- Graham Norton and his guests want to know more when actor Ambika Mod reveals that she finds it hard to close her eyes fully, and sleeps with them open.
Among the guests on Graham's sofa is knight of the stage and screen Ian McKellen, taking the role of Falstaff in Player Kings, a new version of Shakespeare's Henry IV plays.
Also, award-winning actor Michael Sheen, talking about his new Welsh BBC drama series The Way, which he also directed, Ambika Mod, starring in the Netflix version of David Nicholls’ romantic bestseller One Day, and top comic Josh Widdicombe.

I actually talk with that cadence in speech and idk why or how do ppl find it funny cuz i dont 😢 (but i certainly enjoy the attention and laughter i get 😅)

And this is why Graham’s show is the best chat show. Everyone gets really relaxed with each other and these absolute gems of stories just flow out of people. It wasn’t a topic of conversation that was pre-planned. But everyone joined in and showed their personalities. Blumin love this show

I remember as a kid having a sleep over with a friend and when I woke up the next morning I saw him snoring with his eyes open, it was creepy.

My eyes don't close completely when I sleep. I only discovered it when I switched from daily wear contact lenses to the lenses you can wear overnight. My eyes were so dry and irritated and my ophthalmologist did a test to discover that my eyes don't close completely when I blink either.
I passed this phenomenon down to my daughter, who has just recently passed it down to her daughter. It's only cute on a baby. 😊
So I'd love to say it's just because we don't want to miss anything going on. But in reality, it's an anatomical issue that can cause more complicated eye issues. And it's NOT cool or fun to have to deal with. 😢
honey there are no lenses you can wear overnight! please please take them out! even if they're monthly or whatever, you still need to take them out at night.
Monthly contact-lenses only means you can use them for a month before throwing them away, not that you can have them in....you still need to take them out nightly.
@@ZarkowsWorld on my monthly contacts it's written that you can sleep in them up to several days consecutively. I accidentaly tried it a few times and when they're new and fresh it's quite alright. But i'd still not do it deliberately
@amywuester136 we are living the same experience!! Sometimes my eyes feel glued shut cause they’re so dry 😂 to everyone saying you should take lenses out at night, these lenses are called ortho k, specially made to wear overnight
Do you have big eyes? Because I feel that people with big eyes have this problem. I do too and two of my brothers do as well we all have big eyes

bc of the british accent i was hearing "see with your eyes open" multiple times and thought she misspoke and everyone was laughing because of that. i couldnt believe it when i realized it.
the funny thing is gandalf ACTUALLY can sleep with his eyes open, its a scene in the movies (maybe only in the special extended versions) which is a nice little coincidence.
She made everyone laugh, including the guests, but didn't laugh or smile even once herself till the last few seconds of this video. 🤣 I think that's what made it so funny.
I used to have an Indian girlfriend who also did this. A little bit creepy at first, but you get used to waking up next to somebody staring at you with fully white eyes.
I did this when I was younger. Used to freak people out when they would start talking to me only to realize that I slept with my eyes open.

I remember reading about a tattoo artist that fixed that for someone who had "too short" eyelids, so they wouldn't close during night, and she had very dry eyes.
Supposedly the tattoo artist "tattooed" her eyelids with a series of stripes without using ink, and that made the skin on the eyelids heal up slightly longer than before.

Since i was a kid i sleep with my eyes open ad that brings me problems like i have red eyes when i wake up and have baggy eyes all the time because of that. Also i sleepwalked until 3 years ago and did it quite often when i was young, now imagine a 7 year old kid walking in the house with white eyes and moving like a fugging zombie, so the next morning every single member of my family were afraid of me and had quite a lot of similar experiences i never get tired of hearing

I remember Margi Clark was the one who introduced Graham to me. He was a sidekick on her show and was pretty funny alongside her. I wasn't sure a Graham Norton show was going to work when it started but boy did he step up. He is brilliant.
