  • COME FARM WITH ME!
Well, not just me... my entire family! I'm back for another month of daily vlogging.
There will be sheep, planting (both the crops, and the GARDEN), my kids, and whatever else gets thrown in the mix.
The thing about farming, is there is no pre-planning.
I mean, there is... but you have to be ready to change those plans.
So if you are ready for a little farming adventure... I'll be here!
    Today is all about feed.
Looking at my corn silage, I have to decide if I should open my last bag. This time of year I'm always scared I will run out of feed...
We are a month away from first cut hay.
I also took the time to show you how I clean out my Grober Eco2 Lamb Feeder.
And the kids helped me fill some dry corn bins.

I am learning so much from you Sandy. You explain things so well! I have no experience with anything related to agriculture so most of this is new to me. I am an RN in California. I have always been drawn to medical videos and vet videos... but ever since I found your channel I have branched into Ag channels. Yours is my most favorite channel. It started with the lambing but you have other jobs so you have led me into Ag! I love it. It almost makes me wish I had a do-over in life so I could have gone into Ag instead of medicine. Thank you for teaching and showing us the ups and downs of life. I look forward to your videos every day and when there is no new video I go back and watch older videos. I just cant get enough! Your smiling face keeps me smiling especially during this lockdown from the Covid-19 pandemic! I cannot tell you how much you mean to me... especially during this time!

Thank you for taking the time to share. I know it involves extra time and work, a tough combination for a very busy farmer. God bless you and all the farmers out there. A situation like we are experiencing now shows us how much we depend on you to keep the food supply rolling. We have shut down a huge packing plant here and it still has not opened back up.

All that spoiled silage you can use on your garden this year, rototill in directly. Or mix it with manure for next year, stir it a couple of times over summer, then lay it out to over winter in the garden. You'll have a great start for next year's garden.

We found it was worth trying a crop of yellow sweet clover just to get the jump on a new crop of timothy/alfalfa started. Yellow clover is biennial but tough as any professional boxer so gives that added protection for any new crop attempting to break through for its first years, even when harvested in its 1st, immature year. Roots and stubble still serve the necessary purpose for the wanted crop!😘🤗🤗🤗😁😎

Sandi talk to Romey about how she cleans out her milk machine and hoses because she has the same one that you have. Her’s came with an attachment that looks like a sprayer you find on a kitchen sink and faucet. It helps with cleaning the tubes because it is similar to a power washer and the nozzle fits into the tubing. She also has these Pom Pom like things that you put in the end of a tube and combined with the pressure washer it scrubs out the inside of the tubes. It would really help you with keeping everything on the milk machine clean. Like you said adding a bit of white vinegar to the water when you clean out the milk machine, coffee maker, teapot or kettle not only helps to clean it, it also acts like a disinfectant that kills bacteria and anything else that might affect whoever is using the machines. I use it in our coffee maker, dishwasher and washing machine because it will also kill any mold and mildew. I have severe allergies which means I have to be extra careful to clean and disinfect many things I use daily. You are amazing and I have learned so much since I discovered your channel and I appreciate everything you do and share with us in your videos. My respect for farmers has definitely grown multiple times since I found you through Vlogmas 2020. If you can it would be amazing if did a video on each of your special sheep, telling their stories and what makes you keep them. No pressure, just thought it would help those of us newbies catch up and understand how and why they’re special sheep or lambs.❤️🐑🐏👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💚💚

We used to be able to buy strip plastic that was like a split hose and it had a piece that clipped inside it. You would put the top and bottom sheets of plastic in the "u" plastic and then snap in the round filler piece. Made joins so tight we would use a vacuum pump and suck out the air from our bags when making silage.

Just found your channel recently and have been binge watching videos. Saw a few recent ones, then started back at the beginning. Love it!! You are honest and hard working.. reminds me of helping my grandparents w their herd of angora goats, complete with their amazing border collies :-) .

I have an idea why you get spoilage at the end and maybe a better way to fix it. You take 2 boards and screw through the boards but you roll up and over which gives a chance for any water to run down the plastic between the boards and into the hay or corn silage how about rolling the boards down and under instead of up and over. I worked the flea market and tables never get wet that have the boards rolled under the tarp.

They’re figuring out its more of a vascular virus vs respiratory. People have been getting transfusions and being put on ECMO and it seems to be helping....but the vent patients are so sick, and that’s why it’s taking forever to get off the vent. There definitely needs to be some sort of vaccine to maybe help prevent new infections but I don’t think we are actually going to be rid of this for a long time. 😢

The ways sheep find to die are just mindblowing. I read this sheep related quote on another shepherd channel I follow the other day, pretty much to that effect, sheep always try to find a way to die. Crazy woolly creatures. Let's hope it's all fine. I can't believe what a small thing can cause such devastating consequences. Nuts
