Anything that symbolizes positivity for you and you wanna bring blessing of good fortune, well being and positivity with it, this symbol will be used!

Facts
The Japanese name for the symbol is Manji , yes the main character is walking around with his name on his back.
In India it is swastika
It's crazy to fimally see a big CZcamsr talking about this manga, it's SO good but for some reason SO unpopular at the same time
It _might_ have something to do with the big swastika on the main guys back, unfortunately.
Funny enough I was enjoying the sequel even more, it takes place 90 years after during the Bakkumatsu period.
Unfortunately there are no more translated chapters. I hope it gets more recognition and we get the english release since it's ending this month with 10 volumes total.

Ah, great to see some love for Blade of the Immortal. I read it a few years ago and it has stuck with me since, one of the best manga I have read. Glad to see a big channel shining more light on it. Now if only there was a faithful anime adaptation.
I love Blade of the Immortal and I'm glad that you're talking about it because this series definitely needs it. Gotta thank you for also addressing the comparisons with other seinens, especially Vagabond, because I've never understood why they were made in the first place.
P.S : "Big Balls" was still a good fit for a character like Manji.
If you really think about it, Blade of the immortal is the simp version of Vagabond

Gotta put this in my read list since you're the reason I read akumetsu and Holland which both helped kick off my love of manga
This was one of my first mangas I read when I started getting into reading more than watching anime and it is still one of my favorites and doesn't get enough recognition or people talking about it. I also believe it shows off many different martial arts well and shows how unique they can be as well as different weapons. Also props for showing how useful a sickle and chain is.
Please make more philosophical videos on life lessons you’ve learned from manga, those are the best. Vagabond videos are top tier, much love 💙

Glad to see somebody finally talk about this Manga. There are hardly any videos about this series on CZcams. The series also has one of the most underrated antagonists. Plus the 2019 adaptation isnt really all that bad.

I throughly enjoyed the anime for this series so much and just decided to try it out based on the look of the main characters so many characters along the journey were so great I was genuinely surprised not many people talk about it

Is that confirmed? Now that you mention it the art in Naruto's early chapters is extremely reminiscent of BOTI's art style
@@idk-vr3fs Back In the old days this was common lore haha! Look it up. There’s a picture of art where Kishimoto drew BOTI characters and you can see where the design for Itachi was inspired.
Samura and Kishi even have an interview, you know the way a younger mangaka is excited to talk to his idol? It was just like that! Samura drew the Naruto characters as well!
@@Jay_SGE I just read the interview and everything makes sense now lol, Iruka's design being inspired by Manji, Kakashi's by Magatsu, and Anotsu looks almost exactly like Itachi in that drawing Kishimoto did, I also just now realized that Sasuke and Itachi's whole dynamic and theme of revenge is inspired by Rin and Anotsu, there's probably many other parallels but it's quite interesting to see nonetheless, ty for the info

The GOAT ,Lone Wolf and Cub is great but it’s great in a different way from blade of the immortal ,Lone Wolf and Cub is way more historically accurate for obv reasons ,one is grounded and the other is not ,you get what I mean

I read this manga immediately after catching up with Berserk back in the day. Spectrum Nexus recommended it. I just wanted another manga with a similar art style. Boy was a pleasantly surprised at how much more I got from this series.
Blade of the Immortal was one of the first manga I fell in love with, and it took me forever to eventually finish. Now I’ve read through it 2-3 times. Always a great read.
Can you check Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal, it's such a hidden gem, and considering the popularity of Kingdom, I think many people would love it if they knew about it
damn i remember when i was like 12 and bought the first volume of blade of the immortal was instantly hooked got all the copies in my collection absolutely one of my favorites
I read this one last year and it is now one of my favorites
I had a friend who was trying to get into manga and the first two series I told him about were this and Akumetsu: two weeks later he told me he can't ask me for recommendations anymore because he binged thru both of them and hadn't gone to class in that entire time lmao

Such a great story, starts off a bit weird but picks up as it goes and doesn't stop, with the climax being one of my favorites in manga
Also, if you're a fan of Sekiro, Miyazaki is also known to be a fan of BotI, and it's interesting to read and spot potential inspirations as you go -- same with Dark Souls/Berserk, etc

I thought blade of immortal was a sung manga. The noise is relatively quiet but I used to hear about it a bit.
I feel like the manga Golden Kamuy has many similar elements to it as Blade of the Immortal. You should give it a try, you’ll definitely see what Im talking about

I’ve been reading blade of the immortal for 7 days. I’m on chapter 142…. Absolutely amazing manga. I think in the beginning it’s a bit boring (the first 3-5 chapters), but overtime it gets better and better. Amazing underrated manga

I've seen the newer adaptation of this manga. It's "GOOD" it jus has a bit of an issue in the fact that it doesn't have enough eps to cover the ENTIRE manga so it truncates a bunch but it's still enjoyable in its own right & the production & directin is incredibly solid the entire way through. If it had more eps it'd be "great" but I'd still say watch it

Do you ever talk about webtoons? If you ever want to I think Ordeal by Brent Bristol would be a great place to start, just finished its second season and the art, which was already some of the best on WEBTOON imo, keeps getting better. Has quite possibly the most diverse cast of characters I’ve ever seen in a manga or manhwa and the worldbuilding and plot is fantastic as well. I just wish more people would find out about it so we could get an anime. Definitely deserves one
I think closest this manga stands for is to stories of author of Basilisk or The Ninja Scroll
Keep in mind that only the american version of Blade (the only one you can find scans for online) is read left to right, almost everywhere else it's right to left

Has anyone watched either anime adaptation? Given the amount of episodes i feel the anime rushes or probably skips big chunks of the manga
There is another story that has a compelling cast of characters, where the characters get into a bigger conflict than what they intended to get into, and also deals with themes of morality. It's called Mistborn. Give it a shot Masked :)

The swastik not only has a religious significance in Japan but in India as well. In Japan it's called the Manji. In India it's the swastik. Buddha himself was a hindu king before becoming a monk and has many deep connections to Hinduism as well. His name was Siddharth Gautam.
