Thank you! Nice to see someone with actual hooded eyes, explaining out of experience! I wil try This out.
I have never seen such a fully comprehensive tutorial on how to do hooded eyes so well, even down to the use of waterproof mascara, I've never thought of that even though it's been a constant problem with transference! Can't wait to use ALL of your tips and techniques. Thanks for the upload.
Okay, your skin is FABULOUS! I respect you so much in so many ways. Take care my friend.
I have never seen the second technique. I like both eyes. Great tips.
Thanks Jill ! Just found you- learning -during lock down! Never too old to learn in ur 50s-
I think I’ll try this today , you do wonderful simple eyelooks, amazing!!! Tfs xo
Wow! I plan to try both methods! Thank you!
Very helpful and I’m going to give it a try. I bought a gorgeous new palette but now have to learn how to use it. :)
Very pretty look, Jill.... thanks for all of the great tips, i really enjoy watching your videos, very relaxing....thanks again! 💕
Thanks so much for tuning in, Sandra!
Wow! Awesome Jill! Thank you!! I’ll be doing both of these , this week!! Beautiful!!!💓
Hi Kim! Hope it goes well....have fun! ;)
Thank you for this tutorial🌻💕
I’m starting to work on myself again and your video is exactly I’m looking for.
So much detailed information. Thank you from a new subscriber 😉
Texgal I’m thrilled you found it helpful! Also.... good for you! I hope you find others you enjoy and find helpful. 😃
Thanks for this demonstration nice look
Hi Jill, You are an excellent instructor. I so agree with curling your lashes and waterproof mascara. I have not tried the Better than Sex. I need to. I use L’Oréal. Thanks again for all your hard work. 😍
Awesome tips!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰
Long time viewer here - thank you so much for all of your videos! You are so beautiful, Jill!
Aww....thank you so much! You are very kind. Hugs~
This is great! I will keep this in mind for when my mom asks me to do make up on her!
Great video! I also really like your blush placement - it's fresh. Thanks.
Thank you, Nicole! :)
I found your video very helpful thankyou 😊
Loved this. I have quite a bit of creping , but I think that pushing the shadow on will help with coverage. Thanks for the wonderful video.
Great video! This is very helpful. I have an additional problem, my one eye doesn’t open as wide as the other and I don’t want people thinking I’m winking at them! I learned from somebody who commented on my question on another CZcams Video site and now line the mobile lid and tight line the larger eye with brown or black. I then line the outside of the smaller eye only from about the middle of my lid to the corner. I smudge under the eye and tight line with white and also use white under the mobile lid. It’s amazing how well this works.
Karen Cassidy Makeup is pretty powerful! That’s awesome!
Thanks, Jill! I' ll be practicing these looks! I have very hooded lids to the point where I can't see the crease when I'm looking straight into the mirror. Looks beautiful!
I hope you find some of these tips helpful! Keep me posted. ;) Have fun experimenting!
Oh my gosh. Thank you. I always have problems with blending. Thank you again.
I'm tickled you found this helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for this! You and I have very similar eye shape and space. Very helpful!
I am happy you watched, and that you found it helpful! :)
Great video Jill I'll definitely be trying these methods! My mouth and lips area tends to downturn a little too 🤐 I know lots of ladies have the same problem 🎭
Hi Clara! Thank you! Very glad you watched! ;) That's such a great idea for a video! My mouth does as well...very common w/ aging...dang it! :(
The video @Clara suggested would help a lot! Thx for asking for it.
I want to try this . . I think I might even draw the little line to practice!! ;o)
Thanks for sharing! Great tips, your make always looks so beautiful!
Great tutorial Jill! I have hooded eyes and have reached the point where I think only surgery will work! By the way, try the Hard Candy eye primer from Walmart...my favorite! I've tried that one as well but prefer the Hard Candy one and it's cheap! xoxo
I have bedroom eyes. I always look tired.Cant wait to try this!
Thank you Jill, fabulous video..oh my I so tried the second or straight look and it's a winner winner chicken dinner.!!** I can't really use the Dr cherry color but am getting braver about warm browns . Love the tight line and it's a game changer ..even though I can NOT wear mascara it really opened up the eye and makes a world of difference. Hope your doing great . Hugs🙋♀️🙌
Hi Terri! So wonderful to see a comment from ya! ;) YAY!! SO happy you tried...and you are successful! That's awesome! Hope you are doing well yourself! HUGS!!
Let me tell you what...i have watched a LOTTTTTTT of "makeup gurus" on youtube, and I didn't think i was going to learn anything from this video ;) ... but I did!! The second method you used, is honestly something I've never tried, so I will be doing that very soon. Thanks so much for the great tutorial. Also, if you haven't tried it, my favorite waterproof mascara is Cover Girl's Clump Crusher. It's affordable and very long-lasting. I have hooded eyes and VERY oily lids, yet this mascara never disappoints. Give it a whirl, if you're looking for a drustore alternative! :)
Just found you on you tube love your videos.
I see that you did put the soft Shadow pencil in your water line and tight line. This is a great video for my type of eyes and I think I’m going to try that tomorrow! Thanks so much…
Excellent as always. Maybe you will do a video for products to do eyebrows and products for tight lining and waterline safely and properly. 💜💜
Really enjoyed this tutorial! The techniques really work. I love the two-faced eye shadow primer and have used it for years. I play golf and it keeps my shadow looking fresh even during a round of golf in hot weather. However, now that I'm over 70 (yikes!) I find that it's too drying on my crepey eyelids. I need something that works as well, but is creamier. Would love to know if you've found anything for older eyelids. Thanks so much. I've now subscribed to your channel.
Great video Jill. My eyes are hooded and downturned. I'm anxious to try your suggestions when I apply my makeup tomorrow morning. I'll be using the Chocolate Bar palette.
So glad you enjoyed it! Hope it goes well tomorrow....have fun experimenting! ;)
Very nice...I wanted to see the eye liner and brow too... I am collecting tips for my wedding look. 🤗🌹
Suzy Woozy I couldn’t fit it in... would have been way too long for this one. 😉. I do show that in many others, though! Thanks for watching , and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
OMG Jill ... you are so brave. I have the dreaded "crepey" (Spelling) eye. Every primer I use seems to make it work. Maybe I will try the one you use???
Did you put the eyebrow pencil on your lower waterline? I know you mentioned tight lining on your upper lid, but I wasn’t sure what you did with the lower lid in terms of that? Thank you! Great video!
Thanks for this video Jill! Some great tips for dealing with those pesky hoods; very well explained as always.👌
Hi Jill, I enjoyed your video. What blush are you wearing? I love it! Thank you, Julie
Having Lupus affects my eyes in particular When I am flaring My hoods almost cover my whole eye but when my face is not puffy and swollen up I see my lids better so my shawdow pops more🥰🥰🥰😊love this tutorial😍
You're a life saver. I have watched other videos for "aging" eye issues, and you did a wonderful job explaining your techniques. Thank you so much.
Well explained and very helpful. Love watching your technique. The outcome are excellent. Thanks for sharing, Jill. 🤗😘
Thank you, Rita! I am so happy you enjoyed it AND very happy you tuned in. ;)
Love this! Sadly, my eyelashes are actually too short to curl.
Wonderful just what I need thanks and by the way I'm 84 ♥️
Best demonstration ever for hooded eyes!! Thank You so much! Tomorrow morning I will try it!
Thank you so much, Gail! I hope you have fun experimenting, and hope some of these tips are helpful!
not just two options :) makeup creativity is endless especially when you have Hooded eyes like I do :) talking from an experience of 15 years of using makeup :)
Verbs describe us I just showed two options in this video. As stated there are many others! I couldn’t possibly demonstrate all of my ideas for hooded eyes in this one video. 😉
New to your channel. You are an exceptional instructor. Your explanations and illustrations are thorough yet to the point. Many use these techniques but your approach is so easy to follow. I tend to do look #1 but am going to work on look #2. What do you think of using tape at the outer corner to help guide the application and minimize clean up due to fall out? Thank you!
You just made my night...thank you! I am SO thrilled you found this helpful! I appreciate you watching AND for posting this wonderful comment. ;) Have a lovely weekend!
What a great intructor you are, Jill! Thank u!
What a great compliment! Thank you!
Another great instructional video Jill! I'll be giving both looks a try....you did a great job explaining things!
Thank you, Jackie Sue! Have fun experimenting!
Hi. I have a little bit downturned eyes and they are hooded. But the crease goes below the outer corner so i have no space for eyeliner. Any fix for this? I have quite large round eyes.
I need your advice. I have metastatic breast cancer and will be needing a wig or a topper I'm not sure which one yet. My question is how do I measure for a wig and topper and who has the best options and comfort?
Spectacular!!!!!!! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love the tinted primers. I turned 45 last month and I swear it seems like overnight my eyes have become even more hooded than they had been and my lids seem to show more of the veins than they did a few months ago.
The best eye tutorial s on you tube ..easy explaining. No messing. ... excellent results thankyou 🌺🥀🌹🏵️💮🌸💐
Wow...well, thank you very much! I appreciate you watching, and for taking the time to post this very kind post. Thank you!
I enjoyed watching and learning your techniques for my hooded eyes. Eyeshadow has always been my biggest challenge! I really feel like I will be able to recreate this. Thank you for creating these looks 😘😁
I hope you have fun experimenting! Thanks so much for watching, Debbie!
I have seen so many tutorials over the dome technique and never understood it until now. New to your channel and love it!
Good video , very helpful 😊👍🏼
You are so cute and sweet! Thanks for making this!
Another great tutorial! I learn something with each one!
Thank you! I am so happy you find these helpful! Thanks so much for watching. HUGS!
Great tutorial Jill. Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching today, Monika!
Thank you. This was very helpful!
I am so happy you found it helpful, Michelle! Thanks for watching! ;)
Thank you. Love both looks. As I have gotten older my hood especially on my right eye has become very puffy looking. The difference in my left and right eye are very noticeable. I am going to give the second eye look a try. Will tell you if it made a notable difference. Thanks Again. I am loving these things we tutorials.
This was super helpful!
Great video! I watch all of ur wig and hair reviews but now I’m starting on ur makeup tutorials. Do you have a video specifically on eyebrows? I looked through ur videos but there’s so many. I find it hard to do my brows without getting them too dark or weird looking lol. Please help! I mostly use products that can be bought at target or Walmart so what do u recommend? Gel, powder?
Hi Mandy! Yes, I do have one...I need to update it, as I am finding I am using more products these days because my brows are getting more and more sparse, and need more help. ugh. BUT..I use to use JUST a matte dark brown eye shadow. Here is the link to that video: czcams.com/video/fQE-bFJDZq0/video.html
Awesome. I watched ur video. I also use an eyeshadow for this, I feel that buying a brow powder is a waste when I can use matte eyeshadow for same thing lol. I found this great little razor tool by ardell at Walmart that is not like the bigger longer eyebrow shapers but teeny tiny with about 4 sharp little razors within and it cleans up the extra hairs so well! Very precise. Inexpensive too, and I’m all about a bargain 🤗 The only thing that makes me feel strange about brow work is when I fill them in with a line, they seem too dark-no matter what color I use. Maybe just bc I have to get use to seeing it on my face just like wigs😂thank you. Great tips! Will you show some eyeshadow techniques with different types of brushes and maybe choosing some drugstore brands that u might like?
Great video u explain it so well going to definitely try this thankyou
Hi there, Joanne! I am so glad you enjoyed this, and let me know how it goes!
Thanks for a great video! I have been using the Too Faced eye primer you showed and it burns my eyelids. Doesn’t last long but it is a little uncomfortable. Any ideas on other pigmented eye primers that maybe more suitable for sensitive eyelids?
Oh no! That's awful! A great tinted eye lid primer is Stay don't Stray by Benefit!
Jill Lynn Beauty Therapy, Thank you! I will try that! Love your makeup how-tos!
Hi Jill, I love your videos but do you have a link to all the products you use?
Rosemary Leo they are down in the description box below this video. 😉
Good video n very helpful!
Thank you! Very helpful!
Gorgeous look! Where do you find that Make up Geek eyeshadow?
Hi Jackie! Thank you for reminding me to put that in the description box! You can get it at www.makeupgeek.com
;) It's one of my favorites!
@@JillLynnBeautyTherapy It's always sold out...dang
Do you know anywhere else? It is sold out on website
This was the best tutorial for hooded eyes I have seen. Thank you!
I want you at my house when I try to do my eye makeup!! You make it look so easy! Great tutorial and, and both beautiful looks! I'm in late 60's now, and that crepey skin, in the corners especially, give me so much grief when I apply any lightening powder, even primer. ~Mavis~
Wouldn't that be fun? ;) Crepey tissue is hard for sure to deal with... I think less is more as we age, and matte shadows work best. I try to keep my shimmers and sparkles to the lids. (I love those so much) haha! I also think using an excellent eye cream helps a LOT before makeup application. Nothing heavy....something that absorbs yet keeps the tissue supple. The Rhonda Allison 3 in 1 Peptide Eye Cream is my absolute favorite...it is pricey, but lasts forever. www.jilllynnbeautytherapy.com/item/ra-peptide-n-eye-cream
Great video but lining the lower waterline all the way to the inner corner appears to make your eyes look much smaller than they really are. Try lining the outer third of the lower lid instead and see if that doesn’t still give you the lift you want without causing the overall eye to appear to shrink.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I watched it a few times, totally enjoyed. xoxo roseingeorgia author of A Mothers Love by Bettyrose Woody
Hi Jill am excited to see you have done a make up chat for hooded eyes... will be glued to this later x
I hope you find it helpful, Susan!
@@JillLynnBeautyTherapy Oh I know I will because I've enjoyed your other makeup tutorials! Take care 😊
Okay, I tried it and I just can never seem to get eye makeup right. It looks like it's smeared all over my eyelid and it doesn't look as streamlined as yours.
You should have more subscribers! I’m going to have to binge watch yr past ones. This video is soooo helpful. I do the upwards version one already after trial and error, but it never has been quite right-something needed tweaking. I think yr video will enable me to do it right. Thank you 💐
PLUME 1 aww...thank you so much! You are very sweet and am thrilled you enjoyed this and found it helpful! You made my day! Hope you continue to find content fun and helpful to you here! WELCOME!
Jill Lynn Beauty Therapy You are welcome! Thank you so much. I’m glad if I made your day!
Your data is amazingly useful.
Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
Great tutorial, definitely gonna try these two looks out... as my eyes are getting very hooded these days... I love shima shima too, but have you tried 'voltage' also from backup Geek, it's a gorgeous colour I use like shima shima.... it's a bit of a pale soft yellow and blends like a dream... Great work !
Hi Carol! I have not tried voltage.....I am so curious now! ;) Have Fun experimenting and let me know how it goes!
Thank you from a droopy eyed girl!
I hope you found it helpful! ;)
My issue has been my lips are thinking and it’s hard to figure out how to make them look fuller as I do not ever want fillers. Only due to pain 😉
Love your eyes. I'll be practicing some off your tips in the next day or two. I have an off this topic question. Do you know anything about the quality of gabor wigs? Thanks Jill, another informative video. You are such an inspiration.
Hi Jo! Have fun practicing! ;) Yes, I have tried Gabor wigs....they are great quality! I just have problems finding a color I like in the line. I find I tend not to like their rooting (colors). ;)
I learned a lot today. I have dowturned hooded eyes
I am so happy you did! Thank you for watching! :)
Wonderful eyeshadow look..... You are lucky to not have much "hooding" to your eyes even as you age. I am in my 60s and have much more hooded eyes than you have. I do appreciate your wonderful tips though. Beautiful results.
DOH! Second video where u DIDN'T SHOW WATER LINE application. Not sure where to put it or which brand so my eyes won't water... Was so hoping to see you apply it... 😔
My eyebrows are way down just over my eye socket!
Excellent video! Thanks
Please ,all the brushes
Hi Rossana! Oh...thanks for reminding me! ;) I'll put them in the description box.
