I wish Paul would have asked the tougher questions - such as how many times David has been to St. Louis.
I'm a sorry person. I appologize, but when grown men wear bow ties, I want to punch them in the face. Please Dr. Freud, why is it? My humble upbringings in the south? I have two minor degrees, above average intelligence, but think grown men are assholes who wear bow ties. Seems pretentious. Also, am a trained killer USN/USMC. I actually think about ceasing their bodily functions.
I love David Cross, being a Jew who grew up in Oklahoma City ok. His work is great! Plus, we have the same male pattern baldness.
@@jeffreypaul734 i mean, bowties arent that bad, but they are very situational. Proms and weddings come to mind.
I dunno buddy. Just relax I guess. Anyone who has the confidence to wear a bow tie knows it looks silly. Just an eyecatch for when you're a comedian in a formal situation. Fedoras are much worse. Bow ties on the other hand only carry the connotation that you're either Bill Nye or a clown. So while Bill Nye might seem pretentious for wearing one in the context of being an intellectual, it's still a costume for TV. Though, I'm pretty sure his costume has become his persona. In this case however, Paul is a clown. He's a goofy dude in a manly man setting and the bow tie seems to be perfect for this specific situation.
Bail hearings, PTA meetings, any night-time subway lurking, If you are Tucker Carlson. It's not just Proms and Weddings!
Paul F Tompkins is somewhat underrated. Dude is pretty god damn entertaining.
Right? Reason I love watching these interviews
He's the greatest showman on Earth.
Boy, that Funke is some sort of something.
david cross and his cool glasses, looking like a graphic design teacher
now you mention it, he does look like my graphic design teacher
Jessica Woodhouse i'm saying
Mr. Show was way ahead of its time, that's why it feels so recent.
Aww. "I love you more than I hate LA." That's so sweet.
I could watch these two all day long.
Still cracking up about the St Louis bit
He's been there eight times apparently.
I think it was seven times.
4:57 mfw
When Paul has history with a guest, it goes amazingly. So entertaining and funny.
David Cross is among a handful of the funniest comedians ever. The end.
Mitchell Hughes
Each person has their best comedian ever so there are billions of best comedians ever and that number continues to grow
You're so edgy, EW-sSmooth, you never laughed at Seinfeld, wow. What a rebel.
Problem is he is Tobias Fünke. That's the reason why I keep comin back to his persona, but I have to admit that I refused to accept his unfunnyness outside of Arrested Development.
David Cross trying to reignite the old east coast-west coast feud. Haven't we lost enough comedians to those old beefs, David?!
and Many Ventriloquist. R.I.P. Wally P. Doyle
***** lol I Blame "Champion" The Drinker.
Jack Power we need some ribbons for the Young People
That's right, let's save it for the ventriloquists
mochoshakakhan Damn, it was already said, lol
2:02 Despite the high production value, no one bothered to tell David Cross his collar is caught on his sweater.
Tobias and Mr. Peanutbutter, what is this, a crossover episode?!!😂
Oh David...YOU BLOWHARD !!
Does anyone know how many times David Cross has been to St. Louis? I have a paper due...
I didn't hear at all throughout the video, sssooo... My guess is 7-9 times. Maybe somewhere in between. I don't know.
I absolutely love this series! Keep them coming. Thanks.
It's...Fünke
+Dodge City Meltdown Right? Butchered introduction right off the bat. LOL
KidCooties ee
I think David Cross could be a potentially brilliant director in the future. My prediction.
Legendary.
6 years later, and ... ?
Every time I see a David Cross interview he just exudes this aura of anti-producer/anti-establishment, I love it. He seems to care only about the creative process. We need more people like that, not people just mass-produced gobble.
Except Alvin & The Chipmunks, Curious George and M&M commercials.
He’s a sellout.
Eh. He's on record as knowing some of that stuff is garbage but dude's gotta pay rent and fund the other stuff. I mean, there is the old hollywoo cliche of "one for them, one for you".
@@beedub9312 shutup
love the straight faced jokes they kept throwing at each other funny funny funny stuff
These are really flattering camera angles.
My Mom always talks about how the early SNL skits were so hilarious and specifically the one Cross talks about with the razor with too man blades.
"I have been to st. louis 8 times". LOL
Haha. It's always better when Paul knows the guest. This is like a comedy writing clinic!
David Cross is so awesome in this.
Great interview as always.
He seems to be a so much deeper person than all of his roles combined. Love him.
David Cross, thanks for taking the time to speak to us all. I respectfully disagree with your evaluation of the West Coast based on LA/Venice, visit San Francisco sometime! I completely agree with you about London however, especially High Holborn at Lincoln Inn Fields; tremendous walk between the Rosewood Hotel and the River Thames at Westminster.
So brilliant. I (and probably Paul F. Tompkins) would love to see more of Paul F Tompkins.
Oh the wit! "Feckless! You don't hear that everyday. Glad I wore a tie" hahahaha
They have a really great rapport. Two incredibly hilarious men that are both very underrated.
I'd love to see Cross, Odenkirk, Tompkins, and Matt Walsh work together in an improv setting.
Oh Paul F. Tompkins, how I miss this show! 8/16/2019
This is gold. Some of the best on-camera chemistry of this generation
Paul is a fantastic host!
I'm afraid I just blue myself.
Has he been to St. Louis?
8 times I believe
I must have missed that.
Allen Ginsberg's one of the best comedians around! Even though he's seen the greatest minds of his generation destroyed by madness...
+Angel La Canfora very first thing i thought
Does anyone else think David Cross would be perfect to play Terence McKenna in a biopic?
Yes I agree
PDXVoiceTeacher ...unfortunately Jim Carey is slated to portray McKenna in a new biopic coming soon..there are trailers already..knowing Carey and how deep he is in the Hollywood bullshit production it's bound to be a propaganda piece..
Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY HARD BOILED EGGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"We're Earthlings, let's blow up Earth things! We're Earthlings, let's blow up Earth things!"
MR. SHOW was sublime comedy.
"Cause that is a big mistake." lol Cross is too funny
3:47 "smoked weed constantly" *constantly* is the key word here.
I wish for the success of any and all Mr. Showers.
These are fantastic interviews.
I love the chemistry of their back-and-forth. Damn, I miss this show with PFT!
Love this interview. Fan of you both.
All I could see was David's lower teeth jousting with Paul's gap.
haaaah
that legit made me laugh hard
I agree with David's city tastes. Also, as someone who lives in California now "good weather" is overrated.
David Cross is both funny and deep, the one actor I would wanna meet. He's so down to Earth and honest, without being to revealing or transparent. I always thought he should be much more famous, but I feel it conflicts with who he is, he sees what's wrong with society these days too, some people with either see it and call it out or most just ride the current, I say call out the world on its bs.
Great stuff!!!
Chicken-pot, chicken-pot, chicken-pot-pie!
Finally! I thought I was alone in the pot pie department. Whenever I sing that people just stare at me. Then I have to explain it and they still stare at me, then I'm all it was funny ! Forget it! Never mind!
I'd rather have shards of glass rubbed in my eyes than live in London.
Paul's reaction at 3:54 got me good!
Well done. I'm looking forward to seeing Hits.
Oh my god I love both of these two
The St. Louis bit is gold, holy cow
So, the cameramen had a case of the "sways."
+ChromaticTempest Homie is 2 robot cams.
+Franco Cooper Homie was joking.
Paul F. Thompkins is in a league of his own. He may share the mantle of alternative comedy Don with David Cross And Patton Oswalt, but he is his own category..
I have never seen a comic that made me laugh more or less than David Cross.
These are Great :)
Just amazing!
NO WE CAN’T! THIS IS LIVE, DAVID
I'm glad the camera angles switched.
“I’m being sponsored by the word feckless” lmfaoo
10:17 thats a hell of a pour
Is the audio in this interview different from the other ones?
What is the song that plays in the beginning, during the intro?
Well I've been to St. Louis 9 times so...
I've never been...I didn't know I had so much catching up to do.
wonderful
Hey, what's up hot dog?
Does anybody know the song in the beginning [0:05-0:30] and at the end [19:45-20:07]??
Bring back Mr.Show!
Spring, Texas makes every place mentioned sound like New York.
The Dutch are the real culprits for Big Brother
***** Real World predates Burnett.
I've seen some of David Cross' stand-up that I found funny.
Also, chill.
***** are you the mayor of Los Angeles or something
We Need a new box set for the anniversary. I own all the DVDs but be nice to have Season 4 bloopers and some nice extras.
Paul F. Tompkins is pretty funny too. I didn't even know who he was until I started hearing him on Sirius XM.
whats the song in the beginning of the video?
I think its an instrumental version of Spooky by the Classics IV.
"Working on Two and a Half-Man."
What show is he talking about here ?
10:35
My fav david cross movie was by far "run ronnie run" just cracks me up every time. If you've never watched it, i suggest you find it and watch it.
Imagining David cross in Boston is hilarious
what is your twitter?
"you need all those cracks and pops and shit......." -Mr. Show
I think I have actually heard Cross talk about how much he LOVED monty python bc they had cheap sets but it didn't matter bc the comedy was so good, so convincing. Dont pull a Lucas and go back and edit. Mr Show is fucking perfect the way it is.
There is history everywhere David.
lol! "This is live"
19:02 ghost voice.
Hits!!
St. Louis!
There is a reason you haven't heard of "Hits"
Tobias Foonk
What is this, a crossover episode?
Fyoon-kay
i miss this :(
Changing my name to Feckless T Williker.
his reaction when David says he doesn't like human poo is priceless
love david. so funny. i often disagree with him but it doesnt matter because hes so clever and funny.
Reunited.
The sketch David is referring to about Jay Johnston massaging a baby was the end of the "mom and pop charity(Dream of a Lifetime), sketch" where Bob speaks from jail about how they modified their business from granting spectacular wishes, like meeting Shaq. "Now we just ask the kids...hey, what's something that you wouldn't mind doing?" So what Paul is saying, that it was a string of products that were too absurd to be believed, is incorrect.
Gee, I really have to visit the original Blockbusters!
Can someone please make a new drink and name it Hess Christmas Truck. That would make my day.
He lives on the Westside of LA? Well, that's your problem right there.
It's Fuuun-kay!!
Heres some real shit. David Cross is the man.
