BMW engine refresh - resealing my friend’s e36 M52 engine - M52B28 M52B25

- After very long abscence I am back with another video. So this is the M52B28 that belongs to my friend. He asked me to change few gaskets on it and that is what I did. The whole process took a lot of time mainly due to a lot of issues I encountered. So main reason for the refresh was valve stem seals and hydraulic valve lifters. Since we were there replaced a lot more and cleaned the engine a little.

So for the other Cylinders for the valve seals, did you turn em to top center ? Can we also crank it counter clock wise ? Thanks
Yes, whichever cylinder you are working on the piston has to be in a top position for that cylinder. And yes you can rotate it counterclockwise. If you think about it it still moves up and down so it makes no difference. Only when you have it all assembled and you rotate the engine counterclockwise the tensioner can loosen up a bit.

Hi Corey! Try strut mount in the engine bay. Should have engine code there. If there was a swap it’s more difficult. B25 and b28 have different stroke so you can measure that through spark plug hole 😉

what do you want to do with the car? should that lower or raise the compression?

@@mexelele8776 hmm… maybe high comp pistons would be better for that. I’ve never done that so I can’t say. If you have them and you’re already taken the engine you can check and measure ;)

tu wszystko było oryginalnie. silnik z samochodu z 95 roku to kilka rzeczy w nim było przedliftowych i kilka poliftowych... poza tym wiele rzeczy mogło się zmienić przez lata różnych właścicieli. cewki z vinu zamówiliśmy i wszystko pasowało
Na samochodzie nie da rady tego zrobić?
Może jakby ktoś się baaaaardzo uparł ale byłoby niesamowicie trudno wiec zdecydowanie lepiej silnik wyjąć ;)

1:50 .... wait.. who the hell would say that? The 4 cylinder BMW engines were not only quite crap, they had 4 cylinders :D they only selling point is a little bit lower fuel consumption. Everything else the 6 cylinder M52 is the better engine - especially considering the almost 100HP difference in power... oh and the lovely sound of the i6, no matter what you do to the exhaust the 4 cylinder one is never going to sound good.. seriously was this some kind of sarcasm Im too stupid to understand or what? :DDD
Finally someone noticed it 😂 it was a joke obviously 😅 nah we love 6cyl bmw engines. There is a theory that bmw made their i4 cars with intention to be bought and swapped to i6 if you crash your previous car 😉
