    Sponge cake recipe without oven.
    When we bake cake layers the outside heats up and baked more quickly than the center, which is insulated by the rest of the batter surrounding it. So basically the outside of the cake layer bakes first; the inside of the cake layer has more time to rise and by the time the inside is set and baked through the outside is starting to dry out and burn. This is why you see so many cakes with dark edges which are not cotton soft.
    In this video i used cake strip method to avoid hard edges.
    This sponge cake is very easy to make,perfect sponge for icing and frosting. no need to trim edges.
    ingredients
    1.5 cup all purpose flour (180 grams)
    1 cup and 1/3 cup milk
    1.5 tbsp lemon juice
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 cup powder sugar (120 grams)
    1/2 cup oil
    2 tbsp milk powder
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 pinch salt

    I made this cake for my daughter’s birthday! It was absolutely delicious and moist. My daughter has egg allergies and I’ve tried different recipes. This is the definitely one for us. Now for a chocolate one and we are all set. I’ll try your chocolate receipe for my son’s birthday next week😊

    Super good recipe ! Cake turned out so soft and nice . I added Butter cream frosting on the top and it was so good ! I baked mine at 180 degree for about 40-45 minutes . But at 30 minutes do check it if it has been cooked ! Thank you so much 💕 .
    Tips :
    Try adding slightly lesser oil . And the cake is small ! About 1/2 kg or lesser . Double the batter if you want to enjoy more ! .

    I tried this cake on my mom's birthday and it was so soft but I would recommend adding 3/4 cup or 1/2 cup of sugar

      Yah it is kind of very sweet but it can actually depend on the person like if you love things to be sweet you can add 1 cup if you don't add 3/4cup

    I tried this yesterday and it was the best cake I ever made. I make a lot of cakes but the recipe I used called for condensed milk and drinking soda which I did not have at home so tried your recipe and it was soooo good! The best sponge cake I've made.     The cake seems good though i have some questions:
    1.Is that curdle milk called butter milk...!!!
    2.why to curdle the milk! Why not whole butter milk or curd ?

      1.no 2. Butter milk serves different purpose however curd can be used... But to everyone curd is not available all the time that's why she curdled the milk

    Thank you for the recipe 🙂 May I please request you to share the recipe/ or all the ingredients in Grams or please mention your measuring cup size for better understanding 🙏 as measuring cups size differs. Some are 200ML and some are 240/250ML = 1 Cup. How do we know how much is your one cup ?🙂

    3:56 can we mix it with an electric beater?
    And also can we use the same recipe for the chocolate sponge cake...by just adding cocoa? If yes then how much cocoa do we have to add in?

    I am really longing to bake a chocolate cake using this recipe.
    However,no lemon, vinegar and please kindly guide me with my question s connected with chocolate Ganache and flower designing.
    If I warm amul cream and add cocoa powder to it ,will I obtain chocolate Ganache

    Mam,
    I’m a first time baker, well a fourth time baker.
    My previous three attempts to bake eggless sponge cakes were disastrous.
    The cakes burnt at the sides and were raw in the middle and this collapsed.
    I use a LG convention microwave to bake.
    I read a bit and ALL the great chefs say that if we use large baking tins ( anything larger than 6 inches ) the cake shall ALWAYS be raw in the middle and burn out at the edges...
    I mean the Kapoor’s, the Brar’s and even the great Vah Vah chefs...
    But a few hours ago I tried your method and recipe.
    I used an 8 inch pan.
    I followed your recipe, and the cake rose in the middle and wasn’t raw. It was cooked evenly, and boy was I surprised!
    It wasn’t as perfect as yours, it had a brown crust all over; not like your crust which is golden yellow.
    It had not risen as much at the sides, nor were there the holes like in your cake.
    But the middle rose well and there were holes like in your cake.
    The inside of the cake wasn’t white like yours but very light shade of brown.
    I’d request you earnestly to bake your cake in a convection microwave so we who use it can compare...
    I started baking because I’m a single parent and it’s my daughter’s birthday on the 30th of April, 2020. She’ll turn nine and she is investing her heart and soul in helping me bake her a birthday cake.
    Today she was happy, but she could see that our cake wasn’t as good as yours.
    Please guide us.
    Do we use the kadhai method? Because the convection microwave did not work.
    Maybe we over baked at 180 degree C for 40 minutes.
    The range 30-40 minutes confused us.
    So could you please do a video of the same cake in a convection microwave or even an OTG ?

      Thanks for your feedback....app ek bar kadai me bake karo ,time lagta hai but otg se acha result ata hai ,never over mix the batter,always use fresh ingredients like baking soda and baking powder,take proper measurements ,cake ko tab tak bake kare jab tak ki wo centre tak puri trah se bake nhi ho jaye ,

      Hi, I also have LG all in one Oven. I baked at 160 degree for 30 mins. I used an 8 inch baking tin. The cake rose well in middle and didn't burn or hardened. It didn't rise that much as shown in the video on sides but was same in color as shown in video. The cake cracks on crust, but the taste is just awesome. Try my baking temp and time experience.

      No nothing is different , but when you use them always remember to flatten the extra above matrial on the spoon

      niloufer yasmeen, I know it’s non of my business but to make two 12 inch cakes you double the ingredients, as you saw she cut the 7 inch into two layers, if you make 1. 12 inch cake it should make one thin layer. And because it’s 12 inches you want to make it in two different pans.

      If u triple this recipe then u can get a almost same height 12 inch cake in a 12 inch round pan.
