tito as he is one of my very favorites. I loved that the guys did this, I am adding this to my favorites so I can enjoy it more often! I love the Jackson 5 forever
