I was confused about Shelly too, then my mom told me a story about how a girl was ALMOST decapitated by how deep her throat slit was, and she walked 4.5 miles, and didn’t have surgery until 6 hours after the slit, and she f***ing survived, HOW
You can't survive a severed carotid, and you can't almost be decapitated if your arteries and spinal cord is intact
Humans are both shockingly durable and shockingly fragile.
There was also a Mexican teenager who was nearly decapitated who nearly had his head hanging down on his shoulder, and he survived at the end.

@DeadMeat I'm a couple of years late but as you mentioned in one of these F13 reviews since Part 2, 3, and 4 were supposed to have happened within a few weeks of each other has anyone brought up that Jason had plenty of hair in Part 2 but was completely bald in Part 3 and Part 4? Just curious and thanks for your response and your great content.

These "Kill count: Recount" videos are fun.
Mainly because you get to see how far James has come over the years.
Rick's death was a bit cheesy from a 3d perspective, but I still think it's one of the most brutal kills in the franchise. That scene always stuck with me. It gave me nightmares as a child. I remember at the drive in nobody was expecting all of that 😄 It showed just how strong Jason was. Part 3 is a underrated classic.

I actually really like Ali and the rest of the gang in this film I respect the fact that he didn’t scream or run away in the farm and tried to fight Jason head on twice
I always really liked the ending actually. Something to be said about Pamela dragging Kris down to the depths of insanity which she can never escape.
I asked James his thoughts on the latest King book, but it came across like I was asking him to kill count it. Now I’m one of those people. God damn it. I just wanna know if he read it 😅

I liked Shelly. He’s a relatable character, a prankster with low self esteem that hides his short comings with humor. Doesn’t make sense why he’s hated
I think it's a mix of his jokes being in very poor taste given the recent murders at crystal lake, generally finding him annoying, and how he acts a little "Nice guy-esque" to vera when she turns him down.
Part III is in my top three for the series. I love its blend of humor and horror. Yeah it's not a scary as other entries, but I find Friday the 13th works best when it's on the more lighthearted side of things.
None of the movies are scary only a new blood part 7 I believe
I don't know why but at the end we're Jason breaks through the door and like runs at her even though it was a hallucination that's like very disturbing

I think we can all agree this is by far the greatest one in the series, even better than part 9. Shelly was a saint, and he carries 3/4 of this masterpiece on his back. The series was never the same after he died!!!

You know the original kill count for this was the first one I had ever seen by James. He had just uploaded it like a few hours ago I watched and liked his vibe so I subbed to him. He sure has come a long way

So, is it weird that I'm somewhat looking forward more to the production tidbits James goes into than the actual kills? Like, it's weird, I've always been into film production but not so much that I'd go out of my way to find out stuff unless I really, really loved the film, like Jurassic Park. But now I'm actually more excited to hear what fun (or weird or sad) facts about production or how some stunts were done that James has in store than the stuff I already know is coming.
Not weird at all. Kills are kills, a dime a dozen in horror films, but those behind the scenes secrets are unique and special. For example the actor Steve McQueen had a reputation for being very demanding, insisting on weird things like a bunch of pairs of jeans and electric razors when doing a film. What a prima donna, right? As it turned out the items he requested were donated to a boy's reformatory school. In other words he was trying to help out some troubled kids that probably hadn't known much kindness. I think those kinds of facts are pretty cool.
Not at all, I completely feel that. All the production background makes it great.
It makes the video feel more wholesome. You learn about the locations and whether they were build in a studio or real. You learn details like a staff member having the mask lying around, which became Jason's iconic mask. I can never find anything on Roy Burn's mask. Jason had a mask from a specific team yet there is nothing like that for Roy Burns, a character that I found interesting as he was a bit like Pamela as in they both blamed everyone. Roy killed everyone but his son's murderer which is sad and the he killed the punk girl.

This was my mom's favorite Jason movie. She always talked about how she saw Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D when she was 3 months pregnant with me, lol
I cracked up every time James said “whoooaaa” due to the 3D effects of Friday Part III. I was slightly distracted by his hair it was very wavy in the front on top lol. I can’t believe James is re-counting the entire Friday The 13th franchise but I’m so glad that he is. It’s my favorite horror franchise. Thanks James and I’ll continue to be good people.

I remember seeing Rick’s death as a young kid on tv one night, and it scarred me for years, though I couldn’t remember where I saw it from. So- thank you, as this gave me some closure as to which movie that scene was from 😅

I watch the kill count all the time regardless but I’m watching through all the Friday and Nightmare movies and I love watching the kill counts like a kind of “post game carnage report” for horror movies, whenever I watch a movie that’s been covered on the kill count I do this and it’s a great little refresher/highlight reel for what you’ve just watched

Chris is my favorite Final Girl from this series as well and I kinda wish she could’ve came back(cameo at the beginning of The Final Chapter doesn’t count).
For me Richard Brooker was one of the scariest Jason’s as well and I wish he could’ve played him more than once before he passed away but what can you do.
It’s fine if you disagree but I feel like Part 3 gets an unfair amount of hate but it’s also my favorite in the series but still.

That's kind of the plot of Friday the 13th part 5. Not a sanitarium but troubled teens with various psychological issues. Also the plot of Nightmare on Elm Street 3. The movie Bad Dreams.. etc lol But if you wanted people trapped in a building being killed by Jason I totally understand that would've been a DIFFERENT (maybe more interesting) direction for the Friday/13th Series.

6:16 There’s a couple Master of Kung Fu comics in the background. That’s actually the series that starred Shang-Chi as the protagonist. Who had his own movie this year. I liked how older movies sometimes had comics and Marvel characters in the background. Like that kid’s room in Jingle All the Way.
