They need to be in another rom com with a happy ending this time, their chemistry is too good for only one series
Seriously?! She didn't suit the role.
@@nikkibutterfly98and why is that?
@@nikkibutterfly98 What on earth?? Did you watch the same One Day as the rest of us? 😂, immaculate performances by both, brilliantly done
@@ljones396 Yes, I did. Which is why I don't understand all the raving over it!
@@nikkibutterfly98 I don't know what to say, I'm stumped, I'm sorry?
she is so insanely beautiful
She REALLY is
She is pretty but not insanely beautiful. Go yo India or just look at the actresses from there. Then you will see what insanely beautiful is.
@@ant713mare these actresses natural or have they had a lot of work done? Ambika looks natural and wears minimal makeup, that’s a sign of true beauty
Neither 🤣
@antoniademetri no natural. Go back to the olden days when surgery wasn't even available. In fact, just if you visit India, the average woman on the street is stunning. Thick shiny hair, big eyes, full lips, and smooth skin are in our genetics.
leo’s acting is sensational esp the phone booth and the ending. wow
Yess the saddest scene
Keep watching those scenes again and again…
Agreed - so powerfully emotive...
!!
Wow, the ending had me crying for ages. Such a brilliant actor and he captured the emotions so well. So raw. So beautiful!
in that series, he always looks at her with love in his eyes. so beautifully captured.
Yes he's a great actor but it's not made clear why he likes her so much and I found it hard to believe . It wasn't bad but it could have been better.
@@hannahbaxter8825 brother what😒it’s cuz she’s funny and spoke her mind
@@hannahbaxter8825 Cause she gets him.
I love the way he looks at her especially when they are in Greece
I haven't recovered from watching the last episode. It just broke me 😭 To recover from it I started watching their interviews so I could see them talking happily. So here I am 😂
Exactly!!! Thats why im here too hahahaha
Yes it broke me too
I did exactly the same! ❤
We are all in the same boat
Same here 😂
they made the characters feels soooooo real. this story is so hard to forget lmao. their chemistry was special too!
Me too.😢
I feel that every single actor in this series did a fantastic job or portraying their character! We were well into the series and it was a scene with Ian and Em when my husband and I talked about how amazing the acting was! Now watching this video and hearing the writer I realized it was also the writer and the director as well! All of this series was so good and it’s more of what we need! I feel like it’s “old fashioned” and back to basics where the ambiance is carried by the actors! I hope this wins a bazillion awards!
I finished watching the series yesterday and I'm still crying. I'm so heartbroken
my favorite line is when Dex says to Emma, in Paris "I don't think you can". It was the sweetest and more meaningful alternative to "i love you".
Leo has said that's his favourite line too! Good choice 👍
I am so confused why are ppl saying she is not conventionally beautiful? She is stunning, funny and talented in my opinion.
I have a very similar face to Ambika's and in my life I've never been a conventionally attractive person, and that's because our nose is long and is not tiny. I find her and myself stunning btw, but we don't correspond to what society calls: gorgeous. And that's fine, because who f*****g care about stupid norms made by stupid people. I personally don't
Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think Ambika is very charming and well casted as Emma. And her eyes are gorgeous, very intriguing. It also wouldn't make sense if Ambika would be a standard Hollywood beauty storywise. Since Emma has a lot of insecurities and has to work hard to get were she wants to be while Dexter has a lot of pretty privilege during his early career.
she's perfect for the role
I think she’s uniquely beautiful. Conventional beauty i think is just defined by what you might see if you looked at the first person in a trending for you video on tiktok. If the person doesn’t look like that, they’re considered “not conventional” but I like to say uniquely beautiful cause we all know that’s what it is and it’s better than being conventionally beautiful. That’s boring. I’m uniquely beautiful as a bald woman for instance.
She looks like a painting, soooo incredibly beautiful !!
I cannot stop watching it...just a beautiful mixture of love, lust, heartache and immense loss and just the right amount of humor. Brilliant 👏
Leo's acting was just breath taking in this series. It's been a while seen I've seen such good emotional acting in a recent male actor.
"I've never seen a couple with more onscreen chemistry than those two" but i personally think you guys have more chemistry than them
It might only be February, but this is the best thing I’ve seen this year.
yes!
The standard is so high now for the rest of the year 🤣
Easily!
This bloody thing drew me in, made me care about the characters and then proceeded to tear out my heart. I loved it.
I'm still in shock after the emotional roller coaster of this amazing series. Great casting. Terrific chemistry between the 2 leads.
Great casting choice! Great actors and their chemistry is amazing on and off screen!👏🏼
I want their characters to have a happy ending 😭😭😭
same :( @@whatever-i-may-be6849
It’s criminal that we can’t see that
Me too, damn! Tortured us on episode 13😢
Sooo baddd she has to come back to life 😩🤣
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I won't accept it no
This was by far one of Netflix's most outstanding productions. And as someone who lived through the era depicted (UK university, 90s London) I can honestly say that I have never seen the era recreated so accurately.. It was spot on, just amazing like stepping into a time machine. Incredible!!!
I mean now can they do a remake of When Harry met Sally? Its basically Em and Dex with a happy ending! Can't let this crazy chemistry go to waste!
Yess to this!! ❤
I loved the loss portrayed by Dexter, when you don't cry but your eyes do. Just water pouring while your face is serene. This is actually the sincere sorrow. Very, very well made and played. Great morale, as well. Thank you loved it.
Edinburgh, Greece, Paris, London in 80s and 90s. Love, loss, looking back and finding way forward. Reflects my personal journey. SO many amazing memories, some great, some sad. Series and actors deserve every accolade they receive. Totally marvellous. Totally human.
i will never get over this series it made me cry for hours
Days later I’m still traumatised 😭
@@transformationalhealingthe4405 same!!!
Me too! I cannot hear Sonnet by The Verve without tearing ...

Their Acting and Chemistry Together is Insane!!
Absolutely zero chemistry. Let’s be honest 😊

I’m so glad they casted these two the contrast is beautiful between these two
He is also insanely beautiful
Quite simply one of the best things I’ve watched. Beyond perfect and heartbreaking
she is gorgeous; the perfect Emma
That's what I am saying
The creator Nicole has a wonderful way with words and explains the premise so beautifully. “Entitled posho” really made me laugh too 😅
The last scene broked my heart 💔💔
ambika is such a stunner. in love with her.
Ikr , her sarcastic humour and her beautiful smile oh my god
Oh, my God! I deeply love the series, 'One Day'. Ambika is such an amazing actress. I had to Google her after I finished watching the whole series. Dexter's losing Emma was eerie and vicariously painful. I somewhat journeyed with him as he pined away in agony, as years passed after losing Emma. I so much love the series. Kudos to the writer and all the cast and crew. Thanks for the amazing entertainment
definitely watch "this is going to hurt" with ambika. it's so good and she is excellent in it!
Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely go watch this.
Now about Leo... omg Leo.... so frigging cute I can't stand it.
But the way he makes u feel the emotions he's going thru during a scene is so good.
I've mentioned b4 when they were out to dinner in Greece n she says how she got over her crush for him (which u know she was still crushing) but his reaction to that was such a blow for him n omg that scene sticks with me.
The other 1 is when he's holding his sleeping baby in his arms n just the way he's cradling her head, total dad king!
I just love how expressive he is, love watching him!!!
Another scene I love is when everyone shows up for the 2yr anniversary of Emma n ian goes outside to talk to Dex. Ian is basically telling him I never liked u n thot u were a jerk n to watch Dex's face during the scene is so confusing yet understandable if this comment makes any sense. Lol
crazy that Leo said normal people because that is who they reminded me so much of
Their chemistry is off the charts!
Oh New Girl and Normal People??? I knew there was a reason they had my HEART 😭❤️
Very good series, must watch. I’m a big fan of Suspense Thrillers. But decided to check out a light hearted Romance Drama. This series was in depthly portrayed by both Ambika & Leo. With heart felt emotional performances. Yep, have to admit, this story choked me up. I watched it twice.
omg, Ambika is so gorgeous
A golden/ supreme duo 🌟, the chemistry between the two leads was palpable and utter perfection *chef's kiss*. I sobbed and usually I don't cry at things (testament to the sheer quality of this show). Ambika and Leo both deserve best lead actor/ actress awards at the BAFTA television awards and Emmy's. They portrayed and evoked soo many of life's different emotions - it felt real and relatable. Pure talent. Also, the overall production, storytelling, music, cinematography was top-tier. A highly recommend watch!
The best show Netflix has ever shown. Still crying and rewatching for a third time. OMG 😢❤❤. I LOOOOOVE THIS SHOW. PHENOMENAL ACTORS!!!
The way Leo looks at Ambika❤
Ikr 😭
They give me Corey and India vibes from Bridgerton❤ soft chaotic boy meets funny smart girl
When he looks at her he changes his gaze, he seems in love, they have a natural chemistry
@jeancruz-jq5tv do you mean onscreen or offscreen? I do notice in every interview they have done Leo never ever fails to look at Ambika 😊
I lived in the 80s and 90s and they really captured it so so well. Omg this was a beautiful series, I didn't want it to end. Cried my eyes out at the end😭😭😭great job❤❤❤
Millennial here and loved the 80/90/2000s feel to it and their love story was so special, beautiful and sad.
I loved watching their faces in the scene where they were running together.
I will miss this series.
I love them.. one day Netflix is insanely amazing ❤.. their chemistry is palpable..
The Nick and Jess first kiss in New Girl is 100% the best on screen kiss. She is so spot on.
She’s so pretty. They’re so cute together.
This woman is freaking gorgeoussss
I NEED THEM TO WORK AGAIN TOGETHER 😭
she's so pretty, pretty like the sun
I absolutely love her .
He's so handsome ❤
isn't he?!!
Amazing performances by the actors and awesome chemistry! (similar to the level of Nick and Jess imho). Even though I told myself that the ending, the act of killing Emma off at the time that the writer did was a contrived, artificial trick to turn this lovely story into a devastating tearjerker, my heart still couldn't handle it. So cruel and unnecessary. The characters finally got past some of their insecurities to realize that the other person really valued them and that they were enough for each other and then.... I couldn't reason my way out of the painful emotions :) The actors were just too awesome!!! Will rewatch this series but stop at ep 12.
I rewarched it over and over again and then fast forward to the end where he walks back up to her to kiss her over and over again. ❤
@@Kristensfamily22 Ah yes :) with the help of the fast forward button, I can watch beyond ep 12, mainly the last 5 minutes of the series. The Paris scene and kissing montage were very sweet and moving. I also loved the conversation they had as they were descending Arthur's Peak. The way that Dexter smiled and said agreed shows that he didn't believe anything she said, (esp since at the end she contradicted herself by telling him that she doesn't want to be a footnote, meaning she wants more😄 ) I think that's why he chased after her to get her contact and to give her his number. And the story unfolded through all those kisses! I cried lots of happy tears, happy that they found someone so precious in each other. So I guess the series did end on a positive note🥲
My wife and I loved it , so real ,so well done and we both can’t stop thinking about it weeks later !
You couldn't choose better actors to interpret the meaning of this story !! You are fantastic!!!
I knew how this was going to end. Going in I didn’t think the movie could be topped, but I was wrong. This is tragic but beautiful… it’s life. The actors were phenomenal! My heart is broken but I loved it .. thank you for this masterpiece.
Brilliant acting by both of them.
This series was chefs kiss
Just finished watching the series (and crying like a baby for about an hour) and I must give them both a 10/10 for their acting and chemistry on screen with one another. I had watched the film 'One Day' years ago with my Mother, who had also read the book and felt like the movie was missing lots of stuff that made the book extra emotional.
Myself and my Mum are both in agreement that the series adaptation did such a great job at telling this amazing story and conveying all of the emotions throughout.
It's rare for me to be touched by a relationship movie, but this leveled me. I can't think of anything I would change. Every aspect is fantastic. The writing casting , acting, directing, sets, clothes and everything are perfect. I usually love all the dark shows which have no likeable characters, but every character in this is likeable. And it's still so good; a testament to quality.
Such a clever adaptation. Loved everything about it.
It reminds me of a Richard Linklater creation, the evolution of the story over time. I loved this show in so many ways.
I dont usually feel moved by film and tv but wow, the acting was so great in this. I was in tears and on the edge of my seat. The scenes when Dex is crying his heart out are so real. Well done!!!
i am having a hard time functioning right now.. the ending... that kiss.. the series of the flashbacks.... the song.. the feeling! these actors are ASTONISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot stop re-watching this series… I am still crying at every appropriate time as well… So Well Done… Bravo! ❤
I start over again too, like in ten minutes. Strangely empowered by the fact, they have a nuclear chemistry in real life.
Same. I’m in a state of masochism at this point. It’s like my titanic days all over again
I. Cannot. Get enough. Of these two. My God. ❤❤❤❤
'We had to be taught how to use phones' STOP IT! 1979-born me can never handle this sort of statement, haha! Such a sublime series. It floored me. The leads are incredible!!!! Also Dexter's dad (Lord Percy Percy from Blackadder). I watched it a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about how it made me feel. Oof.
To me Their chemistry is better than both fictional couples they mentioned!
Funny how they not only have chemistry but omg they physically fit each other like a glove. Nothing more sensual and raw than when he holds her by her neck like that right as he kisses or their long hugs when they greet each other. Their gaze, cadence, and pauses when they speak. Just an overall great pairing.
My new favourite couple❤
Ambika is very charming! Beautiful, funny, smart, well spoken, talented and of course inspiring
The acting was incredible. Especially the last episode. I was in tears the entire time.
Just finished watching this at the recommendation of my sister I was like sure why not ..oh my gosh Loved It 💗..these two are now my favourite new actors 💞
Such a great series. Wish she wasn’t killed off. I would have loved to see a second season with the two of them creating a family. 😢
Spoiler much?
I watch this series more then 10 times I’m so in love with serious his love for Emma so beautiful 😍
they're perfect, omggg I love them. Regret not seeing the series before. Honestly, pure masterpiece!! chef's kiss hahah
I wasn't sure at first but their dynamic has grown on me. Kinda feels like he worships her. 😻
I've come here so I can pretend there still together.
lol, yeah, this is just Em and Dex a few years on.
I love the sound tack. It´s the sound track of my life and some of my years in London! 😍
I was a crying mess watching this series! They did such an amazing job ❤
Her confidence is beautiful!
Love Ambika even more for being a fan of New Girl and Nick and Jess ❤️
They are soooo niceee! I love them!
Omg I love this show I cried at the end I watch this over and over his love for Emma is lovely ❤
I loved it! Watched it all in 2 days. My favorite romantic series/film ever.
It stoked the embers of my feelings and as a seventy year old I fell in love with Dexter. Loved them both.
I’m so in love with the main characters of this series and still affected by their story ❤
I cant move on. I love leowoodall 😂❤
This was a great series, so much heart! Amazing casting, both are such great actors. As an older viewer, I loved the soundtrack, totally identified with nearly every track. Thanks for an amazing watch!
I didn't expect much but gosh from the first episode on i was hooked. The two actors are absolutely brilliant! I laughed and cried so much and yes it was an emotional roller coaster but such is life. 💯 👏
Amazing soundtrack as well
I am here after the day I finished watching the series and I am baaaawliiing! I miss my Emma and Dexy 🥺😭 Love ya Ambika and Leo!!
I love in Paris when Emma says she thought she had finally gotten rid of Dex - I said no way girlfriend!!
I watched the show then followed up with the movie. This show was amazing. Both actors owned such beautiful and amazing roles. I fast forwarded thru the movie cause the movie just didn’t hit like this show did. How beautiful.
Great series and yes an emotional roller coaster. Beautifully reminiscent of anyone that has gone to University, or not, but of our lives, relationships, friendships, etc. I found myself having flashbacks to so many different memories over the years and so many different people hadn’t thought of. At the end of the show and I was emotionally, overwhelming, but grateful at the same time that I get to experience all that. Thank you for adapting the book and the book itself.
They both good couple even real life. She look lovely and Leo the way she look to Emma, the love is there.
Très belle histoire Ambika et Leo ont joué profondément leurs rôles avec spontanéité. Un bel avenir d'acteurs les attends, ils méritent grandement . Bravo❤❤❤❤
Gosh they were perfect for this! They’re my Dex and Em. (Also Leo mentioning Normal People omg)
The series was so good ! Also such brilliant acting from the cast !❤😭🙌🏼
They are both in a relationship damn! Team Leo and Ambika here❤
I loved this series. These 2 actors bring the book and the characters completely to life. Loved their chemistry and I loved this production so much more than the film. Just one point I would like to make - as Dexter is re-living one of his memories at the end of the series and he runs after Emma I believed I heard him calling her Emily. Did I hear right or not?
I remember that too. For a second there I was confused
I would excuse that cos maybe it was his second day meeting her
He did, but he said Emily teasingly, as just in the scene before where his Mum called her Emily by mistake, both Dex and Emma simultaneously corrected Dex's Mum with, Emma. He knew her name was Emma. He was teasing her 😍
@@adv.nadiabadat1154 Thx for the explanation.
Binged the whole series in one sitting. I couldn’t turn it off. It totally recked me. So incredibly good. I bald my eyes out. ❤
