Sandi i just wanted to tell you a story, so you can remember how inportant you and your videos are! Im 17 and im studying agriculture in Norway. I have always enjoyed your videos, and there have been so many times they have helped me learn, i remember our last laming seson (we have about 40 ewes at our school that we breed every year. And the students have day+night watches and almost full responsebility) i had my first ever night watch and the first lamb was stuck with only its head out. I was pretty scared, fearing that i would not get it out. But luckly i hadd just watched one of your videos where you described what to do if such a situasion happened. I got it out, and the result was a big healthy lamb. Thank you for showing us how its like without filter. And thank you for my A in «sheep class» (i know there might be a lot of spelling errors im sorry)

Just found your channel - love it. I grew up on a farm. We milked cows by hand and hayed it by hand and horses. We were so poor that we didn't know it until we left the farm. So watching this is so far removed from how we grew up that we are all in total amazement. Seeing a lady running her own enterprise is also mind-boggling. I like that you are all looking out for one another, farm to farm. I also like it that you have empathy for the lower 48. Yes, we are having a very hard time of it in so many ways that we are on our knees praying that things will get better and soon. So watching your channel gives us hope, that better days are ahead. God bless you all.

I like yours and your family's videos. I have never seen big rectangle bales wrapped before. Having grew up on a dairy farm, I understand the importance of having good quality feed for the livestock. We were basically poor,so we just stacked our hale bales out in the weather. I think, and understand that silage is supposedly the best way to store it,plus it is chopped and easier for the animals to eat. I am with you and feel terrible about this weather that you farmers have had to deal with the last couple of years. It really tries on you depending on mother nature. She can make or break a harvest years very quickly.

That wrapped is a neat contraption -- I've always seen the large "marshmallow" like bales in the fields, but never seen the actual process. Didn't know you could wrap the square bales too. Is there a risk feeding wrapped hay to sheep? I know there is to horses -- botulism can kill them quickly if present. I didn't know if the ruminant animals were more resistant to that sort of thing where all their food gets eaten once, chewed twice, and then digested.

with round bales you can place them on the flat side at their final destination, remove the net wrap and then stick the bale spear in and give it a nice shake. repeat a few times and you should have all the material loosely on the ground. however as long as you always have access to a machine in order to move your bales on your farm squares make more sense unless you wanna have your very own baler since round balers are way cheaper.

We have farmed for well over fifty years and farming has been good to us in spite of all the challenges!!😊 We used to have farrow to finish pigs and retired from that about twenty years ago, now just raise corn and soybeans. I really enjoy your blogs..
and remember all the hard work and challenges with livestock too.
    Take care😊

Sandi, you are a great farmer, a fine woman and a sincere human being. I have no doubt that your daughter takes after you in all of the above. She does however need her own channel. She does not go over well with her pouting selfies in a combine to your target audience.

This was such an interesting video! I could sit there all day and watch large equipment, be it a backhoe or haying equipment. It is really nice to see things about the "background" operations for your sheep farming.

The wrapper sounds like when you drag your hand on a whiteboard.
(Also my power has been out 18 hrs, hope all the food we just bought the day before doesn't spoil...)

Tips from someone who has spent 72h without electricity: Keep the fridge closed. No peeking inside to see what there is to eat. If you need to take something out, think beforehand and be quick about it. Fridges hold pretty nicely if kept closed and only opened in dire necessity. If you have ice (and no shortage of drinking water) you can chuck some inside, but be careful not to soak the thing up.
Also, if there's some shop nearby, buy food that does not need cooling and that can keep outside of a fridge once cooked. Better run to the store everyday than have unedible leftovers.
