Where Did the Black Friday Phenomenon Come From?

Black Friday has its roots in a financial crisis known as the Panic of 1869. In September of that year, two financiers conspired to corner the gold market, but President Grant's administration caught wind of the scheme and sold millions of dollars of gold to break the corner. This caused a panic in financial markets. The price of gold dropped, and so did the stock market, leaving thousands bankrupt. Oh, and this happened on a Friday, hence the "Black Friday" moniker. #InsideEdition

WRONG. The reason it's called black Friday is because black is the color of profit in business. When a company "goes black", it means it is making profit. And since many people go shopping during the Friday after Thanksgiving, companies earn profit so they go black, thus the term Black Friday.

I went an hour before there wasn't that many people we didn't want to get anything just look around my dad had a friend who was pregnant and dint want to stand in line but wanted a pillow so we said since we were ahead we would get it for her, but by the time we got there none were left!
