Watching all 50 Macan videos all unembargoed at the same time.
😂 good luck!!
Hahaha
And mostly filmed at same location in France
LOL all the same and all in the same place
Only watching this one. I like the way Kyle reviews vehicles. Even if I don't care about SUVs or Trucks.
I was going to order one but.
The way my bank account is set up!
Yeah I looked, just a few grand short.. anyway you can spot me $90,000?
Kyle, any time an embargo is lifted, I always watch your videos because they are always informative, fun to watch, and unbiased thoughts!
Seeing your mom fangirl over the Macan was awesome 😄
Thank you, Kyle, for the solid, nerdy video!;) It really helps potential buyers to spec their car. (I ordered my Macan a day after the launch in January and picked the Turbo on your remark "get the turbo!")
Your dad is a genius! He got around the embargo that your mom put by taking her to see this car lol 😂
I agree that no one-pedal driving is a miss. It should be an option. It took me about 5 minutes to get used it on a Model 3. After that I wouldn’t want it any other way. In daily driving for me it’s just a better way to drive.
100%
Good observations about the 1 pedal driving .. why not offer it and let the driver decide I wonder what the thinking was
I agree Porsche should give the driver the option to use one pedal driving.
but then Porsche can only sell 1/2 as many $500 brake pads
@@wydryfly the brake actually is hybrid one
@@wydryfly Ohhh you poor peasant. Add a zero to that for each corner, every 20k miles.
And I agree Porsche should not!!
@@wydryflyJust so you know in future, pretty much all EVs use regen for braking, even when you press the brake pedal. It's only when you hit the brakes hard that the discs engage.
I want to see the Macan Turbo and Model Y Performance, and Ioniq 5 N running on the trac 😆
Ionia 5 n is the best on the trac by Sports Auto in Germany 😮
Given how positive the reviews have been for the Macan EV from looks, to driving dynamics, to range, I'm excited for the Cayenne EV!
More spacious, more power, bigger battery together with the active ride it will be a serious upgrade. Macan EV is pretty damn perfect anyway for it's class
55:38 Kyle your smile here says it all ❤
This was a bad day to start the "Take a shot every day Kyle says 'Spicy'" challenge.
Great thorough video as always, glad Porsche engineers realize that you are someone they can discuss the nerdy stuff with.
Greetings from Northern Germany for your nice mom from a German regular customer of your channel.
Dave’s going to have to get that contract back out again! 😂
He destroyed that contract
Great job, Kyle....as always! You were pretty impressed with the drive quality, were you able to test either models on rough/uneven road surfaces? My Tesla Y is butter smooth on the well-maintained highways but pretty cranky with road imperfections, especially after a rough winter (ruts, loose gravel, etc). Also, how about starting a heavy lobby for a one-pedal option through a software update? Keep up the great work! Thanks
Good stuff Kyle,, always.
The sharp design, the engineering, the range, the build quality, the badge... man, I would love to have the new Macan
A simply awesome video. Well done Kyle!
I love your revue Kyle.Im Taycan owner and will be for some years more
the stance is perfect!
Great content. Your cameraperson has a big thumb.
😅😅😅 I tough I was the only one who noticed
I gotta say, as much as I wanted to put the Macan on my shortlist for my next EV, the lack of one pedal driving is a deal breaker. Once you’ve gotten used to one pedal driving, as I/many have, it’s really hard to go back. I hope it’s something they can introduce as an option via an OTA update.
Agree. Porsche really made a mistake by not letting people have the OPTION. It’s all software anyways! I found it annoying in the Taycan - they are heavy and have lots of inertia so u accelerate then have to get on the brake immediately cause the thing just coasts like is on a hill in neutral.
Great review. Thanks! On the key, to me it looks like a ‘model’ of the car, so the buttons are located relative to the things they do. Based on that, I think the button placement is just right.
3:15 I love how that random kid is just as in awe as your mom is lol
That fob looked HUGE!
Maybe he has little Trump hands.
Unfortunately porsche hasn't figured out how to implement phone key.
Glad one pedal driving was mentioned. Those coming from tesla may find it hard to adapt to the macan EV.
I read you can set it up to be similar to Tesla driving ?
@@kevinw3621 there isn't such option in the macan EV
😱
Love brake blending
I was born and driving long before Tesla showed up ;) so transitioning from my Model Y to the Macan will be a breeze. I loved one pedal driving for the first few months because it was different...but in the end found that you trade moving your foot to constantly pivoting your foot on and off the accelerator. I am pretty indifferent now but one thing I will miss is the "hold" behavior when your stopped at a light or stop sign. A work around would be to leave ACC on and the stop and go feature stops and holds you (assuming you have a car in front of you) however not sure if it kicks off if your stopped after a shot time or not.
36:36 - okay cool that they addressed one of my concerns back when the first prototypes were being shown in that they DO offer a normal coil spring suspension after all🤙however what continues to be unfortunate is that they are NOT offering it here in 'Murica (at least not in the first model year anyway).😔
@KyleConner I may have missed it, but any info on what the battery temperature needs to be to get full charging power? Is it the same as the pre-refresh Taycan or more closer to the refresh Taycan battery temperatures?
Kyle, congratulations for the ultra detailed reviews on the new Macan, since the first video. Watched all. The best I've seen. Would really appreciate your opnion comparing Macan 4 vs XC40 P8 since you enjoyed the car back there on the launch. Worth an upgrade from Volvo -> Porsche?
Would love to daily drive this. Am soo exited for the 718 electric.
I have seen 20 Macan EV reviews, but this is definitely the best!
I’m hoping the Audi SQ6 e-tron is going to end up being much less expensive but offer 90% of the driving experience of the Macan.
Is the Macan in the walkaround Oak Green or (my guess) Adventurine Green? In either event that's a pretty handsome color.
Damn the room in the back row of R2 now just seems so crazy!
Any idea if this new ALK system will be updated on the 24 Cayenne? What you showed here looked significantly more locked in.
Great review. Deciding between this and a Lotus Eletre, both of which will be state-side in the late summer/fall. Hmmmm.
love the interview with the chief engineer, always refreshing and clarifying to hear them talk.
How would you compare regen braking to your Audi E Tron in its highest setting?
I like the range, I like the looks, I like the tech. I'll wait until it comes to us with native NACS.
Great video Kyle keep up with great work 😊.
Porsche Macan will be big seller for them
Braking is in fact something you can fix - larger brakes and good tyres. Where weight is almost impossible to hide is cornering, as the only thing you rely on there is tyres.
Price makes it a no go for most. Let’s see if it depreciates like the Taycan
No one pedal driving on the Taycan was questionable at best (at least as an option). On this mom SUV, it’s idiotic.
Thanks for the great video as usual Kyle! How would you say the new Macan 4 compares to the Cayenne e-Hybrid? Torn between the two.
I have the Cayenne E-Hybrid now and an Macan GTS before. Just ordered the Macan Turbo. I never really wanted the Cayenne, just had it because the Macan was delayed so much. Certainly the Cayenne is a nice Abrams. But I am more the Bradley type. Both fit a 4 headcount family, but the Macan is still sort of sporty. The Cayenne isnˋt.
Love the vid as I do all of Kyle’s vids. I haven’t watched the walkthrough yet but I noticed on here u said heads up display if you option it. But if it’s around 100k why doesn’t it come standard?
Because Porsche..
Porsche doesn't want to give people anything they don't really want so you have to option everything. they could make it basic, but this would increase the base price for everybody
Great video ❤
Is this new macan quieter than an Ix ? 🤔
Nice video BTW 👍👍😁
Hi Kyle, do you think there's a sizeable difference between the new Macan and the Q6? Same platform, but the Audi is like 65% price of the Macan...
Obviously priced too high for the average consumer, but Porsche has a home run here, Even if dollar per dollar a Tesla specs better.
I'm not the type of person who opts for a higher center of gravity without the tradeoff of off-road chops, but the Porsche engineers made an excellent vehicle for ppl into this kind of thing.
No one pedal driving isn't as big of a loss as people think. Especially for the clientele that this Macan is looking to pull. I drive a Model 3 and an ICE SUV. In the Tesla, I one pedal drive, but have no issue using the brakes in the ICE. However, it SHOULD be an option in the settings for this Macan for those that want to do so.
Porsche knows what its like to slow a car with downshifting. One pedal driving is that and its intuitive. What does this thing self crash into oblivion when you take your foot off the pedal?
@@gnoxycat probably will regen to a lower speed, but not completely stop. My previous car was a hybrid and it would slow down to recharge the battery.
I am the exact person you mention that has a Model Y and is looking to upgrade but the lack on one-pedal driving is giving me serious pause. Even when I experienced the Taycan, I just could not get behind it fully. I don't understand why they will not even give their consumers the option. I hate companies that brazenly make decision for you and take away your choice/options.
Like Tesla? ;-) I mean there are very few customizations available on their cars
Love Kyle and Out Of Spec. But sometimes, man, the setup takes so long. This video was a “first time to drive, I’ve already introduced the vehicle to you in two previous videos, this video is specifically to introduce the Macan EV as a driver”…. First driving doesn’t come until 13 minutes in.
Play at 2x speed
@@ultrastoat3298easy to skip ahead too. There are chapters!
Placed my order two weeks ago. Just texted the dealer to add rear steering to my build. I was told September. Hope Kyle has better info. Would love to be driving it in July.
The first test drive/tech video from Germany said the Macan had no heat scavanging, but this says it has. Did they change that?
Connor which EV has the best massage seats? Lucid Air, EQS or something else not on my radar ?
How much improve give the times sport chrono on Macan 4?
Love my macan ICE. This review helped ensure buying a Tesla model Y is the best move for my 2nd EV considering style, technology, range, capabilities and of course, cost effectiveness 🎉
Love Porsche 👍
I have an aversion against SUV´s - but damn is it good designed.......great car. I would take it! Porsche shows that it is possible to design a car to its stabile and full function, not delivering a still green banana to their customers, everything works like it should. The car companies also expect us to pay the full price agreed on in the first place.
Curious on your thoughts on how this drives compared to the Polestar 3
Yup you fit at the back set but after few minutes…let me get out of here I’m choking!…😅😅😅
Did the fisherman catch anything?
Out of Spec Dave better put out a viral video cause Out of Spec Mom wants a Macan now
Kyle must have a least 2 identical twins, I don’t see how else he makes so many videos and podcasts. Looking forward to his mother’s review of the Macan when she buys one. : )
Nothing that complicated, he just uses a combination of teleporting and time-travel machines.
@@martyndavies1482 Good to know. I was also thinking it could be a “Multiplicity” situation combining clones with lots of sweatshirts.
I’ve been looking at the Macane Turbo against the Lotus Eletre base model. They have about the same power and a fairly similar price range. I used the configurator for both and got $122K for Macane and $135K for Eletre. I’d like to see a detailed comparison of the two, as I think they are natural competitors.
Hey Kyle. I’ve got a Macan 4 Allocation and should see it in October. I didn’t get the HUD. Almost everything else - super $$. I could change my order and get the HUD. What do think, is it worth it? The other question I would have is the wiper. I hate the look of the wiper on the new Macan but it is so useful in my current Ice Macan. Yours thoughts?
I would get rid of it. the ICE macan has less slope I think and also the spoiler on top which helps stay dirt on the glass, the EV is more like a sedan in this regard and you don't see many sedans with wipers now do you? these are my thoughts anyway I don't have any real life comparisons but I rarely use a rear wiper if I have one anyway it's just one more thing to take care of (change the wiper blades now and then, cleaning )
Question: will the release of macan ev have NACS? I know it was a question posed I think during Kyle's test drive... but wasn't 100% confirmed... Do we know yet for North America?
For the key, I like that far better than the key for the Taycan! The button on top, the front trunk release, gets hit sometimes when I get in the car and the key is in my pocket by the steering wheel. Maybe it's just my problem with the Taycan, as getting into the Macan is very different, but living with this car for over 3 years, that has happened to me many times. And since you cant just hit a button to close the frunk, you have to get back out and close it. Very annoying. Should I hit the lock car button on that new remote, I can simply reach in my pocket and hit unlock to undo it, tho likely hitting the lock button with the door open, wouldnt cause anything to happen. So good on Porsche for changing it up!
Model Y owner here, I’d love to upgrade into a Macan 4, but you are right, no one-pedal drive is a deal breaker. Most of my driving is in the city and it’s a pain to have to use two pedals over modulating a single one
😱 the horror of having to use a brake pedal..😱
Although it can sound like an excuse so not to say "out of price range", I can understand the convenience factor. You don't want to go back.
@@thejake8099 just another unnecessary extra inconvenience. Of course people don't want that
He didn't say "no one-pedal drive is a dealbreaker."
Have you tried fsd?
What do you think macan ev vs EQE?
06:00 that's because the buttons correspond to where the button is on the car-shaped key. Logically it makes sense. The real issue, however, is in 2024 no key should have more than one button, since the car knows you have the key with you it should know where you are standing in relation to the car and what your objective is, and most things work with gestures anyway.
Many cars get stolen because of this comfort access, as cloning the code is easier.
When I was configuring Macan EV with my Prsche dealer, he advised me not to get comfort access. I was already not keen on this, so I agreed.
I bet US models get the blinking brake light set up. Am I right?
I wonder if the dimensions match up with the Vinfast vf8.
Kyle in France !!
What colour is this thing? Stunning
Looks like Aventurine Green? Is that right, Kyle?
Great video, but please keep the Mic quality consistent on all your videos.
Interested in whether you'd choice the R1S or Macan 4 (non-turbo) as a daily commuter. I think the R1 is the better adventurer but the Macan is probably the better highway choice.
Macan is way better for highway. better ride, less noise, less consumption
Kyle....previous testing you did showed InnoDrive to be a fail. Are you now saying that InnoDrive is so improved you would opt for it OR does that decision warrant a retest to confirm?
So you can "drift" with it? Does that require disabling driver assistance?
you probably need to deactivate PSM to really drift, sport plus will give you the feeling without the worry
The back seats are way smaller than the Tesla Y But the price is bloody higher.
Yes yes yes... Excited to going to see! 😁
Kyle, I was told that the Macan splits the pack in two when charging on 400v chargers such as V3 Superchargers. I know you haven't done the charging test yet, but would haven't to know if that's correct? And if so, what is it's top charging speeds on 400v chargers? I'm sure you're not going to test that on your test anyway, so I was wondering if you had asked them.
that's true it's because of the 800V system they have to deal with chargers that operate on 400V and they didn't use the usual converter but "virtually split" the 800V battery in "two" 400V batteries. Charging speed will be the same
I believe it’s 175kW max
@@jomiwaja Wow. Hope you're right. That's even better than the original Taycan's 150kw on-board charger package you had to pay extra for. And it even has the port on the rear left.
Which manufacturers of cheaper EV's would take notice. Even at the Macan's high price it adds to their sales. Imagine just how many extra sales cheaper EV's will have with things like these that cost basically nothing to have -- the port on the correct side (front passenger or driver's rear) for the ubiquitous V3's and having it's 800v pack split in two for 400v charging. Thanks for the info.
Hold my yacht, I need to make a Porsche review.
Oh wow! At first glance I thought it was the Model Y! Lol!
Is there much difference between Macan Ev and Taycan EV Kyle ? What car should you choose ?
what color is it?? aventurine green??
it’s awesome paint color
Ya it’s darker than I thought. Went to the dealer to see the sample. It’s really like a dark grey with green undertones
Did you run into Matt Watson? Was this trip before purchasing the Beast? Could have made him jealous.
"If you can keep it around $120,000 to $130,000 it's worth that" LOL.. It may be, but not many bill be able to afford one. The previous ICE version was $50,000 less expensive.
I have been cautiously optimistic for the Macan EV. I am a person that typically despises SUVs because of how soft they are (I can only tolerate the ICE Macan and Cayenne with the suspension in Sport Plus), but hearing Kyle talk about the suspension, I am very curious to drive one myself.
Thank You Everybody for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste
🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤ 🕊
Turbo badge on the rear of the Porche EV?? Ahhh... perhaps it's a hybrid? Back to the vid.
I want this car, it is just expensive for me, and no one petal driving. I love one petal driving in my model 3 RWD. My favorite option
The VW ID4's kick down overrides the max speed in ECO mode. I wonder if it does the same here.
yes you can override it easily at least in the Taycan range mode I was not aware of any limiting
Not my thing , would rather see out of spec review evs that are for the masses, Ford Explorer EV ,Range tests , Blazer, Equinx, Fisker, VinFast , Kia andev line ips, the Honda Prologe ,Buick Electra,Dodge Charger, Canoo lifestyl van , etc.. yes the Porche is fantastic for the 1% percenters
This thing looks cool.
Your expressions on AR HUD would have been nice.
put your dog in the back seat on a yoga mat with beach towel on top of mat. Dogs love being close to you while driving.
So, is it rear engine air-cooled? lol
Macan 4 listed for $98k locally. Taycan zone
