      Wouldn't this harden pin damage the firing pin in a long run? Maybe the hollow rolling pin was there as a sacrificial piece and not to damage the firing pin? Firing pin retaining pin I'm talking about.

    I got the floating trigger pin, stainless steel guide rod and extra power recoil spring today. It only took a few minutes to install, especially the guide rod which seemed to find it's own way in. Now that these parts and the trigger spring kit are installed I think I am all set. You have helped me turn a very good gun into a fantastic gun. Thanks!

    Excellent tutorial. A quick tip when removing the slide stop, I cut the brush end of an old tooth brush & taper off the handle. I'm too clumsy and might scratch the surface if I use metal on metal. Thanks for the tutorial.

    Recently I bought a 75 pcr. The trigger pull, I thought, was too hard, obviously the decocked double action so I ordered the MCARBO spring kit. I watched the video and found it reasonably easy to follow and correctly install the kit. Having a sturdier replacement pin was an excellent idea as I noted that in this brand new firearm the factory pin was already damaged. I had only fired a few shots because I haven't been to the range, but I have a method for testing the ability for the gun to work. Other than firing a few live rounds I had only dry fired the pistol with snap caps. Nonetheless the pin already had the characteristic bite mark. Getting the trigger pin out was a bitch. Although careful, I still had a ding on the frame (I feel a bit better seeing all the rash on the video demo model). The pin had actually bent and of course I had no replacement. By this time a bit of impatience was setting in. With a half hour of profanity and some banging with a ball-peen hammer I was able to get the pin straight enough to reinsert and finish the job. Yes, I used the correct punch and removed the pin from the small end. I wondered what I would do if I needed to disassemble the pistol again. Now I know. I wish that the floating trigger pin had been in the spring kit, but assume it was not available at the time. I will certainly order the trigger pin for replacement when working on, or cleaning the pistol next time. One thing that I became aware of when installing the spring kit, was that the instruction video illustrated installation of the sear spring for models with safety but not for models with decocker. Knowing the complexity of CZ, I did not attempt to replace the sear spring. A video from MCARBO would have helped greatly as I would have preferred installation of the entire package. The springs that were installed did improve the action and double action pull is improved but not spectacular. This is not a criticism of MCARBO as every gun is a bit different and mine had a very stiff trigger from the factory. Hopefully it will work itself out with a few hundred rounds. A long post, but somewhat of a review. I am glad to see the introduction of the trigger pin! It was the correct answer to a problem.

      @@MCARBO I am anxiously waiting my spring and floating pin kits I ordered from MCARBO just this week. I have also ordered a Trigger Reach Reduction Kit from CGW and plan to install at same time. HOWEVER in the new Decocker Video there seem to be two important points missing: 1) For Single Side Decockers there is no explanation how to remove the Decocker Lever - though I figured out by examination that the Sear Spring must be lifted to allow dis-assembly. This is skipped in the video for Dual Decockers also. 2) I hear there are some additional differences in removing the Sear Assy BLock in Alloy Framed Guns also (a Shim that must be removed?).... If necessary I will do as this respondent here has done and skip the Sear Spring replacement at least until sure about all details. My brand new PCR is waiting to mod - thanks!

    Clarification of my long post below. In summary, I was very pleased with the spring kit. I was disappointed with the trigger from the factory. Without the spring kit, I would not have been able to improve the trigger pull at all. Double action is improved and very tolerable. Single action is excellent. Prior to installation the trigger was a blister maker. Just wanted to be clear.

    @marcvena2050 Před 11 měsíci

    Tolerances on the new CZ SP 01 are much too tight to hammer the trigger pin through without a complete disassembly and the slide secured in a vice. Not sure how many shooters want to do that to their new pistol. My advice would be to wait until after you fire a few thousand rounds and the pin fails, then replace it. The tolerances may then 'loosen' a bit so the trigger pin can be extracted easier and replaced.

    Lots of talk about the integrity of the CZ 75 Compact firing pin retaining pin. General advice I’ve seen is NOT to dry fire the CZ 75 Compact (regardless of model) without snap caps or barrel block in place.

    • @mikenagy938
      @mikenagy938 Před 2 lety

      There is a better way than snaps, a Lazer cartridge that fits in the chamber. The cartridge has a rubber block that the pin strikes which should eliminate the problem. Best thing about the cartridge is that you can fire your gun at Biden every time he comes on TV. Bonus!!

    • @davidgibbs1083

      If you have any metal working skills find a drill bit that's the exact same size then cut off the smooth end the same length as the front sight pin... I did that to mine and I think it's better than that Factory roll pin.
