    The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
    My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!

      Just another video Idea. You should make a "What If?" episode about what if Arvydas Sabonis came to the blazers when he was originally drafted and if he wasn't injured. The way people talk about him in his prime, he would have changed nba history and him and drexler may have taken a few championships away from the bulls, lakers or celtics.

      Let me preface this with saying that I believe Wilt would have been great in any era. That being said had his career started in 1970 or later he would have never put up the averages that he did in the first few years of his career. In the early 60s the league was literally playing at it's fastest pace in history. For instance each team missed on average 60+ shots per game back then (120 total rebound opportunities per game) and this allowed for Wilt to rack up obscene amounts of rebounds and 2nd chance point. He would put up great numbers in any era, but just not numbers like that.
      Also what always seems to get swept under the rug when talking about the size of his opponents back then (specifically early to mid 60s) was their actual weight and strength. Wilt in his early days was about as big as a young Shaq and the players that he was facing (even the ones 6'10"+) were somewhere between 210-230 lbs. Even his biggest rival back then Russell was all of 6'9" 215 lbs. In essentially every era following the 60s big men were routinely between 250 and 300 lbs. Players were simply built for the fast pace of the league and that is why they were more slim and absolutely no match for Wilt's strength. TBF that also points to how impressive Wilt's endurance was to be able to play so many minutes at such a big size.
      Ultimately Wilt would have been great in any era as there is no question that he was a massive guy with great strength and athleticism. He also had good touch all the way out to the mid range. It would have been awesome to see him face off with a prime Shaq. That would have been a ton of size and strength going right at one another down low.

      I mean i love players with skills and those who can shoot the ball, which is why steph is my fav current player but man, the amount of threes teams shoot nowadays is just stupid.
      the warriors shoot threes, go to the basket AND shoot midrange jumpers. but teams looked at that and went "oh yeah, lets just shoot threes and go for layups so that our offense is less diverse and more predictable".
      i understand that the game changes over time (always has and always will) but parts of it just aint fun anymore.
      not saying bigs cant go to the perimeter but damn, it would be nice to see them bang in the low post and be physically dominant again.

    • @Iltffny
      @Iltffny Před 4 lety +1

      just thought about what shaun livingston wouldve been like on another team. they might not play him as much cuz he cant shoot the three or make him practise that shit all day long even though his midrange is straight money.
      the warriors looked at their personnel and said "this is what they r good at individually and collectively so lets try to maximize that". other teams saw that and tried to copy it without actually looking at the talent they got and what they r good at.
      not saying this as a "warriors this/warriors that" kind of thing but it just infuriates me that other teams have been operating the way they have.
      i get that different skill sets r more prioritized/valued during any given era but damn, every player is talented in different ways so why not just let them be them instead of trying to mold them into players who can do nothing but shoot threes on offense.
