AI generation aside, the icing on that donut is skeletal
For those that are looking to loose weight :'D
Hahaha I said this. I'd be kicking off if I got that from Krispy Kreme's.
if you want to do the pixel effect in blender shader, just use a voronoi with the random at 0 as vector for the image (and uv vector from texture coordinate for the voronoi) and play with the scale button
Looks amazing mate
Lo This is really impressive workflow. Thank you for your share :)
brilliant, Ive been doing this but your method is leagues smoother
Nice one for this lad, will be using this myself for sure
Thanks for the very good Explanation. It helped me and it works!
Final result looks great!
Thanks, didn't take long at all.
That is some crazy stuff ! Thanks for sharing ! For anyone that has the error out of memory cuda, if you have a 1060/1660, you need to disable half precision in the advanced tab !
Hey thanks for watching! and thanks for tip on a fix people might find this useful!
disable or enable ?
@@veryupstandinguy disable
this tool is gonna be a game changer
For PS1 Esque style, This did a pretty decent job.
Oh this is so useful! Thanks mate!
Thanks a lot for this guide!
actually an amazing tool
Man this is amazing
Thank you :)
Awesome vid man.
Appreciate it!
Sexiest tutorial thanks man! I've been working with Blender since last month and this helped me a lot
I follow your guide step by step but no matter what I do, it keeps generating a new UV map each time I try to generate a texture. From my unwrapped face it generates two separate UV islands. One front and one side. It seems for some reason while generating the image it also re-unwraps the two separate heads as projected UVs. Any tips?
Thank you for the video!
My pleasure! I hope you found it useful
Thank you for this very interesting tutorial, and I hope that there will be more videos like this in the future. Personally, I still struggle to use Dream Texture on very low-poly characters. I'm wondering if there might be a more suitable workflow, perhaps by guiding the diffusion with a simpler texture?
I was just about to ask this. Do we know a workaround for low poly?
I haven't used blender much in a while but was curious about ai+blender. At a guess the ai cares about the depth map being smooth. Maybe try a subdivision modifier when doing the ai gen and then remove it? It won't be at all perfect but it might produce interestingly crappy results
The stable diffusion depth thing doesn't exist anymore or show up in the search.
Edit: Nevermind you have to install it manually which I did. Holy shit it took a long time to get this to work!
I’ve been messing around with this but I can’t manage to get the texture centered, using both a low poly and a high poly face
I can't find "stable-diffusion-2-depth" :(
@Generic877 no I did not lol I'm gonna try thank you
How to fix :(
Hey man thanks for the tutorial, it's really great! I kinda wish it WOULD generate specific prompts since sometimes it's hard getting consistent image references from a real human. By the way how do you do the vertex wobble?
change your Z buffer in the renderer
@@dukemaguswhat?
Absolutely amazing!!! Thanks for the info
Glad you like it, I hope you find some use :)
could you cover how you blend heads from photos? I have a really hard time making the hair look consistent and blending a frontal face view with a side view etc. Any tips how to even out and match the lights on the face like you didn would be awesome. Thanks for the videos!
I will look at making a part 2 with tips on how to get the best textures and best way to fix issues.
Experiment, when i started out i had the same problem but try texturing other things in the style you want try different pixel counts and figure out what works best, best tip i can give you is after youve put texture on the whole mesh youre working on go back in and fine tune it dont be afraid to mess up thats what undo is for. Then color match and use the add brush to slightly ramp up the colors to match what youre trying to get to.
I'd love this too!
When I generate I get a face on front, but also in the back of the head. It's a low poly head. Is it the way I mark seams?
Edit: I added some more details to the model and it seemed to do the job
The style seems like something thatd be found from a late 90s shooter game, its very cool
I agree, kinda like time crisis
i wonder if its possible to make a low poly esque tarkov
That’s awesome.
Thanks for watching!
Hi, can you please share any tutorial for creating retro 3D models in Blender, I have never used blender
How did you get that wavy effect in the rotation animations?
Good tuturial!
Thanks! I'm happy you like it.
Nice Work Flow! Thanks for this Video!
I'm trying to install DreamTextures 0.2.0, a video would be great! I love this technique you use, I didn't know it worked that way.
Ok, got it working. Trying your tutorial. Looks good.
In the old dream texture ,it can only project from camera, but now it can project all faces?
Is there a new name of to that depth?
The wibbly wobbly polygons really sell it. 😍
The wibbly Wobbly does it justice! :D
@@AaronMYoung how did you achieve this effect? or please at least tell how its calling
anyone encounter the issue where only the side face gets generated and then stretched over the front face it refuses to generate both
Thank you
Thanks but I can't get it working ,it says "no model selected", please help !
Wow that's nice topology on the head. You should make a lowpoly head modelling tutorial :D
Modeling tutorials is something I would like to do the problem is there are so many available I wouldn't know if I have anything to add that would make it any better or different :(
@@AaronMYoung From my perspective it feels hard to quantify facial structures . I actually looked at legacy gta games - decompiled models and its some help but sometimes it feels like the triangulation was merged down and I kind of loose the thread ?
Sorry if it makes no sense - obviously it R* but I felt you are channeling something in that vain. I probably just need to pick at it more.
@@yourcommander3412 I totally get what you are saying, Funnily enough my love for game dev started from modding gta games way back... I'm familiar with the type of models you are referring to, A lot of my influence is from the golden age of R* well astatically anyway.
@@AaronMYoung There aren`t really that many for low poly stuff, like the head you did, if you search for it you`ll see most are just heads with no facial features or just blocks
Can you do a paid detailed step by step tutorial on how to model, texture, rig and light PS1 style characters and objects
I don't know about pain however I do intend to make a full tutorial soon enough :)
@@AaronMYoung oh that’s nice to hear! I’ll be impatiently waiting!
It's a bit frustrating, whenever I click Generate it completely wipes the UV's i've setup and changes it to be what looks like a view projection. How are you keeping your original UV unwrap when generating these images?
Make the check on the "bake" Option
I can't find method how to generate only textures on top of object without taking object colors.. Would be nice if someone got ideas. I use Depth, but stable-diffusion still generates whole image as new..
should i pick cuda or the one with the dreamstudio?
is it possible to export those textures to unreal?
I got this message error: "JSONDecodeError('Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0)')" any idea about how to fix it?
I wish it had a img to img feature
Can you show me the geometry of this final effect, bro
in the advanced tab what was your settings?
i dont see that file once i do the initial "install here"
Show in detail how you modified it?
Would it just be faster to set up resolution and texture size of the PS1 set as default, and generate texture in the spects insead of low fi'ing the texture by exporting it.?
It would be quicker yup but you will loose detail, I find it's better to downscale from a high-resolution to maintain as many details as possible :)
@@AaronMYoung lofi graphics works with explicit gaps. Pixel artists don't downgrade their works they set hard ceiling and limits.
I cant get the baking to work properly, when baking the texture it is completely misaligned with my uv maps and i have yet to found out why... Great video anyways!
does this work for full body textures?
Which graphic card are you using? I'm on macbook m1 and its very slow generate texture
It's possible to make full body character texture? I'm strugling whole day without any result
I generally have some doubts about the use of AI but this looks like a healthy and interesting use! Nice
Yeah I agree, Seems that there's an AI tool for everything these days, I'm trying to embrace it :)
That's what they said about the use of fire, and the use of electricity, and trains, and cars, and .... pretty much everything humans invented.
@@deutschlanddeutschland7111 those are pretty bad examples, because those are products used to improve life conditions, while AI is a tool, like, for example, production lines, which, at the end, like AI, it ended being a good thing. The problem is the implementation, because tools can improve working conditions, but also have the potential to leave millions of working people without jobs and without means of surviving, and worsen the life conditions of millions of people. And that’s exactly what a lot of the tools do when implemented only for profit and without taking into consideration how that will affect the lives of people. And that’s what capitalism do.
@@bruselperro458 Would you consider it a good thing to throw rubbish on the floor so that the people who's job it is to clean that up keep their jobs?
@@deutschlanddeutschland7111 That’s a stupid argument. First of all, you will need a lot of people actively throwing rubbish to the floor to force the administration to create new jobs. But even if streets were kept completly clean, workers will still be working as street cleaners do not only work on picking up rubbish, they do more than that.
I don’t know how you don’t see it: people massively loosing their income it’s a bad thing. And it’s already happening: for example, the spanish division of Domestika recently laid off more than 50% of it’s workers to put ChatGPT to do their work. The good way to do it would be integrate progresively the AI in their workflow, so AI would help people work less, faster and enjoy better lives. Instead it’s being used to reduce jobs, pay less those working and enlarge the CEO’s profits.
How long are you hoping for tge game to be once finished?
Love PSX style games and have been waiting for something meatier than 2hrs for once
I aiming for 7 hours hopefully! fingers crossed!
How did you make the noise effect
I am using DT 0.2.0, asked the discord as well... I'm using a cube and it gets one side nicely but the profile is blurred. Any suggestions?
OK, I got it. I UV'd the torus and made 3 copies. One rotated 180 in x and one 90 in z for all sides.
Can you make a tutorial on the color quantizer, please? I tried to follow what you did in the video, but I didn't get anywhere near your results.
I do plan to make more tutorials so I will make sure I cover it when I texture.
@@AaronMYoung Thank you
Hey, just wondering, how di you get that vertex snapping feel to your animations ?
I use my PS1 starter pack that I released for Unreal Engine :)
excellent option! unfortunately the first base model (not the duplicate) remains in black and the second one that is a copy generates texture, I still don't know why it doesn't generate the texture in both. 😢
Oh no, was you able to figure it out ?
@@AaronMYoung Still the same problem, a pity, I can only bake a single object 😓
@@El__ANTI did you try duplicating the vertices in edit mode instead?
the stable diffusion download at the beginning is stuck on 0% for me, is this happening to anyone else?
i was using blender 4.0, it's working on 3.6 for me :)
yes it is also stuck at 0% for me. i am using the latest version of blender
I can't find "stabilityai/stable-diffusion-2-depth". Anyone has the same issue? Tips would be appreciated
i got you homie, i just downloaded a random depth file in the drop down, then when you open the sidebar and scroll all the way down it will give you an error and a direct download for the correct depth file. goodluck!
@@Awakiia Clutch! Thank you man, exactly what I needed 👌
How you make it „wiggle“?
Blender can't install the add-on and when I extract the folder, to manually put it into the addons folder, I get the error 0x0010135: path too long. for some files. Does anyone got a solution to that?
How do you animate the head looking like ps1??
Does Dream Texture generate high resolution texture as well?
It does, it can take longer to generate but it is possible :)
how to install depth now ?
I cannot get it to work in Blender 4.1.1. does this version support dream textures?
hi how can i get this jittering in the modle feel that u have 3:40
wow it's like it's the 90s again but with AI
What is the name of this shaky effect you made at 4:04?
It's known as Vertex Snapping I have an asset pack for UE4 that includes this feature and many others for the PS1 effect.
O, MY, GOD!
Hi! Would you be interested in doing a tutorial on how to properly use the colour quantizer tool to achieve a PSX Look?
I hope to get to that soon!
How did you make such a retro 360 degree rotation animation ? thx:)
you can rotate your object in blender with KeyFrames in animation tab (you also can rotate camera around the object using circle and null object as a target).
Will not work on linux with amd rdna < 2
Just a heads up, if you're running a GTX 1660, you're likely not going to have enough VRAM to run this, and you need to disable half precision as these cards do not work with that.
Thanks for posting this for people who might run into this problem :)
@@AaronMYoung no problem, the half precision thing goes for any image generation as far as I'm concerned, it results in black or green images on these cards
why mine stuck at starting, my cube just turn black and thats it
Perhaps turn of half precision twice, in the plugin and the side bar.
There is a discord for help
When is the next PN devlog?
Very soon :)
Asking the real question!
为什么点击生成后生成的结果是白色纹理
0:56 damn, i cannot find that..there are a lot different but not that..
What Photo Editing Software is that at 3:23?
Adobe Fireworks :)
Well, if a tool helps a creator without replacing them, it's a net good IMO
The amount of RAM higher resolution generations require is unreal, great tool tho
wow
It could look like ps3 graphics if the model is slightly enhanced. It kinda looks blurry but hey could create textures from ps3 games that might help me
it just generates colorful blocks for me
it doesnt work the project dream textures is greyed out
same for me did u find any solutions ?
Its legal to use it commercial?
I think it depends, some ai tools use licensed stuff to generate images I believe, and some have guarantees that they don't. You'll probs have to look it up specifically.
Is there any tutorial on how to get that glitchy effect when the object is moving?
Amazing
Thanks
nice1
How to model texture moving like old games ? that look amazing.
Make more tutorials
I will try :)
what i find funniest is the texture sucked major ass until you ajusted it
You have to see the potential beauty.... sounds weird reading it out loud :'D
ears are messed up
bro sounds like dan tdm 💀
