Rob Zombie writing his first horror movie: "What if EVERY character was Ethel from Friday 5?"
This particular Friday film is almost begging for Zombie to remake it.
Let’s just not, though, yeah? Haha
😂😂😂 Fuck Yes! Greatest observation ever!
@@systematic11 Given that senseless brutality and wacky stunts and characters are pretty much all the later Friday movies had going for them, Rob Zombie probably could have done them better than Halloween. A movie like Jason Takes Manhattan (Or as I call it, Jason Takes The Ferry) done as self-aware lo-fi trash horror would be way better than the bloodless, underwritten borefest it ended up. Obviously some of that's the time period, but still - Rob Zombie's directing is all filthy, gritty style over substance, pretty much what all the late Friday films wanted to do but were too cut down and poorly done to actually nail it.
@@noesunyoutuber7680 it’s so weird. Out of all those late series Friday films, the only one I like more each time I see it is JGTH. The rest are just burning barrel material. But for some reason I find some fun with JGTH.

I love how Tommy Jarvis is super well in shape and good at fighting. It’s like the events of the previous film traumatized him so much he decided to be as physically fit and as good at fighting as possible so that Jason could never hurt him again.
It’s a great little character detail.
John Shepherd plays the character really well and is actually believable as a victim of a psychopathic killer

I always liked this one since I initially marathoned the series. This is the first one to actually do something a little different that separates it from the first four, at least as far as I see it. Plus, I seriously enjoyed that it had some of the best/most kills and nudity
I agree. People hated it. But I loved the boobs. And the mask looked cool (blue lines instead of red) the ambulance dude being the killer never bothered me. I didn't think it was stupid. I thought it was a clever twist. The rain pouring at the end too.
The reason I don't like this one is because it is the one that feels less like a horror movie and more of an exploitation film. I don't really care about nudity, and if I did I would look it up online. This film sucks.

I love how Danny let the actors do whatever they want. The actos did great and i really enjoyed this movie. This movie is severely underrated.
The hockey mask in this film has blue markings on it instead of red ones, foreshadowing that the real killer isn't Jason at all.
The hockey mask used during the opening title sequence is of a different style, with different markings, than the hockey mask used in parts III and IV. This is a prophetic clue to the viewer that the man behind the mask is an imposter.
Although "Part V" appears on all promotional material, it does not appear in the actual film. The opening credits simply read: "Friday the 13th: A New Beginning."
This is the first film in the series where Jason is actually referred to by his full name: Jason Voorhees. In Friday the 13th (1980), Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981), and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), he is only referred to as Jason, while he is not referred to by name at all in Friday the 13th Part III (1982).
Coincidentally, Deborah Voorhees shares her real surname with Jason.

i feel like, as i watch all the friday the 13th kill count videos, that every movie does one thing worse than the last and one thing better.
James' logic about the dream kills actually makes perfect sense. Life and death are usually defined by presence and absence, especially when it comes to kill counting. When something is in a state of living, and then that state is changed to one of absence, then they are put on the kill count (with notable exceptions for things like zombie movies). In addition to that, a state of life could be defined as a typical existence within a context--the "normal state" of a character. You wouldn't count a TV death of an actor who is a character, because their life is outside of the context of the TV. HOWEVER, the two dream kill victims are only alive within the context of the dream--their normal state is in the context of the dream. That life is then removed within the same context, with no sense that they ever show up again in a more "real" context. In contrast, Pam is alive irl, and has a "more real" life than the one taken away by dream tommy.
Yeah!
So in simple terms dream world people exist in dream world and die in dream world but don't die in real world because they don't exist there
I barely understood that.

Yep
That's because he was proably in jail and police custody.
Only the adults at the house were even kinda justified in getting killed. Who gives disturbed teens unsupervised access to weapons?
Yeah
It's more of the neglect from the adults and teens that Roy blamed for Joey's death, esp. since a nut like Vic has access to an axe, which the adults should've known not to let him handle one. He felt they backstabbed(no pun intended) his son, when in fact, they cared for him.
