ENGLAND !
England, which has not been able to achieve the international success it wanted since the 1966 world cup, wants to change this trend with Euro 1984. But first they have to get out of the qualifying groups. According to football autoroti, there is the favorite of the group, but there is Denmark, the rising country of European football, Hungary with its deep-rooted football school and Greece, which participated in the last European championship Euro 80. There may be surprises. Have a good time :) - Sport
That 0-0 home draw to greece was disastrous for us
That referee of England x Danmark was disastrous for Danmark 😂
Totally agree that it was the Greece home game that ultimately cost England a place the the ‘84 euros. Englands goal diff was vastly superior to Denmark’s, having said that Denmark were good for their money in the finals.
Losing three points in the home games against Greece and Denmark was deadly.
@@frankwells7520also Denmark's late equaliser in the 1st game also cost us.
Just one extra point in either Denmark game or the home game against Greece would've put us through.
This is my all time favorite England jersey
I have this jersey with Glen Hoddle #10.
Actually they are not entitled to have something blue
That Danish side were AWESOME in the 1980s . Micheal Laudrup ONE of the all time Greats . Well done yesterday in the Euro's . Get well soon and quick Mr Eriksson .
Laudrup was nowhere near one of the all time greats. What I would call a misfit - a talented attacking midfield player who was afraid to go too near the opposition goal.
What are you talking about. They were s team of part timers back then
@@paulchristopher8634The Danish FA introduced professionalism in the late 70s, so your hideously off the mark with your "part timers" comment about Denmark.
Denmark deservedly beat us at Wembley, and IMO, whoever compiled this video is guilty of piss poor video production, showing so little of the Danes creativity that night.
England have always had the individual players, but what they haven't had is a smart and competent manager and a TEAM ethic.
And sometimes horrible goalkeepers
Bobby was pretty good manager.
Those years, qualify, was very very hard. The big guys compete each others
Erm…Terry Venables?
Well done, Denmark!
World cup 1982 line up pic from Czechoslovakia game. I'm such an anorak
Yup. Mick Mills was the skipper in that photo
@@PHDiaz-vv7yo he wasn't afterwards?
@@amina-pr8xt Mick Mills was captain for the last three 1982 World Cup games after the Czechoslovakia match, then never played for England again.
@@TREVORALLMAN thx
@@amina-pr8xt A pleasure.
👍 I love classic football
Did Shilton ever get close to saving a penalty?
he'd just fall over slowly. Every time.
No
Don't think he ever did. I know that Clemence never say a penalty in his professional career. At we used to think that Goalkeeper was an area of strength.
Actually this was a good England side but there appeared to be little consistency in selection.
No.
@@myroseaccount Clemence saved a penalty for Liverpool in the UEFA Cup final 1st leg against Borussia Moenchengladbach in 1973.
We need a modern take on that shirt even i would pay for that expensive that they are at moment
Two bad results, six good ones, but that's the way it goes
Luther missett as he was called after this game as I remember lol.
AC Milan parted ways with him with no regrets, let's put it this way.
I remember him in Milan. They chose him after Joe Jordan. He was sent back to England after only one year
I love England foot ball
Who cares

You do, sweetheart: you posted a comment.

Allan Hanson playing for Denmark
That 0-0 v Greece at home. Costly.
blissett and regis shouldve played more for england....
Worst hat trick - Ever
true, but back in those days BLACK players for England was rare.....
Remember being gutted as a kid after that loss at home to Denmark.
preben larsen...scudetto col verona ....storico !!!!
Can anyone explain how on earth that was a pen in the second game v Denmark?
I've a fetish for retro footy.
Everything about it. Except for the football.
Jesper Olsen promised so much at Man United but often flattered to deceive
England were unlucky that close 1-0 defeat to Denmark cost us.
Hardly. If the referee was any use England would have lost very heavily home and away to Denmark. England got away with murder in both games
@@gerardjames9971 When? Must have missed that.
Did shilton ever save a peno😂😂
Yes. Ironically he saved one for England from a German (Brehme). Alas it was only a friendly tournament game in Mexico in 1985 and not in a competitive fixture
Russell Osman?? God help us!🤪
Yeah but I bet England won the battle on the terraces ;-)
It's funny because 80s football was f***ing horrible! :-D
Yeah, either teams took the roofs off their own stadiums so spectators could see their teams best passes, or the hooligans torn down the roofs anyway.
The only reason why we failed to qualify is why Bobby Robaon persisted in senrding on Luther Blissett in the forward position.
We had Mark Hateley, Clive Allen, Gary Lineker; Gary Shaw, Tony Morley, Gordon Cowans; John Barnes.
NO WAY! ONLY LITHER BLISDETT!
HOW STUPID!
Mind this team beat Brazil in Rio 2-0 .......without Blissett.
Larry long term italian massive fan of England fron Italy
