The concluding 3 words that Premier inexplicably cut from the conclusion are: "Buy a crossover."
Speak for yourself about the over 100mph bit, I’m always over 100 on the highway and it would annoy me greatly to have something that dies above that
@@SilentRacer911 Lol
@@SilentRacer911 lucky american bastards I almost got my license suspended going fucking 90mph in a 65
@@Anouyz Yes, Americans are very lucky for not being able to get half of the cool performance/enthusiast cars/trims ever made because, "...unfortunately, will not be available/sold in America". -P.S., What is an "estate car"? 🤨
@@colnagog6026 My understanding is that in England it's a station wagon or SUV. 'Estate' being a landowner with acres of land and needs a vehicle to haul stuff.
"When ponies decided to become horses" haha how does Zak come up with these
Zach has gotten so much better at reviews. Respect.
Have been a fan for a long time, but over recent years have mostly skipped over the reviews as the one-take formula got stale and the new produced style needed a work. Zack has nailed this, best review I have seen on this channel in many years.
Whoa, thanks! Check out some of our recent comparison stuff too!
@@TheSmokingTire I have, I at least start watching every video on this channel and honestly, this has a freshness that kept me glued that the rest haven't had, it felt energised where the others have felt like going through the motions.
Zack! Your delivery was on point, smooth, and easy to follow. Thanks for putting in all the hours to bring such a comprehensive (and interesting!) review to us.
Oh the new benchmark EV SUV arrived for people who like cars....well. Shout out to Zak: excellent writing and delivery!
I appreciate showing us the Citroën Ami at 16:56, Zack.
You're welcome.
They nailed this inside and out. Looks amazing
I believe your dragon impression was from the guitar hero episode of South Park, spot on 👌🏽 😆
You almost got me! Haha
"MACANTA" is hilarious and a perfect way to describe the T. Thanks for giving that bit of information in terms of breaking down how your money could be spent on these applications.
You know, I'm really loving Zack's solo reviews, even if I couldn't care less about a CUV I'll never afford. Hell yeah
Excellent analysis and commentary. I love that the test drive takes first priority and comes BEFORE the interior/infotainment overview.👍
US market sales of this EV Macan will be the key on whether Porsche have to update the ICE Macan or end production of the ICE variant.
considering the average development cycle of a Porsche is 6ish years the decision has likely already been made
about an ICE Macan in 2 generations however...
@@TheImperfectGuy yes they’ve carried on with the same ICE Macan for now, but if EV Macan sales aren’t as high as expected then they will likely do a minor refresh with updated dash etc.
I’ll be very surprised if these sell well for long, sure it will sell decent at first though then tank.
Smart ass....
What do you know....hmmm??!
I think this is one of the key cars for the transition to EV, in that it will show demand for traditional luxury buyers to move to EV for their daily driver SUVs. Good review, and I like the last 30 seconds of your thoughts on the vehicle at the end. I think it adds context to the review.
Unless Porsche makes a deal with Tesla for the use of it's charging network, none of these EV's will last longer than their initial lease.
Cyber security laws? What does that have to do with a gasoline engine?
With so many cars being computers on wheels with steer by wire, throttle by wire and brake by wire with self driving capabilities, wouldn't you want it to be safe from cyber attacks?
In that case why would there be a difference in the cybersecurity between the vehicles? They're all ran by computers and it shouldn't have anything to do with what the fuel is
@@joshuaenyart5570 it doesn't have to do with the fuel, they could make a petrol car meet these regulations, but they'd have to redesign most of the car from the ground up which would be prohibitively expensive. They decided that they might as well build a platform that could be used for the foreseeable future. Not saying I agree with the decision, but that's the reasoning behind it.
The headline is, Cybersecurity law forces Porsche to kill gas powered Macan in Europe. Did you catch that? They showed the headline. If we still get the gas powered version I don't think it would be "prohibitively expensive for them to also get it
They need to be able to drive the car away without a driver in it. The old 718 and Macan will not let you do that, even when hacked.
Can you please make a video of the Macan 4
Loved them all, can't wait for my test drive
Had to rewind and play again...did Zack just say that "When ponies decided to turn into horses!" LMFAO!! Good one, mate!
Great review. Similar vibes as 296 review by Zack that also helped transition back to this format. Keep it up !
Nice work Zak, great review!
Maybe the new Smoking Tire Nodus should be a Destro... you and Zach both wearing them on the right hand or is it the other hand.
Never understood Porsche not implementing one pedal driving on their EVs - it's great, slows down a bit like a stick shift lifting in 3rd gear, and super relaxing in the city. The lack of it is annoying, efficiency or not it should be an option.
@@frok7744no. They want their EVs to drive like their petrol cars. Proper performance cars don't have one pedal driving because the driver is expected to use the brakes. I believe their sister car the Audi Q6 Etron will have one pedal driving so Porsche could definitely implement it if they wanted to.
If you buy a car from germans, and the germans tell you they are doing something for efficiency. Gooooood LUCK getting them to change that lol
That's that Herron Dragon from South Park, bruh
Solid review, these seem like they’ll be at every country club once they hit.
Zach this was one of your best!
Great video Zack! Not sure if its just me but the last second or 2 has no audio. Just an FYI on a great video.
Same here, what was his final sentence!? Haha
Bravo, Zack! 👌🏼
That blue must be the best blue ever made! :O
Great video Zach, many good points were made
Great video Zack!
I hope this video does well. Amazing job by Zack. Really great review.
In cockney: “Over the moon, I ain’t ‘avin’ a butcher’s at the pride of lions, and that’s no porky pies!”
That my son, was f'in tragic. That isnt how you use those phrases. Must be Americans upvoting that rubbish.
Im not going to tell you how to use them though, more fun to watch you lot fail miserably at it :D
That is absolutely tragic mate. Typical clueless american. That aint how you use any of those attempts at the right phrases 🤣🤣
You dont ever ever say ''and thats not porky pies''. Youd just say ''i aint telling porkys''.
You dont ever say ''aint avin a butchers''. Youd say 'nah had a butchers at it already'' or just ''nah seen it mate'' or whatever.
Fail 🤣🤣
What? What's that mean?
@@TheSmokingTire If you allowed my comment through you'd see he's doing some American doing some horrible attempt at cockney rhyming slang and failing miserably.
Zach you were in the pocket for this video, was a great watch.
Would love to see you guys review the new Tesla model 3 performance
Amazing review Zack!
This is an excellent video; it is super informative, fun to listen to, and has great videography -and more accolades to you Zach. Love your enthusiasm for a superb quality Porsche. TU.
Outstanding review
Nice watch
13:40 its the Heroin Hero dragon from South Park you're thinking of haha. Great review!
Zack's the best haha
Nice Vid Zach! But... I did not hear what the range is on the two models? That's the deal bearer always for me.
I cant afford one of these today.... but man i would love to get one 5-10 years old in the future when I need a replacement
I wouldn’t be buying a 10 yr old electric car unless Porsche can prove they’ve taken a giant leap forward here with their tech.
Only if I can get a new battery. That's the thing about these electric cats. I wonder how long they're going to support them. Or will they be like an old 80486 computer. It still works, but you sure in the hell can't get any parts for it now.
@@pherron7471You can almost guarantee you will not be able to buy an OEM battery. Technology keeps changing and they will not support the old tech in the future. Only hope will be the aftermarket. And then you’re at the mercy of potentially shady businesses making lithium batteries. No fire hazard there.
@@neilturner6749 I wouldn't buy an electric car...ever.
Matt and Zak are like Snoop and Dre wit this shit 💯
Best to ever do it 🫡
Heck! Initially I thought you were in Marina Del Rey, but then you drop, "South of France!" I need to recalibrate now.
Your Nodos is poppin!
I had to look up BB Racing 2 when I saw your apps. Looks fun 😂
Great video Zack, France looks lovely this time of year from what I can see. So far seemingly the electric car market resale value is extremely low. I assume people are scared of battery life and reliability. When do you think that can or will change? And do you recommend leasing over purchase at this point due to value dropping on every fully electric car on the market. This is more of an issue the more expensive the car purchase is since you have the most to loose. That’s an expensive cross over. Cheers mate.
This Is a beatiful suv!!!
Nice job Zack!
What a sharp car!
Great work Z
Looking awesome
Awesome review. Looking forward to see how this sells. Also last word you said didn't come through in the audio..after, if you want their money....
Looks like a giant beetle, regressing to the mean Porsche?
Electric is just better 🤘
I think alot of drivers may prefer not having the 1 pedal drive, but like you said having the option would be nice.
I think after the horrendous taycan depreciation, people are going to be quite wary of an electric macan
Who filmed Zack on this one? I like it. Great review
As a Taycan owner, I can attest the lack of shroud over the instrument cluster screen has NEVER been an issue with sun glare no matter what angle the sunlight is coming into the cabin. I don't understand how Porsche did it, but somehow they did
So which would you pick? The ioniq 5n or macan turbo?
it’s insane that there’s no one-pedal driving in comfort mode, congratulations Porsche, you’ve denied your customers the best part of driving an EV in town
Want to know if you hear/feel the suspension "shudder" in normal mode setting or one of the stiffer settings? Also, would like to know if this is the case on 20inch in normal setting on the M4
I have the passenger display in my Taycan. It basically keeps the passenger from leaning over in my peripheral vision and it’s less distracting for the driver when the passenger fumbles simple requests. Much less annoying when they press random buttons looking for Spotify in front of them instead of just by the steering wheel.
If it didn't feel too big going through gridlocked Grasse or the center of Cannes, it'll do just fine in sales I think
Fuckin love when Zack does reviews.
Your wordsmithing most excellent as usual Zack! I’m all in favour of an EV as a daily/family wagon but this just has a nice interior and bit of badge kudos - question is whether that’s worth it over some other premium EV with a nice interior. The handling dynamics are largely irrelevant in a daily imho. If ever the need for a second fun car was extant then it’s now. I’ll keep my ‘06 Boxster for driving pleasure, badge kudos and buy something cheaper than this Macan for my daily…
Great writing Zac.
Disagree on the Cayenne point. You get the Macan when you want something smaller and far lighter that also has a PDK and holds its value better.
My wife and I have a $128K Macan that's not even PTS. We chose the Macan over a Cayenne intentionally. Not because we couldn't afford it. A lot of that decision was on Matt's recommendation.
Can we get some matts foxbody merch? Maybe incorporate that sweet interior colored stuff.
I like this car but how much is it $ and how much availability will exist in the USA?
Is this on the same platform as the Audi q6?
yes
I believe they will sell a lot of these.
Considering how well the Taycan sold I absolutely agree with you, and that was a sedan.
Good looking car.
Great to see EV’s evolve and get better from different manufacturers. I will be sticking with Tesla. Especially after the new FSD update to version 12. The car drives me to work without any issues and I enjoy my coffee on the way. It then drives me home in heavy traffic with a lot less stress. 3.5 to 60 is good enough for a commuter car. And the sound system is amazing. Low maintenance and service at my house when needed. So glad I am off of expensive gas.
I really want to see a 3-way comparo between this, the Polestar 4 Performance and the IONIQ 5 N, these 3 brands seem to be the only ones giving a shit with having their electric cars be fun and enjoyable to drive, not just fast in a straight line.
The ending of the video cuts off mid-sentence?
I thought R1S was WAY bigger, and perhaps the best off-road car on sale, going by the R1T? Way cheaper too?
"If you needed a do-everything vehicle that didn't make the sportscar driving enthusiast part of me feel like it died inside"
This is exactly why I bought my Cayenne. If I didn't want to be able to tow my sports car to the track the Macan would have been the correct answer.
Reminds me of the SmokingTire reviews from back in the day!
South park reference 😂👍🏽👍🏽
The thing is....does any 3.x second to 60 EV feel any different to the others?
…yes?
@@AidanRitchie but does it? I’ve driven most of them. I’m only talking about acceleration
@@ruk2023-- well, then I don't get the question. A 3 second 0-60 is a 3 second 0-60 in any car, not just evs.
@@AidanRitchie What I mean is that let's say you have 3 ICE cars that get to 60 in 4 seconds. They will all have a different character doing it but every EV that gets to 60 in 4 seconds has the same instant torque and thrust. It wasn't really meant to being analysed this much and doesn't stand up well to scrutiny.
@@ruk2023-- speed has ceased to matter. That's why the makers are really going for chassis now
Savage geese could learn something from your excellent deadpan humor
Audio died right after you said “but if you want their money”, I saw lips moving but no audio
Same for me @thesmokingtire
Just caught that. The export cut of 9 seconds despite the sequence being selected properly. Thanks, Adobe.
🧑🏾💻I'm here for Zack, to the Max!
Let Matt thrash it around the canyons. When he did the Taycan, he used something like 60% of the battery in 17 minutes, so under half an hour's range while driving enthusiastically. I would expect a Porka to be driven enthusiastically, but when I go for a joyride I expect more than half an hour out of my range before I have to plug in while ice-ages come & go. ICE cars may go through their tank just as fast, but you can refill an ICE in about 2 minutes & you're back in the playground.
Zack's right, you can enjoy it. BRIEFLY.
Wouldn't be surprised of the sales tank like the Taycan.
@TheSmokingTire Nice video but what about the comments below???
The porn bots are in the market for a new EV
It's a very weird, new trend of porn bots being super complimentary. - Zack
@@TheSmokingTire bro what happened to the ending, cut a few seconds early? or late?
@@GoPotato69 No idea. Project sequence is fine and normal. Export fuckup. Awesome.
@@TheSmokingTire rip, ill forever miss it
now i just hope Matt-anna still go with the Ioniq 5 N
Will this car be more reliable and have less maintainence due to it being an ev?
What watch is that?
Nodus Canyon, it was a limited run TST special.
Video sound oddly cut out for the last 2 seconds or so. For the finishing speech.
Technology first used by ponies lol. Not even 30 seconds in and you know this is something you're going to watch while partaking in your morning meal ritual.

Nodus Canyon in Mint,
@@Anouyz thanks
"If you want their money?"....i need to know the answer Zack!
The lease prices will tell you how Porsche thinks these will do.
They are always high over here no matter what - they want you to buy one.
2:20 Darn those “cybersecurity” laws
I would appreciate it if they could build a 912 ish car. Same battery longer range less output I could probably live with 300 hp and 300 torque. Oh and make it about 60 K to start. Wouldn’t they sell? I would be very interested
Give me a fuel sipping, detuned 4 cyl Macan over this any day of the week.
I'm sure if it's designed well, an EV can be fun for auto enthusiasts. My problem, in Canada, after taking on that mountain pass, there's no place to recharge the thing. Like the Mach-e Rally, what off-road destination has chargers waiting for you at the end? You can bet you'll probably find a gas station within the range of your ICE vehicle. So, sure, fun can be engineered into an EV; but for a lot of places, the fun doesn't last as long as an ICE vehicle, which will probably be cheaper too. Try as you might to sell it, you're still living in a world that's not ready to buy it.
You ruin the flow of your videos when you insert ads so thoughtlessly. Your cinematography and narrative is great!! I know ads are needed but it doesnt have to be like this
And I’m sure you’ll see people going off road in these in Moab … it’s a $100k mall cruiser .
4:07 threecyle on his way
