bill's face after drinking at 00:28
You know they're drinking water with a lime right?
+Mark Winiars yeah it's just that bills face looked funny
Hahaha, I had to go back and look, totally missed it but glad you said something. That was great, it's like was he expecting alcohol and just got water and lemon or vise versa. Lol.
I was so happy i knew the presentor from the Tenacious D movie, i tottaly missed that 😂
Does anyone else find Bill insanely attractive?
yes! makes me crazy.
AlbieStarr his hot
Yessssssssss
I counter... does anyone else find PFT insanely attractive?
AlbieStarr ✋🏽✋🏽✋🏽
Bill Hader is the funniest man in show business and he doesnt even acknowledge it
He seems like a good dude.
it's probably why the south park dudes love him
Bill doesn't even have to act or try, just talks. Natural talent
so soft spoken , yet some of his characters are so booming and deep
My god the interviewer is so good. Watched a dozen of these now and every single time, he is CLEARLY deeply engaged, he asks relevant questions, and he cuts HIMSELF off to let the other person talk every single time. Props all around.
He’s actually an actor too. (Although I can’t remember what his name is oops) but he plays Mr Peanutbutter on Bojack Horseman
One of the few interviews out there that actually is a conversation! The host is really good at this!
exactly. he doesn't interrupt, he doesn't ask stupid questions, he lets the conversation flow
Paul F Tompkins is a pro
Paul F Tompkins is beyond a pro. He is a fucking national treasure
yeah and I imagine Bill Hader is easy to talk with
of course! he's been in the business for a long, long time and there's no live audience beyond the cast that they have to worry about entertaining. they get to talk in earnest about something they BOTH care about deeply and have BOTH dealt with for years and years. it makes me want to see more interviews with "[Career Professional] interviews [Career Professional]," be it comedy or otherwise. What would two [whatever profession] people talk about REGARDING said profession if given the opportunity? I NEED THIS MAKE THIS A CHANNEL
Right off the bat, Bill lurches with his first sip. I don't think he was expecting what was in his glass to taste like what it tasted like.
7:44 he's doing that door banging like it's nothing i mean not breaking news but he's so good
And now, he's Emmy - winning, Best Actor in Comedy Bill Hader. BARRY is so amazing.
There's nothing better than a humble man who also happens to be absurdly good at what he does. Amen, Bill. Amen. And I'll leave my scolding of Paul for another comment.... that guy. Also great. Ok byeeee.
i'm baffled that his explanation of how he got into performing is literally the plot of Barry.
Elle J. Winsett ...write what you know.
Why baffled? His own experiences obviously inspired him as a writer.
One of the best SNL cast members of all time. For being a nervous wreck for the first four seasons you couldnt tell
Bill Hader is so adorable!
Nicole Luna he's a cutie
Wow! What a great story about how he got into SNL and how he struggles with nerves. I've heard Kristen Wiig gets really nervous when performing as well. There's just something about Bill Hader.. I just love 'im!
Love Bill Hader. He is just perfect.
He's the second SNL cast member to be nominated for an Emmy. Eddie Murphy was the first.
Geoffrey Zoref He's the First to be nominated twice.
now Kate McKinnon!
Actually, Chevy Chase was the first and Gilda Radner was the first to win an Emmy.
Yeah no there’s been numerous SNL cast members to be nominated for emmys
They meant in their batch
Terrific interview. Paul F. Tompkins is a wonderful interviewer. He really allows the guest to remain the focus. Well done!
I've never seen this guy - Paul F. Tompkins - before, or even heard of him; but I thought the same thing. He seems like a very nice guy, and does allow his guest to be the focus of the conversation; so unlike the Conan O'Brien or Craig Ferguson types, who push so constantly for laughs that it makes you weary . TV needs more guys like this host. It's refreshing to see an interviewer act like a gentleman, with a little class, intelligence, and good breeding for a change.
Also, Ferguson was actually a genius at getting his guests to loosen up and reveal more of themselves than they would with someone who really stuck to their scripted interview. He was high energy, but you can tell that most of the guests actually would get super relaxed on his show.
But I agree that Paul Tompkins is also a great interviewer.
0:30 Bill’s face as he takes a sip!?! 😂😂😂😂
Kinda wish he was still on SNL. He said in another interview he didn't really want to leave SNL necessarily he and his wife wanted a backyard and a sorta more suburban life for his kids or whatever. I just hope he continues to be successful!
Sad that they're divorced now
Six years later, and he's more successful than ever. If you haven't watched "Barry", do so!! One of the best shows on television.
@@mariannecontrino6297 yeah I still miss him on SNL tho. He’s by far my favorite cast member of all time. That era of SNL was also beyond stacked with talent.
Paul you are a great interviewer. You're thoughtful and smart. And Bill is genuine and hilarious.
I didn't think it was possible, but I love Bill Hader even more after this.
He's so damn grounded. As well as insanely hilarious.
I think Paul is the most charismatic person on the face of the earth, while i'm sitting here and i get anxiety just ordering my own food.
+Jade Lim put down the bong son
+Jade Lim Really, Put down the bong. Stop smoking weed, it will change you for the better. I know from experience
For me, weed made me content with mediocrity. My first year of college I was getting blazed 5+ days a week, not meeting any new people, not getting laid or even talking to girls for that matter. I was also getting poor grades. I was depressed and I thought weed was making it better, but then when I stopped smoking I realized that weed was making it worse. It's different for everyone though, just do what feels right for you.
good herb can enhance a variety of experiences, but getting high for the sake of escape can be a slippery slope. But this world is already in big, big trouble (and few see it) so burn, just as long as you continue to learn.
+Jade Lim I don't smoke weed
I nearly cry every time I watch Bill Hader's last SNL episode as a cast member.
I respect Bill's honesty.
And now he has tons of Emmy nominations and 2 wins for leading role ❤️ 10:50
I know the experience described at 2:23 aalll too well. The more niche something is, the more it seems to define you. And at the same time the more niche something is, the less likely it is that people will enjoy it.
You find niches because you want to, and you're actively seeking it out, and so it ends up meaning a lot more to you and a lot less to other people.
wow i never knew he was so nervous in snl it doesn't really show he was so great in everything especially as stefon! lol
Always good to see Phil Hartman get a mention. Underrated.
Kabz I think about Phil several times a year. Miss that guy.
Hardly underrated. Generally viewed as the top player in SNL history.
I'm so impressed with both the interviewer and the interviewee in this video. Great job Mr. Tompkins!
Awww I want to give him a hug when he said he used to be scared and have panic attacks. He's an amazing underrated talent and I hope that now he has confidence in himself. =)
I like Bill Hader. That's all. Just needed to be said.
Nice to see that there's another Hader-lover (lol) in P-town!
I was really surprised to hear him say how terrifying he found the live improv - it really helps to know that someone feels this way, not just me
I miss this little interview show so much! I just rewatched a few of them recently, and the chemistry that Paul F. Tompkins has with his guests is so good. Wish they’d bring it back!
tompkins should be the only person permitted to do interviews in all forms of media, he's perfect
jed Tomczat imagine if him and Sean Evans had a baby...
So true about being funniest in the lunch room. Haha.
FrshChees91 It's wonderful because I think most people can totally relate with that.
Bill Hader should be in more... things!
I have to say, the photography decisions in these videos are really great. The bokeh, the gentle camera movement. Really nice!
Bill Hader is lovely
Never going to forget him dancing to Don't Trust the Police dressed as an officer on Superbad.
Officer Slater!
Bill is the cutest when he wears glasses
My favorite part about these interviews is that Paul has to tell every guest not to look into his camera.
I really hope Bill goes on to do big things. I feel like some of the greatest SNL alums aren't seen much anymore, but I have faith in Bill!
You were right to hope!
Case and point: Barry
Hello from the future. You got what you wanted.
#Barry #HBOBarry #HBO_Barry
No one was LOLing that day in GRENADA...
Some people were saying OMG
@@dimitravasileiadou9771 and me...i was saying T-T-Y-L to my innocence
wow. such an insightful interview. maybe I'll start watching this guy.
This is inspiring.
Frick, Netflix... give Paul F. Tompkins a talk show. If it is THIS, I would watch it hard.
I think Paul is my favourite interviewer.
I became a fan after Bill and Kristen Wiig did that skit where Al Pacino checks his bank balance over the phone with Wells Fargo. He was GREAT! And even more so when he and Amy Poehler did that "I Drink Your Milkshake" skit based on the movie "There Will Be Blood." You're so awesome Bill!!!
He is so.... loveable
hahaha "cmon man, we're gonna have fun out there"
Loved this video! I am glad to see Bill's response to stage fright. I love his movies and SNL skits. He is absolutely hilarious!
Bill Hader and Jemaine Clement could be brothers separated at birth
And good gravy aren't they both adorable.
I literally just left this same statement on another thread above that's talking about his looks lol And I've only fully realized it the last few days from randomly watching some old interviews like this.
Rainn Wilson too
It's encouraging to hear him recount his experiences breaking into the showbiz industry. I consider myself to be a hopeful...behind the camera as a writer, though. I'm not confident as self-assured as Bill Hader is. I admire the courage it takes to show yourself on national tv and the just the big screen in general
Oh my god!!!!! 2 of my favorite people in the whole world...but I'm in love with the tall one. ❤
I love that when Hader mentions "Hollywood" and his Emmy nominations, he does the same impersonation that he did at James Francos roast.
This was great, I never quite understood the "The Californians" skit, having it explained was nice :-D
terrific interview. You invoked a lot of revealing ideas and it was very honest. I am now totally into Bill Hader.
Thank you for doing this interview. You did a great job being both laid back yet totally engaged with Bill Hader, and Bill Hader is a dream come true, in terms of his naturalness and humor. You should be interviewing people on prime time television.
too good. on so many levels
god, he *really* looked like Rainn Wilson at the beginning! I actually thought it was going to be an impersonation lol
Nailed it w/" funeral party". Lol💙
Wow, this is a fantastic show. No stupid questions, interviewer doesn't try to steal the spotlight and acts natural, classy setting. Awesome.
Bill, you are awesome - your Hollywood personification was absolutely incredible!
Bill Hader reminds me of Michael Shannon. The sound almost identical. If they do a Man of Steel spoof movie, he should play General Zod.
they sound nothing alike
I love this! It’s a wonderful interview! Thank you so much!
it took me, like, 3 days to fall in love with Bill Hader. I’m not complaining
I am in love with bills honesty
Good interview. It started out kind of slow but eventually found its groove.
I love this man. In my top ten best ever cast members.
His 'New Yorker' at 13:00 is great
Don’t know how I missed this! What a great interview with one of the funniest men on tv and film!
He looks sooo good(HOT) with glasses😍😍😍😍
Please keep making these guys they are excellent. I honestly look forward to them
mrs hader is a very lucky woman
Kate VD I kno rt I agree
Kate VD I don't know how to put this...
They're divorced as of 2018
why does he look SO fucking young here oh my god I'm in love with him
MONTY PYTHON. YES.
Another great interview. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for posting this. I love watching Bill Hader, he's so dang funny
Holy his New York accent is so good😂
I love Bill so much. I'm really gonna miss him.
This interviewer is so dope, so funny omg this channel has the best interviews for real
Bill Hader is one of my favourite comedians. Yay! So glad that this video is a thing! Woo!
I just now noticed how underrated an actor Bill Hader is after seeing Barry.
Lived in So Cal my whole life, and the Californians is so ridiculously accurate. Love it!
I love Bill Hader. He's great.
Best speakeasy
Bill Hader is a very humble & good soul
His voices are amazing
Does anybody else now feel cool to wear a Rush t-shirt & quote Monty Python? 😂
Thank you, Django, for interviewing Bill. Two legends meet!
I love these! Keep it up PFT
absolutely love bill hader great comedian
Was always a fan of Bill, even before I knew his name. Great interview.
love this series!
Great stuff, Bill consistently makes me laugh.
So happy it's back!!! Lets not have to wait a month again shall we!
Speakeasy is back! Awesome.
