    • @unusuario5173

Dr Tyson often thinks that everybody is as interested as he is in astrophysics.
That's why the concept of him sparking interest among us who aren't as excited as he is about it is so foreign.
He then just considers himself a vessel to the knowledge. But he's way more than that.
It was indeed a beautiful moment.

Not when schools values grades than learning, and when students don't put effort into their learning/reports. You can have a lot of lessons like the above, but if it is not seen on paper and students don't get their expected grades for their lack of effort on paper; then there's nothing you can do. Students/parents prefer passive learning than discovery nowadays. Once it gets a little difficult, what do you think would happen in the classroom?

Because, we are so used to watching black people marvel at sports and music business mainly (i won't say show business, because, it's still tough for a lesser known black actor to get jobs right away). And, i am not from the states, but i have friends and families living there, and by what i have heard and seen on tv and films, black kids idolizes the music artists and the athletes and want to be like them. It is sad that in medical school they tell people to swear in the name of Hypocrates, a greek white man, they so call father of medicine, even though he wasn't the father of medicine, because the real father of medicine was a blackman named Imhotep who served the the black Pharaoh Djoser from the third Dynasty, the first man to performance cirurgical experiences on people using methods that are used today.

Unslaad Vaas trump isn t a scientist ,he is a business men, and also most of people who have the hardest (intelectual) jobs like being a scientist, biologist, doctors, physicists etc are mostly right wing conservative whites, and neil is just a very intelligent person, he is not a genius nor as intelligent as our best us whites scientist, or russian scientists, he just learned what other people( whites ) created/invented and their theories, as long as i know he didn t brought anything new to astronomy or physics

I think what Trevor was getting at is that Neil does indeed make science interesting. Science popularizers are the real MVPs. Maybe Trevor didn't realise that Neil knows the value of science popularizers better than anyone already, and shouldn't need to point that out or do anything but just go on stage with his happy-go-lucky attitude and work his magic. He certainly knows what Sagan would say about teaching. Unfortunately there are people who misinterpret Neil's popularizing as being some kind of underhanded manipulation or other stupid things, which might be why Trevor wanted to reestablish what science popularizers really are for.

I really love that you can see how enthusiastic he was to respond and teach, that he couldn't get the words out. Neil is a amazing teacher, a very humble man, and one of the brightest minds on this planet. Lastly a former wrestler, so he may be a nerd, but he'll kick your ass too! Haha

Yeah. Columbus did that on "La Espanola" island (Dominican Republic and Haiti). Had he tried that on Mexico or Central América, natives (Aztecs or Mayans) would have laughed at his face, and replied "Is not your god that does that. It's ours, and we've known for hundreds of years that this week the moon will turn dark."
