    Can't wait to see how this turns out and get some numbers (top speed, fuel milage, etc) on it. I plan on diesel swapping my 94 yj in the future and would love to see what this engine is capable of. And if it'd be reliable/fuel efficient enough for a daily driver doing 70+ mph on interstate

      I’ll be making videos with all that information on both the TDI in my TJ and the Kubota in the YJ once they are both done!

      It really is, I’d like to get both the YJ and TJ done in the next few weeks if possible.

    Try wiht VM engines, up to 90,, from European JEEPS.
    2,5, and, the best 3.1.
    Because it fits everthing else, too.

    That went in so well. I can't wait to see these Jeeps running.

      It really didn't I didn't know how similar the YJ and TJ might or might not be. Both Jacob and I are itching to get these Wranglers done so we can hit trails and go camping/overlanding.

      @@RustyAutoholicGuy that's gonna be awesome. One day I'm hoping to start my YJ truck swap. I've never done much with a YJ so it's good to hear they're similar. In fact I've heard that the YJ and the 97 TJ is even more similar than most TJs.

      @RustyAutoholicGuy  Před 2 lety +1

      I've heard that as well, makes me want to get a 1997 to check it out for myself.

      @@RustyAutoholicGuy I've got a 95 YJ and 97 TJ and 96 Grand Cherokee.
      I planned to do the whole overlanding thing, but it seems like I'm always fixing stuff with little time for trips. Of course we've got family farms with lots of room to roam and play.

    Lo mejor que se puede hacer es ponerle un diesel a el yj se siente muy bien manejarlo

    Six bolts and you can pull the grill

    • @RustyAutoholicGuy
      @RustyAutoholicGuy  Před 8 měsíci

      True but it has factory AC that works and we are trying to keep that with the swap, so leaving the grill in place made that easier. Otherwise yes you are correct removing the front grill is super easy and would have made that job MUCH simplier.

    Please show how you set up the FMIC. There is like 0 information / references for setting up intercoolers on YJs and by golly the quality of work you do would probably help a TON of people out (like me) who are looking for real world adaptation of a intercooler without breaking the bank.

    • @RustyAutoholicGuy
      @RustyAutoholicGuy  Před 2 lety +1

      That is the plan, actually just got the intercooler that we are planning on using in the mail today so that will be a video coming soon, just depends on Jacobs and my schedule but we will be doing an in-depth install of the intercooler.

      @@RustyAutoholicGuy Fantastic, cant wait to see it! Wonder if you would consider the same Air-Air setup for the TJ?

    • @RustyAutoholicGuy
      @RustyAutoholicGuy  Před 2 lety

      So the same setup would work for the Kubota but not as easily for the TDI. The Kubota has the turbo and I take on opposite sides of the head where as the TDI is on the same side. The intercooler would work, but the amount of piping would be rather long.
      Also I already have most of the stuff setup to run a water to air intercooler on my TJ so I’m going to be running that setup for now.
