You're genuinely the most helpful film maker on CZcams... That I have come across anyway. Pro tips for all film makers in any genre shooting with any budget. I hope you know how much we appreciate it.
Your videos never waste my time! This is just another example. Love it!
awesome tips brandon! you made me discover that "testimonial portrait" is the name of that thing i like so much in some videos. thank you!
Thank you Brandon. I soak in your advice like a dry sponge. ✌️
Cool to see you here =^^=
So many film makers go off to too many tangents to explain their directing process, but you strip it down to the simplest way. Thanks Brandon!!
You never fail to give the best pointers that no one else has given ever. Thank you, Brandon!
What I like about you is that you are not all talk , you have proof of what you´re meaning is , expresing it with a diferent shot or short film
Your gimbal skills plus directing skills and god knows what you in post, combined with stories... never get enough!
I was an actor in my younger days. I made more student films than I can remember. Every time I'd audition for a play, I'd get stopped on the way out by student filmmakers wanting to use me and others in their films. It amazes me how few of them, who had already learned so much about film technique, could direct a human being. Had they just watched this video, they'd have been 10x better filmmakers.
Brandon you are by far the best film instructor on you tube with a genuine passion for helping others your film making is excellent and you are a really nice person which just shines through in your videos thank you
Extremely useful, concise yet clear explanation and excellent examples. Not a single minute is ever wasted in your videos. Thank you!!!
See's Email on phone about new video.....drops phone, runs up stairs, jumps in seat, search, press play......Watches.....and then the long wait for the next one begins.
When Brandon pus up a video of tips I immediately click to watch it. His videos are super informative and helpful. I seriously wanted him to make a tips video on how to direct talent. And I didn’t even have to ask. It’s like he can read my mind!!!!!
Very refreshing to hear good practical advise on CZcams that actually makes a difference, love your honesty
Brandon you are the real beast. You have the best production channel thus so far, keeping it applicable simple and real advice
Shooting weddings I run into this almost EVERY shoot ; I've learned to just be silly and make fun of myself a little bit to loosen up the bride and groom ; I've been able to transfer this skill over to studio work and works like a charm!
maaan! you are one of few who really shows how inclusive and emotive cinematography can be! much love :)
Great knowledge Brandon!
Yes I've also found that the more I build that connection with people or friends before filming where they're okay either me and basically a camera attached to my hand/eye or close to my face, the more they just interact with me and forget about the camera.
But also when the focus is the camera and you stop socialising during filming, it gets awkward.
It's a tricky balance to get the right amount of intimacy. Requires a lot of practice and staying alert to the social signals people are giving you.
I just cannot stop watching your videos. Thank you so much for all these tips.
Hey Brandon, I'm subscribed on different film-making channels which are pretty useful and professional. But this one is where the real talent begins. Thank you!
I have searched the CZcams for inspiration, tips and tricks and for understanding how to get better in my filmmaking. sir you are the most important page in my subscription list till now! Thankyou.
You are a magician Brandon! As a beginner on shooting videos you give me so much valuable tips and details that I didn't think about. Please post more and I will support you as much as I can
Wowzers those slo motion captures! Your story telling is truly beautiful and inspiring. Much peace and love
Your tips are gold! All your videos need to be watched more than once as time passes
of all the tips there are yours were the most genuine and thoughts-generate
Please keep uploading Brandon... I really appreciate your tips your videos, everything...you really inspire me and I can see some improvements in my own projects and mostly because of what I'm learning from you...thank you!!!
Great tips Brandon! These tips are like my bread and butter for shooting subjects but I couldn't describe it to ppl. This video made it so much more simple!
I just found this channel and hands down the best in the business! Totally helpful for upcoming filmmakers! Thank you man!
Thank you soooooo much Brandon! I always appreciate your work and advice for the better of Filmmaking community!
YES! Directing tutorial is what I need the most. Hope you will make more video tutorial about directing film.
Great tips. I’ve been watching some of your tips for a long now. You’ve encouraged me to start doing also shorts films instead of only travel films.
Very well done tutorial. I especially noticed your comment about how to create in the actor the emotion you want. Like you said, it doesn't come from the mind down but instead from the body up. Moving and acting upon something is the catalyst that creates emotion. Very insightful of you.
I'm a photographer and I'm learning a ton from this! Thanks Brandon!
Man, you're a great resource for the small details that make your videos great!
Really love the tips here. The keep rolling one is key for shy subjects.
Brandon, just want to thank you for the tips you're giving in many of your videos. I'm really wanting to know more about fimmaking and you're giving me some very important tips. Thx!
Next to a great filmmaker, you are an amazing, natural Mentor. Thank you.
You seriously have one of the best, if not best film channels on CZcams. I've learned more from your couple videos than dozens or hundreds of other videos. You do a great job of talking about practical things that people haven't talked about and you have amazing work to back up everything you're saying. Thanks!
I do wish more of the tutorial guys on YT also posted their own finished films. It seems like a scam when they give advice without showing what they can do.
A lot of them do know what they are doing. But there are definitely some who don't and are just repeating what they've heard from books/others/school.
Who do you recommend?
DSLR Guide is one of my favorites. He's young and hasn't done any huge projects but he does a lot of stuff that's different from everyone else and focuses everything on story rather than gear/trick which I appreciate. Also raises some really good discussions about film/video making. I used to watch a bunch of channels pretty religiously but after a while a lot of it seemed to be the same thing on repeat.
Love this. Such a fresh approach with all of your tutorials. This is gold right here.
Thank you Brandon! Your channel is like taking a master class.
the most awesome channel about cinematography that i ever find, even my teacher didnt taught me this lesson thanks a lot man im really appreciate it. hopefully your channel grows more bigger. greetings from Indonesia

Brandon, this is fantastic! I often get lost in looking for something "epic" in my shooting instead of engaging my subjects! Thank you for reminding me of the importance of these things!
U are legend sir no one teaches this in film school or in workshop for filmmaking.
Amazing real life tips Brandon. No one shares these valuable tips which we often ignore. Experience speaks!

Thank you so much for always imparting your wisdom in such a friendly, easy-going and understandable way. I'm a beginner, but my shots are so much better because of you challenging me to think about what I'm shooting before I start shooting it.
I´ve been watching several tutorials on shooting and editing, and by far you are the most helpful, straightforward and didactic person so far. Keep sharing man, we really appreciate it! Cheers
I was going to say: "awesome tips Brandon" but someone beat me to it... so I'll say ... I'm writing down your tips in my notebook. Especially the ones on "eye level" and give your actor a goal! Merci Beaucoup!

I love this tips, Brandon. My favorite is breaking the 4th wall with the testimonial portrait.

You produce such value filled content. Thank you for that Brandon! It was interesting how Neill Blomkamp used the "testimonial" portrait in his latest Oats studios shorts. Worked really well in Rakka.
Cool I'll have to check those out. He seems like someone who makes better films outside the studio system
Many thanks for these golden tips Brandon!
Awesome , please keep doing this tips. Cheers from Xalapa, MEXICO !!!
